these look extremely difficult to play. would you recommend the Kaossilator or Roland SP 404? There's a big price difference but I feel like buttons may work to my advantage. Thoughts? anyone?

You can't use it as a midi controller. there is no usb or midi out function. However, the new Kaossilator Pro will come with those features.

Definitely get one, they are really fun. I would actually recommend getting one when you know you are going to have a lot of time to mess around with it. What made learning a bit easier was my piano experience, but anyone can just jam.
