what an amazing cultural disgrace to go through life like that, we can only hope she would be able to bring herself up and rise above, what is the norm for her and her community.
@amberwitt My biological father called me stupid for 9 years and was a piss head (alcoholic) until my parents divorced. The 2nd father came along and once he got his foot in the door and moved in it was the same thing all over again, throwing shit at me, putting me down. etc. My biological father tried to get back into contact with me 15 years later (when i was 24) but during the whole till present day whenever i see him it's all just false on his part. He can get fucked.
@blade004 Wow Im sry you had to go through that :( My dad was never around.. so I personally don't know what that's like. My mom has been through some hard times with this one stupid man but I was too young to remember. God bless you I hope you are doing good now :)
@amberwitt Agreed though, such unjustified behaviour should never be tolerated!. Children are very vulnerable and should be protected both physically and mentality from the ills of the world and from the hardness of life until they can fend for themselves and such pain should never start within the confines of the home.
all of yall need to just chill and watch the movie this movies has so many different affects on different people. Sme of us are actully raised this way,,, and the part about black people WE the black people are always giving the MEDIA a REASON to betray us... stop acting and they want play the role of doing it.. AND CROSS-DRESSING has nothing to do with it.. it's how you actually look at the movie and wht you get from it. i PERSONALLY like it ant i think it''s going to be GOOD actually GREAT!
even though i have no sound comin out of my speaker and the vid looks like it gettin fastward. it stil looks like a DAMN good movie, i agree wit Xalyn08m dis is the frist time i have eva cried by lookin at a perview for a moive.
Seems to me tha FearOfa Black Channel is just jealous of Tyler Perry. If you dont like his stuuf dont watch it. Stop haten on people because you cant do what they do
TO HELL WITH TYLER PERRY!A cross-dressing freak who has disgraced the image of our Black female elders, comes along &adapts what-"PUSH"?Are you serious!&Ophrah's lame butt-lickin' ass endorsing this crap.If Black ppl didn't get anything from the book they'll get less from the film adaptation. We don't need anymore big-budget reminders of our condition,&on top of that there's enough ghetto literature available to make that happen for the next 50yrs! I guess"HOMO-THUG" will be next to come out.
maybe we need the mirror pointed towards ourselves in order to bring forth some changes. maybe asking mr perry and oprah to start doing more movies like this instead of the overuse of madea, but asking in a more positive manner. dont down this man for his success, theres a madea in every family, we cant pretend to act as if all of our elders are so perfect
NO there isn't a "Madea" in every family unless you're saying that there's a 6'2" transvestite in every family.T.P. could've gotten a REAL BLACK WOMAN for that role&chose not to because he'd rather X-dress &communicate w/THAT community than represent Black Women honorably.&now we've young Black men-many who are RAISED by grandmothers-viewing this trash like its supposed to be meaningful.Iwe gotta get past emotions& think more critically about how our communities are affected by media influences.
ok, keep lying to yourself. So many of us live in denial & that is what is keeping us from experiencing any real change. we are NOT perfect. the sooner we stop pretending we are, the better for all of us. &wtf does crossdressing have to do with anything?? Some of you that down TP are the same ones that cheered for Shenehneh & Wanda & made them popular. Im tired of black people always crying about how we are portrayed on TV but turn our backs to what goes on right there in our own communities.
wowowowow. You think that African Americans should not be unhappy about they are being potrayed in the media? Why? I just would really appreciate an answer to my question. I would like to understand how else African Americans should feel when every time they see the local news there is some distasteful person recounting the events of a shooting rather then a normal person (black) on the news for the assistance in resolving a major crisis. Please educate me.
I think African Americans should focus more on whats going on up the street from us than what is playing on BET.. we can protest in LA, or outside Debra Lee's house but wont get together and take back our streets. We need to get together as a whole teach our kids how to become productive members of society, but some get their money and run to the 'burbs and dont want anything to do with the black community.
Then there are those that sit and criticize how people like Oprah and Tyler should spend their money and arent doing a damn thing to help. Many times we dont want anything to do with each other until theres something to criticize and complain about. We need more unity as a whole. Once we have that then the media cant affect us
I read that book "push" years back its a crazy book .SAD SAD. It made me cried mother's just horrible just a little bit of the nightmare in this young gils life. A must see.
I had not heard anything about this movie . Pula Patton was 1 of the presenters at the BET awards and i did not recognize her from anything THANKS for posting this video can't wait to see it. I have it added to my playlist
The name of the author is Sapphire. This is a really heavy book. Be mindful of that. Prepare yourself mentally before you read it because it can put you in a really negative state.
So I guess in the negro community a 300 pound welfare mammy is a precious commodity? This movie outlines every part of TNB that exists. And everyone else is racist but they do the exact same shit portrayed in this "gem" of a movie? I admit my wall is lined with trashy movies but a movie about a three hundred pound niggers "success" at having two kids and going on welfare is just too much!
I'm sorry that no one loves you...but it's not necessary to display your severe lack of self esteem or self worth on the comment section of this trailer for the world to see. Therapy would be the better option for you.
Wow, I'm usually not the biggest fan of Tyler Perry Movies ( because I can't tell one from the other), but this one looks different. I'll definitely go see this one. Looks Awesome!
oh my god.. i am reading this book at my job ._.
