This is from Euphoria Morning?! I'm so getting that album.. I love how Chris can cross genres, the sign of a truly talented musician.. this is so soulful. He's one of the best musicians of our time..
The only thing similar about Carry On (when compared to Euphoria Morning) is that Chris sang on it. Very different records,...with Euphoria Morning being much, much better.
Your point being that everything that is played in the clubs is good? Not even close, dude. And I like electronic music, rnb and shit. Just as long as it's GOOD.
I saw Chris Cornell on this tour in Anaheim, California at the Sun Theatre....what a GREAT show. One of the BEST voices in rock...and as for this song and album, EXCELLENT!!!
geez... he doesn't even have to try, does he? Sounds exactly like the CD in every concert! and wow! seems like he hardly has to move a mouth muscle to get those perfect vocals!!! This is my Fav. Solo Song by Chris... it's f**king beautiful! Keep it up chris!!!
Cornell is one of the best live singers ever!! He sounds almost always as good as on the cd. And whoever said this is some fucking lip cync or whatever, you have mistaken badly! :D
yeah sorry bud, this is not a lip sync, he's actually singing, just listen to the chorus, the difference in time length on the wails over vowels is the easiest way to tell if a person is lip syncing and there is an obvious difference. you're probably used to Cornell not sounding this close to studio versions, but this is one of the best live vocals from cornell that i've heard. This isn't lip sync.
I was actually replying to papasalahuancaina and his statements that Chris was "miming". Don't worry Im 100% convinced he IS singing. And yes, his voice here sounds impecable.
Oh ok np :) I just thought it was kinda funny how the guy said Chris was "miming". Isn't lip syncin the common term to use in such a case? I don't think Chris would have the audacity to do such a thing. God bless those pipes.
haha, yeah it's called lip sync, "miming" is an acting term, not a vocal term. And no, that's not the way chris is, he wouldn't lip sync for thousands of people who payed anywhere from $40-$120 to see him perform...if anyone needs proof look at the amount of range he's lost from sacraficing his voice every song every set for 20+ years for the fans. Speaking of sets, im going to see him in chicago the 11th. really stoked about it.
oh man it was fucking awesome dude. yeah, he's flying solo now man, he left audioslave about 2 months ago. He did excellent all night, i was hoping to hear JC Pose, but he didn't play it. he did a really good mix of songs too. he had something from every album except for LTL, Ul.OK, SL/Fopp, but there was at least one song from every single album outside of those three. Spoonman ended the night and it was fucking killer.
First let me say that I love chris Cornell and every incarnation of his career. He sounded very ordinary when I saw soundgarden back in late 90s though. What I cant believe is how he got away with miming this at a live concert. If this was in Australia he would not have gotten out of their alive.
err. I think not, on the 46" an after that, that not soound like the album version... and I just think Cornell have a much better voice when is singing blues than when is singing rock... even if is my favorite singer!
Miming means that Chris made this recording elsewhere (for example in a studio, after several attempts and in good conditions) and now they are playing it to the crowd, and he is acting like he is actually singing that. And of course sounds great.
It's a lot more noticeable in the Audioslave show in Letterman (he is miming in 3 songs and sounds amazing, then he actually sings in the 4th one: Cochise and sounds very bad actually).
man what an unapreciated gem euphoria morning was. And as far as the videos I've seen here from the tour the band was incredibly tight. What a pity :-(
You wouldn't believe how many times I've listened to that album back to back. The lyrics are like engraved in my mind haha. The songs are so well constructed, the arrangements are very intricate yet maintaining a sense of originality.
haha, yeah caltrof, i maintain the lyrical content is stonger on this euphoria morning than superunknown, and the arrangement between the two just comes down to taste. Cornell is nothing short of a musical genius, 95% soundgarden's musical arrangements were written by chris and a lot of audioslave's material came from chris as far as melody and harmonies go. Euphoria Morning is great and i can't wait for the new solo album.
#1 ever.
Always loving Chris.

This album was just amazing. I cant describe it. Such a shame he didnt make another album like this instead of trying to tap into the pop stream
Imocan115 2 years ago 7
He did make another similiar album, it was called Carry On

Carry on is no where near the quailty of euphoria morning.
