Do lots of yoga, especially right before you jump into the ditches. And pound as much water/gatorade as you can, if you're from out of town, you'll get badly dehydrated without realizing it (there is NO moisture in our desert air, so you don't know you're sweating until you pass out!).

You know that big breakwater, the enormous concrete sloped thing that looks like it's covered with gravestones, only they're not gravestones...it's on Eubank, the curvy part of Eubank. The Bear is the section downstream from that spot.
