Sometimes piracy can be a good thing. It keeps artists and filmakers in check because they know they cant force us to buy music or movies that are bad quality. There has been plenty of times where I in the pre youtube and internet radio days would download an album and go "thank god I didn't waste twenty bucks on that." Digitization shows what a facade it is and we learn from it and realize it no longer is worth $20 for a DVD.
