does anyone still play online?!? i want this game for ps3 and im looking for a good third person shooter that has multiplayer (besides Uncharted and GTA). PLEASE HELP. :)
Great game but the i'm currently playing MGS3 via MGS HD Collection and now I am noticing how damn stupid all the AI are in this game. In MGS3 the AI are much smarter.

I just remember reading somewhere that Kojima wanted to see what the PS3 was capable of doing and he wanted to push it's limits, especially taking advantage of the 50gb blu ray discs. He didn't really care to make it for any other console at the time. What I was reading though was someone asking about MGS4 on the Xbox though, not PC so I'm not sure why I said that.
super mario galaxy 2 got a 10/10 and its the only game this generation that deserves it IMHO.......metal gear solid 4 was good but not a s great as the other mgs
If it was release on xbox 360 it would be like4-5 disc. why? final fantasy XIII needs 3 and MGS 4 is actually a larger game than FInal fantasy XIII so it will be awkward to have 4 or 5 disc in an xbox game

definitely one the best games I've played and surely the best game on the ps3, and it made me buy the other 3 msg games because of how much I enjoyed the story
@opg4 They aren't that long. I've never counted how long they all are together, but most people say around about 90 mins in total. It is awesome though. I don't think there has ever been a better PS3 game, and i doubt there will be another that is so memorable.

@opg4 The 3rd person view is important because of the stealth aspects. You're going to be sneaking around for the most of it. The tagline of the series is 'Tactical Espionage Action'.

There aren't any puzzles per say but the game requires quite a bit of skill and strategy as you infiltrate calm areas and sneak through war zones. Running and gunning is possible but is ridiculously hard as your not the average FPS soldier with regenerating health. This is especially true on harder difficulties.

No problem. Remember. The only strategy is in how you approach each situation, trying to be as stealthy as possible. It's a bit tough to get used to but once you get the hang of the gameplay, it becomes an extension of your hand.
@ps3rules87 you dont necessarily have to but its complicated without playing them and youd have to listen veeery carefully to all these information , and trust me, there are a lot .its definitely better to play the other ones first.

The gameplay is great, and the graphics are AMAZING. But it lacks in the story... Don't even bother watching the cut scenes after the credits. Nothing will ever beat MGS1 or Snake Eater

This is great. I just got a PS3 for Christmas and have been doing research to figure out what are supposed to be some of the system's best games. Of course, I have heard that the game's cutscenes are very long. One of my friends even told me that after you finish playing the game you pretty much get to watch a 2 hour long movie! Meh, that's still pretty awesome when you think about it

@Sweet56th IMO, games should never focus more on story & cinematics than gameplay. While I do highly appreciate story & cinematics in video games, I can also find those things in movies. Gameplay is what makes video games unique, and unlike other entertainment media.
i watched more cutscenes then i did play the game sure it had cool features and decent graphics but like really half the game is sitting on your ass trying to connect the game to the old ones and snake just isnt a bad ass D:
I have to admit, I do agree with him about the cutscenes being too long. There's a reason why I play video games a lot more than watch movies. There's still plenty of incredible gameplay, though. I wish he mentioned that the game has an online mode, although he does have a separate review for it (no idea why).

This isn't a problem but I feel that (because of my vast MGS series knowledge) I have to say this: The rebels in the games assume Snake is an enemy due to his suit, but the PMCs will always attack Snake no matter what because of the nano-machines injected into them. That's why they will never side with you if you kill lots of militia fighters.

There is only one thing I didnt like about MGS4 and that is the fact that there are no... VR Missions. I know stupid, what? But with the next generation power I'd really loved to see at least some VR mission. Those people who have played both MGS Special Mission and MGS2 Substence probably know about the huge variety of those mission. They could easily be a game for themselves I mean MGS had... over 300 (if I'm not wrong) missions and they were all cool.

10/10 the best game from the greastest series of all time and it's better than spliter cell.

'less sneaking this time' bullshit it's how u play it, like he said he runs and guns but it is possible to get thru the game without any alert phases, plus most of what he sed is bull shit, plays like splinter cell, have to see ppl by sight, when u have a radar on the solid eye and a sound ring when ur standing still, and i kno the review was still a positive 1 just some of his comments were stupid!!

@Sweet56th IMO, games should never focus more on story & cinematics than gameplay. While I do highly appreciate story & cinematics in video games, I can also find those things in movies. Gameplay is what makes video games unique, and unlike other entertainment media.

I have to admit, I do agree with him about the cutscenes being too long. There's a reason why I play video games a lot more than watch movies. There's still plenty of incredible gameplay, though. I wish he mentioned that the game has an online mode, although he does have a separate review for it (no idea why).

This isn't a problem but I feel that (because of my vast MGS series knowledge) I have to say this: The rebels in the games assume Snake is an enemy due to his suit, but the PMCs will always attack Snake no matter what because of the nano-machines injected into them. That's why they will never side with you if you kill lots of militia fighters.

There is only one thing I didnt like about MGS4 and that is the fact that there are no... VR Missions. I know stupid, what? But with the next generation power I'd really loved to see at least some VR mission. Those people who have played both MGS Special Mission and MGS2 Substence probably know about the huge variety of those mission. They could easily be a game for themselves I mean MGS had... over 300 (if I'm not wrong) missions and they were all cool.
