The boat that that got rammed (i.e. not the one where this camera was), had the right of way. I hope they see this video and use it in their insurance claim. It doesn't appear that either vessel made any attempt to avoid the other.

Not sure what country or waters this was in or what country you learned about boating, lol.

But in the U.S. larger boats do not have right of way because of size, please take an on line boating class before you turn the key. Larger boats, size, type... is a factor but not the first rule of thumb. There is a 360 degree clock/picture that figures out right of way. One should know this and much more before clickin the key. The vessel that filmed this would be at fault.

My dear, I took a boating course and have piloted boats for decades. My response earlier is sparse and not entirely correct and the video does not show allot of what we could deduce to have happened. Larger boats have right away in most cases. What we can't see here is a channel or buoy system, which would play a factor. Clearly, if there was one captain with common sense, this wouldn't have happened.

You are correct for most of your reply, except that larger boats do not have right of way because of size. In an open ocean/bay with two boats converging at steady headings. That "larger" boat needed to stand down. They were to "port" of the smaller boat. That larger boat was not a 300 ft tanker that couldn't turn in time. Maybe in other countries people can do as they please because their boat is bigger. In the U.S. that's not the case. Years of ignorance is even more dangerous.
