I think it's all about transformation. At the beginning we see her, scared of everything, tons of heavy and useless luggage, and empty frames. She goes on the train = life journey to transform into a beautiful free creature full of life, the moth.
Also, were the other passengers really there? The chessplayers never touched anything, same for the tennis player, and the kid who reads a book to physically protect himself...They had no meaning, no importance.
woooooooow!!!!!!!!! de los mejores stop motion que eh visto,, esos ojos!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! esa expresion en la cara de madame y que secuencia,, no solo es stop motion, tambien es simbologia y todo eso,,

One of my dearest Canadian friends sent this 17 min. film to me. I was more then impressed............some what blown away by the delightful and charming details to the characters that will hunt all viewers.My heart was sadden as I could relating to the main character demented fears. This film was Bitter Sweet! Disturbing story...yet magnificent talent.
This was the most amazing example of stop motion I have ever seen. The realistic motions of each character was perfect and flawless, especially Madame Tutli Putli. Her wonderful movements were actually in so much sync with the real world, I thought I was watching an actual real time movie. The small fidgets a person makes to the eyes which held all emotions of how she felt. Fear, happiness, sadness, and wonder. Excellent example of an animation character.
this film is exactly like my worst nightmares

Reminds me of the stop motion animations of my youth, some were just as dark and a little sinister. Lovely film.

I don't understand the point of this? Yes, yes, great stop motion blah blah blah.
does it get any deeper than that? or is this just a vainglorious egotrip of some self-entitled Canadian existentialist animators?

@strokesfan1107 A+ pompous comment.

The eyes are actually real video footage of peoples' eyes that were superimposed on a puppet. That said, it's a great technique they employed.

*as i'm watching* As of 5:00 I am terrified of the rest of this film, with no idea why.
*at the end* Beautiful. Shockingly, terrifyingly, hauntingly beautiful.
And I have no idea what it means.
