  • I think you are missing some safety features on your invention I would check into a safety valve or regulator that prevents backfire or youre thing could explode!

  • @MightyZarkon, i have not had any trouble with it, i will upgrade the carburetor into a propane jet carb for it, soon as i get a chance to gom to a mower service center that service propane mowers

  • Do like gay sex ?

  • MED RARE PLEASE

  • Just keep that engine lubricated and cool as possible, LP doesn't like engines that much :( It dries out the cylinder and couses poor lubrication. But cool project!

  • @MrTpengineer LP doesn't dry out the cylinder. Gasoline will wash some of the oil off the cylinder wall though. Normally you can expect 50-75% longer engine life with LP but it is hard on the exhaust valve. It is very hard on the exhaust valve in these old Briggs motors. Briggs used to sell a stellite exhaust valve that fixes the problem, but I don't know if you can still get them.

  • @jl733 Oh, because I talked to a mechanic that had to work on LP forklifts and he says the cylinders are very worn out compared to gas ones?

  • @MrTpengineer, the forklift engine cylinders very worned out because the engine was poorly maintained, probably used the same oil in the engine's life, never changed

  • only a redneck would show you a lawnmower as a 'show-off' object. . .

  • Why such a big tank?

  • @KenMacMillan, if i mow with this for an hour a day per week, it last me a whole mowing season before refilling the tank up again

  • @SpiritsoftheWolf Yeah, the disposable tanks go for about the same price & would cost more than gas. I should've put 2&2 together.

  • same as running a gasifier

  • Redneck mower

  • blow your nose and you will breathe much better.

  • @nicholaos1983, it wouldn't do any good, it's spring season and that's the season for spring dust and that what stuffed my nose up

  • lmao this is classic! You could get 4 years worth of cuts with one cylinder

  • @youngbleeb, LoL actually the tank last me a whole season when i mow an hour per day per week, i am getting my money worth on propane refills at 12 bucks

  • awesome!!! i want to do this to my honda push mower. do you just use the regulator off of your gas grill, and plump it to the carb? i want my neighbors to think im crazy too. i guess that the conversion gives the engine more power too.. very nice. any info would be great thanks

  • @blackbill44, this has no regulator on it yet, it's straight injection as for now, i need to find some kind of governor coltroller, so when it detects load like cutting thick grass, the gas flow governor can open it up to allow more gas flow to increase engine speed, this setup i got now, mows my perfectly well without any governor coltroller, it still has the original governor, and the regulator you thought it has on there, is my propane gas gauge

  • @blackbill44, and on top of that, it's time for a updated video of it, it now have a place for my propane tank to set on without hanging from the handlebar, soon as the weather improves, i will show a new video of it, it's cold now at

-10* Celcius, and its windy here too, talk about windchill temps, oy

  • @SpiritsoftheWolf cool make a propane riding mower like u said

  • Can you use this setup on the horizontal suction carbs or does this only work on the vertical carbs?

  • @GrandpaTD, you sure can, propane is is a pressurized vapor gas, no gravity feed is needed, i like to find me a good horizontal engine, like an almost new generator, that will be my next project

  • That is awesome. I have a worn out MTD that has such poor compression that it takes a miracle to get it started on gasoline. I'm gonna have to try this. Thanks for the video, this beats a $200+ conversion kit.

  • poor compression means possible a bad exhaust valve, or blow head gasket, and yes, it's cheaper than the conversion kit :)

  • It's just flat work out, most likely the rings. When it loads up, the rod knocking is louder than the exhaust. It's now the mower saved for the ugly jobs like heavy leaf and twig removal.

  • i removed the fuel tank and used the fuel pickup tube line as my propane fuel injector, it runs sweet, mows great, less emissions, runs LONGER betwen fill ups

  • Awsome!

  • how long does a propane tank last you ??

    is it dangerous ??

  • this tank last me a whole mowing season, an hour per week from april to almost end of october, and nope, it's not dangerous, long you dont have any gas leak around the lines, except the fuel inlet in the carb, where the gas goes in, i had this LP mower for over a year

  • i took the same one!!

  • It's kind of hard to set the proper mix for varying loads without a fuel controller. You could set the mixture for a specific condition by monitoring cylinder head temperature. Lean the mixture to peak cylinder head temperature and then enrichen the mixture to bring the temp down. Busted rings, burnt valves, and blown head gaskets are all signs of overheating from running too lean.

  • custom

  • Yeah, support American made mowers. Don't trade your mowers in for the crap Neuton mower (made in Taiwan). If you want to go cordless battery, the Remginton mower is the best USA made mower on the market. But know gas is stillthe best and it is still cheap to mowe with gas than battery in a lot of ways.

  • oh no, that is why i kept all my mowers in top shape, to outlast these cheap mowers

  • its strange how the ring just gave out. were u using it then wen it gave out or did it start smoking one time wem u fried it up?

  • it ran fine after i mow 1 strip of grass and soon as i turned around for another strip... it started smoking, so i hoping its not the rings, hoping its a defective breather, cuz when i started the engine, usually it would smoke a little then clear up indicate that it burns oil, but before i ran it on LP it ran on gas and i never smelled oil burning or smoked when 1st started... i will start with the breather cover 1st before going into deeper

  • lol random.....

  • I have a propane powered mower! I'm not totally done with it yet but it's up and running it runs real good!!

  • the briggs and stratton engine on this video was taken off the deck and replaced it with 3.75 hp briggs and stratton engine, because the 3.5 hp has a broken oil control ring and it was smoking really bad, so i had to change it and i will rebuilt it with new rings, and will put it back on this deck to continue to run it on propane, and i am still running on the same tank as of a month now

  • I'm now converting my snapper riding mower to be a propane/gasoline hybrid. It's almost done!!!

  • wow,.... i am looking for a golf cart and see about converting it to run on propane, before i convert MY golf cart into propane

  • I got my snapper running on propane today lol. It works alright but it's touchy with the mix though... But it's nice to be able to run on gasoline as well for when the speed needs to vary a lot. Video coming after this stinking rain is over with. :\

  • thats cool,i just picked up a snapper rider out of the dumpster and i will get a video of it, look like it is in a decent shape, i need to put a battery on it and see if it will fire up(i am hoping it does)

  • Well wouldn't anyone? lol. I need to replace the exhaust valve on my snapper now it killed it :( Maybe propane isn't a great idea. :( blew out the head gasket too.

  • you didnt use mapp gas, did you?? those mapp gas burns hotter than propane

  • It was running on propane. Mapp gas doesn't come in a giant white tank :P The valve was actually stretched out (the stem), not actually burnt. I made 2 videos of me repairing it. It runs again, I'm so happy! :) Please watch them :P

  • kook book... lmfao

  • can u show what u did to the carb in a video?

  • sure, i will get it on the next video, all i did was just to drop the fuel tank and cut the fuel line halfway so i can do away with the fuel filter screen and slip the gasline hose on the fuelline and clamp it down with hose clamp, this carb was a single fuel line pickup instead of 2 fuelines

  • How many btu's does this put out? You should paint the deck and put a silencer on the pipe, it would look cool with a big silencer on the end. I packed my muffler with steel wool and you can't here it two houses over in the cramped California neighborhoods where I live. But by udging from your property, noise isn't a big problem. Nice!

    --Gary G.

  • well i have no idea how much btu it's putting out, all i know that it cut my mom with the grass is well over 6 inches without any problem, and with the straight pipe on it, ever think that Loud Pipe Save Lives?? LoL, i'll have to try that steel wool thing sometimes
