If the ipod keeps going to the sad face or it keeps freezing randomly when doing this, just let the ipod run through the songs for a couple of hours, this causes the hardrive to start running smoothly for not being ran after a couple of years/ also if this stuff doesnt work trying running some diagnostics by holding the left and center button

You broke a PS3 controller? Ouch. That's gonna cost you. I've broken my fair share of controllers in my day, and have a whole controller grave yard to prove it, but at the current cost of controllers, I can no longer afford to get angry, so I'm more likely to just shut the game off now if it's making me angry.
Anyways, I find that violence and electronics works well for me. Whenever it pissed me off, beat it, and it usually starts working again.
