  • Why do Brits always say "V" for the "TH" sound?

    Tevvering?

    No, it's TETHERING.

  • @bigbusa1 so what you do is, you just go into SE INGS- (skips the T). It's SETTINGS, not SE-INGS

  • I am unable to do USB tethering, but I can do wifi hotspot. Why is that?

  • Is the Wi-Fi free??

  • Hi, thanks for the vid, can you put a password on the samsung wifi so only you can connect, I wouldn't want random people to connect to my phone to use my internet, is there anyway to put a password to protect you internet connection.

Anyway, this would be a good option for me to hook a tablet up, wouldn't need 3g, just tether your android tab to the phone.

    Good video.

  • Hi, thank you for your very comprehensive tutorial. Could you also teach us how to do reverse tethering? I mean, using USB connection to allow Samsung Galaxy S2 to make use of the laptop's network when Wi-Fi is not readily available.

  • @MrJoeyjuly

This confused me as well, to use the usb tether, you computer must already be online when turning the usb tether on. This is because a driver is required for usb tether and without being online it can't update it. With wifi this isn't a problem. Once the driver is downloaded it'll work away fine

  • can you make hotspots on telstra?

  • i cant connect to internet by using USB tethering, only can by using wifi hotspot..why? anybody here can explain?

  • lol...its very gold and windy well mate...thats english weather for u :D thanks for the vid.

  • In the process of ditching the iPhone 4 for this l'il number. Now, I KNOW the i4 can be used to play Xbox live (pretty flawlessly) using a combination of the jailbreak app "MyWi" and changing of the apn (I'm with three). I have 2 questions: 1) how can I change the apn on the Gs2 running 2.3? and 2) how will or how DOES this phone compare using it's connection for Xbox live? Please, any help on these would be greatly appreciated as BOTH are extremely important to me. Thanks ;)

  • how do u connect my phone to an ad hoc from windows 7???i is it not working

  • @knightryder691 you should configure the ad hoc properly

  • Hi, How do you connect to wi-fi in the samsung galaxy s2

  • but... the question is.... are you the only gay in the village?

  • @ROsCoALwAys hahahahahahhahaha!

  • uuh my android prevail dont got that

  • @MobileReviewSite my droid 2 doesnt have that how could i get it?

  • Usb tethering, the pc tells me I need to install a driver? Where do I find that driver? Thanx in advance

  • @Boehoehuahoei windows should install this automatically, make sure you're connected to the internet

  • Hi, using the phones wifi hotspot I went online with my wii. Is it capable of putting a PS3 online?

  • @dnoble2008 it is but you will lag. i tried it with black ops and the lag was unbearable.

  • Yeah I thought that might be the case. Thanks for getting back to me mate.

  • @MobileReviewSite really, but did you have it plugged into your laptop by usb or not? I dont know if its faster to have it in by usb, is it?

  • @dnoble2008 I did but after you use so much data, they slow it down and you lag like crazy..

  • What app is this anyone??

  • @DjMuthafcknRukus1 it not an app but built in to android. just go to settings.

  • Is WiFi Cost Money? Because its an internet Source Right?

  • in my SGS2 can't find that option. Seems to be disabled. How to enable it ?

  • @lfabresm did you buy your phone with a contract? If yes its probably the company which block the function.

  • @lfabresm it depends on which operator you're with. i'm with o2. i think vodafone disabled it but please correct me if i am wrong.

  • @lfabresm get an app for it. It will unlock tethering without rooting, at&t locks it.

  • could you be kind enough to answer me a question ?

so,creating a wifi hotspot for other devices is possible, but creating it and using it are free? or you just end up paying for it like the 3G ?

ty very much for your time

    have a nice day

  • @ePicXeD you will pay for what the devices connected used

  • Sorry to be a newb at this but I do have a question... This gsm can create his own hotspot and use it itself?

Or is it just internet through your mobile provider and in doing so paying for your connection?

  • @MW2Profane you have to pay for your data from a mobile network unfortunetly

  • is free to use n does the tmobile galaxy s 4h has it?

  • @metonnio you can install an app from the market, searxh for wifi hotspot

  • you can use it as a ROOOOTERR!!!..... bahahahah its called a ROUTER fuckwit...

  • @dablackpimp pardon my english, lol

  • @MobileReviewSite ... hha its all good... sorry man i didnt realise i sed "fuckwit"... my apology!

  • @dablackpimp that's cool man. hope you enjoyed the vid

  • FUCK your accent is so annoying!

  • @Wazzuppi so sorry. can't help i'm from london!

  • nice tnx 4 the update :) but i have one question what is the name of the widget that shows u how many active apps u have :) look nice but can't really find a good one :)

  • @jackhol it's called 'program manager' and it comes installed on the phone.

  • Sorry - it actually works a treat. Was just down to spotty coverage. Thanks again for posting.

  • @mbarbarelli glad you got it sorted

  • OK. So, I just called Samsung UK support about this. They say that the feature doesn't work yet and update will be provided once the fix is ready? Yet, you seem to be able to use it without a problem?

  • Thanks for this - exactly what I needed. Still having a problem though. Once I follow your directions, I connect to the Galaxy S2 hotspot with a Windows 7 laptop. But, although I can connect successfully, Windows says that I have no internet access. (no IPv4 or IPv6 connectivity) Any idea why this is? Maybe my provider (T-mobile) doesn't support tethering? Thanks.

  • If it come out for T-Mobile totally getting this

  • It creates an ad-hoc or infrastructure network???

  • @lfcorullon The standard Wifi app acts in Infrastructure Mode, Android Wifi Tether (Market) does this also but I think you set it to use AD-Hoc mode instead.

  • @MobileReviewSite Thank you for this great answer! Thanks!!! I need a phone that works with my Asus EeePad Transformer, but this tablet only works with infrastructure networks. My HTC Inspire works fine, but not works with my carrier 3G frequence, only connect in Edge. Thanks again!

  • thanks.. for the info...

  • can you change the network SSID name and the password? i tried to change but cannot.

  • @MrGorgon007 you can change the SSID and set a password in the setting, just tap on 'configure portable wifi..' and then it will give you the options

  • usb debugging doesnt have any effect on the speed of an android phone dude.

  • Is it gud to leave usb debugging ticked?coz i herd it stops fone from lagging.used to do it on my desire hd
