Those who have actually read the entire saga know what happens in Breaking Dawn. And if the movie has the scenes which aren't exactly family oriented, it's gonna be rated R. The people who say "more teens than adults watch it" are fucking stupid. You obviously have not taken into consideration the little girls that will be watching this movie. Stop complaining. Whatever happens, happens. If it's rated R and you're old enough, watch it, if not, take your fucking mommy and shutup.
To be honest, I have read all the books and I dont even want my 11 year old sister reading the book (Breaking Dawn). Its to old for her. The books are to much for tweens to be reading in the first place! I told my sister to read REAL LITERATURE! I told my mom that if she takes my 11 year old sister to see this movie it would be bad parenting because of the content. Its taking kids to movies like this that is cause out society to fall apart!!!
Best is PG-15 or PG-16. I WANT TO SEE SOMETHING! I DIDNT WAIT 4 YEARS FOR ONE KISS, STARING AT EYES AND THEN SOME MOON LIGHT END SCENE! Kids which are 13 and 14 can watch this at home when they take movie from net. Im scared of getting dissapointed. Most of fans were waiting for this. And how kids act today, Im sure even 13 years old kids wanna hardcore sex -.-' And filming is over. Does someone knows how is rating??? ANSWER PLEASE.
Although PG-13 is nice for a larger audience, I think it should be true to the book. I'd rather it be rated R so they could keep in the most important parts, than to take out most of it and change/remove stuff to make it more "appropriate" so that it can be PG-13. If R is the rating it needs to be like the book and not sugarcoat things, then that's what it should be. It is what it is.
I'm 13 and i have read the books; i have also read the tomorrow series and in those books it goes into a lot more detail than it does in breaking dawn. i have been waiting so long and so patiently to see breaking dawn; if I'm too young to see it i will be shattered... but let me just say now if they make it R they are probably gonna lose a lot of box office money..... just sayin'.
@lovewithyoursoul yea it deserves to loose money the movies are bad! And what are you doing reading books like that at 13? What is this world coming to? At 13 I was reading, Charlie Bone, Where the Red Fern Grows, The Outsiders, Harry Potter, Series of Unfortunate Events and things that were allowed in school libraries.
i hope its rated R because if its not then the movie wont be as true to the book as possible but if its pg13 then all their gunna show is rob and kristen under covers kissing and the birth scene will be crap
i´m old enough to see the rated r movie, but it is unfair for the younger fans,if it`s going to be rated r film. Anyway i can wait to see it! It`s going to be epic!
@MslovelyRobert I know its like we paid a bunch of movie to see the rest of the movies and they are going to rate the last one R! STUPID MOVE MAKERS!!!
I vote you don't have an opinion on how it is rated unless you know the intensity of the scenes presented in the book!! Which means if you actually read Breaking Dawn, you have an idea of how it SHOULD be rated!!
I want it as authentic to the book as possible!...which means it would probably be R rated...just saying...all the little children can find some way to watch it even if it's R
if this movie becomes rated R ten days after my birthday im not gunna see part 1 or two of breaking dawn maynnn and im turning thirteen soon omg i wish that it would be pg13 maynnn i soo pd right now imma start a club not to see it hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha JUST KIDDING BUT SERIOUSLY RATED-R ?? COME ON THIS IS MAKING MEH MADD!!!! :(
if this movie becomes rated R ten days after my birthday im not gunna see part 1 or two of breaking dawn maynnn and im turning thirteen soon omg i wish that it would be pg13 maynnn i soo pd right now
Honestly I think the movie is going to be waaaaaaaaaay over done. I mean the books arent as graphic as the movie seems to be, but they do tell of some pretty intense aftermath. I don't think it needs to be rated R, but I can't tell the company how to make this movie so whatever happens happens :/
You do know that most kids under the age of 18 search porn and sex videos. It's not like we haven't seen it. We've all seen a baby being born. We know what it is.
@iiluvdino because there are like three fat ass sex scenes. if you are talking about book integrity, it has to be rated R. it would be stupid not to. and i believe 17 is a teenager so your argument is void.
Rated R is SO NOT AN OPTION!!! ALL PEOPLE WHO WATCH IT ARE LIKE 13 & 14 YRS OLD!! HOW CAN THEY DO THIS! I MEAN WHAT THE HELL SUMMIT U'LL MAKE NOE PROFIT!
@HarryPotterfan79441 actually first off, please learn how to spell correctly. secondly I know many more people who are over 17 who watch twilight than people under 17. so they would make plenty profit. Plus if you are under 17 you can have your parents take you... or anyone over 18 in actuality. so don't rant about if it happens to be rated R. They have really no choice on what to rate it. Depending on the intensity of the sex and birthing scenes, it may be too graphic for pg-13
@HarryPotterfan79441 Yes, but it's one thing to read about it, and another thing to see it. And if you can handle it you would be able to still go with your parents or another 18+ year old
@kimmicub17 Yes, I agree, but they MADE the books/movies for teens in the first place! It should be M 15 in my opinion, thats gonna get wayyy more people in than if it's R rated.
@emlauren96 I saw New Moon in the theater. When Edward started to unbutton his shirt everyone was like "OOOOoooooOOHhhh........" But then when it came off, they started booing and my friend next to me yelled "PUTCHO SHIRT BACK ON!" xD it was epic.
Why do movies always have to take things like that too far?!? it is still possible to make the movie pg-13, just cut tht scene! if its rated R i refuse to watch it.
I really hope they don't rate it R but then again if they don't it will take out all the good scenes. I read all 4 books and breaking dawn was pretty intense....but either way im gonna see it! I don't think ill be able to resist lol
This is ridiculous, it should be rated R in America. Im in the UK and i think it should be rated higher here as well! The book isnt for younger children so neither should the movie be. There are a lot of mature issues in the book that if little kids saw in the movies would possibly scare them. Hopefully it will be R rated, the younger ones can watch it in a few years when they can actually understand whats happeng.
i do not care bout the "parts" .. i juz wanna see the movie..... i Really Really really wanna see the movie.. if it is R rated i might not be able to see it.. :(
Rob is right, if it's rated PG-13, yes they'll get a bigger audience but it will be torn down by the true Twilighters, because it'll cut everything out.
I just want the movie to be just like the book, it would be AWESOME if somehow they could somehow keep all the gore with a PG-13 rating, If they made it an R rated movie alot of the fans wont be able to see it, so it would be a very bad mistake...I'm not saying i wouldn't see it if it was R but it would be cool if they could get all the intensity that was in the book to a PG-13 rating!
I think if they made it Rated R, not only would it expand the film and allow it to feature more of what was in the novel *in more detail*, but it could be a bit more like a horror film. Breaking Dawn isn't all clouds and fluffy puppies....it's more brutal than the other ones.
But not like that's gonna stop the kiddies from seeing it....they'll just be scarred for life.
Many of you are not taking into account the age range of which the books were actually written for which was 11-16 roughly, also the author Stephenie meyer is a mormon which means she doesnt watch R rated movies I highly doubt she would allow one of her books to be turned into something she wouldnt be able to view
like someone is going to take a 2 year old to the theater anyways. i think it should be rated R or there will be a lot of missing parts, which the fans want to see. i really dont think that there r more younger twi-hards than older twi-hards. take you parents for crying out loud or ur older sister whatever works. we want to see everything,(maybe not eevverrything)
im only 14 going to be 15 by the time the movie comes out but i reckon that it does need to be R rated. I'd still go see it and i dont think robert had it exactly right it has horror themes but the movie is not a horror. From the book being turned into a movie it needs to be R rated to show the intense seens and the birth, sex and fighting scenes. This movie was meant for older and more mature audience and i think it should remain that way. I cant wait to see it.
To all the people freaking out really needs to deal with it. I hope it is rated R because that iswhat it needs. 90% of the book is in fact graphic. Sex, birth, and fighting. All thing that give movies are higher rating. The book, when it firt came out was demographed for young adults between the age of 16 - 25. Since the movie it has lowered the books age gruop. I know it sucks but you just gotta deal with it. Wouldn't you rather see it to its fullest extent rather then all Disney-ed out?
That would suck and it wouldn't do as well especially considering that a majority of their audience is TEENAGE girls. Aka girls that can't see R rated movies.
Has anyone seen the leaked photos ??? Ahh.. if you have.. there is no way from the sex scene footage can this be rated PG-13 ! Especially with that one scene where Bella is doing the spread eagle left off and leaked birth-scene :) The Motion Picture of America will screen the film if it is approperiate for a PG-13 rating... if they think it's an R-rated movie than Bill Condon will have to go back and edit this scenes out...
If scenes are THAT disturbing that they have to bump it up to an 'R' rating, I will probably not even see the movie. I'm an adult and I can not stomach gore in a movie. I did not even like reading certain scenes from Breaking Dawn in the book, it was way too graphic. I was hoping they would dumb it down for the movie, as they seem to have for the previous three.
I'm pretty sure Stephanie Meyer does not want any movie in the franchise to go beyond PG-13.
I Used To Work In A Movie Theater Box Office, I Know How To Sell Tickets
A Rating Of R Only Means Restricted, All You Need Is A Person Over The Age Of 17 To Buy The Ticket And Watch The Movie With You.... Its Not Really That Hard To Get To See The Movie..... I Can Still Take My 9 Year Old And My 3 Year Old To See The Movie. They Can Stop Me, Im The One Buying The Ticket, And Sitting Right Next To Them!! :)
@TheSoccerluvr15 The book isn't "horror" though. It's not scary. The only disturbing part is when Renesmee is born. What is Rob talking about? Horror - no. Unless they're not sticking to the book...
ugh I turn 16 next month and my mom is so freaking strict about ratings. My dad won't care but.... I'm not obsessive (ew) so I suppose it doesn't matter but I'd like to see it. In the book. Steph doesn't write the sex scene and the only other "disturbing" part is when Renesmee is born. And that's it. I don't get why it would be rated R unless the movie peeps are purposely making it more graphic than the book.
But they deff. won't make as much money if it's rated R. most of the fans can't see it
It just can't be R rated!!!!! I'm only 15 years old and Breaking Dawn is my favorite book of the saga!!!!!!!! It just can't!!! I want to see it on the big screen in the premiere!!!! :)
This sucks because I won't be able to see it in Cinemas (no big screen :( coz i'll be 15 but I will jst have to see it on dvd and so will all the underage people we jst wont see it at the movies.
I personally think it shouldn't be rated R because I am a young teen and I love the Twilight Saga. My sister has read the Twilight Series twice and she said its really good. I think the whole idea of having it rated R is really stupid and I really want to watch it. My sister told me they skip the whole sex scene in the book. Lots of people (especially teens and adults) love Twilight and would hate for it to be rated R. I have been looking forward to the movie and would hate for it to be R rated.
My 9 year old sister watched New Moon at a friend's house. Since she liked it and it wasn't too bad, we watched Twilight together and had her close her eyes at some parts. But when Eclipse came out I told her she couldn't watch it, because it's a little more mature than the other movies, because they're becoming adults. It's as simple as that. Parents and guardians make the choice. I don't see why it would be rated R though, because the movies are based on young adult (teen) novels.
I think it deserves to be R, but I know I dont think I'd be allowed, and my parents wouldn't take me cause they dont want to see, so I'd have to wait...
BUT you know there is such a thing as 14A in Canada..i dont know about the states
Are you guys forgetting that PG 13 movies are almost the same as R movies anyway? To get an R rating, it would have to say the F word more than once, and have some sort of explicit sex/nudity. Violence is not that much of an issue. Considering that the book didn't go into explicit detail, I don't understand why it would need an R rating.
Are these people idiots? The saga isn't "going horror," it's following the original story line. The entire series was not meant for little kids...that's why it was rated PG 13! It makes sense that this one would be more mature because they get married and have sex for the first time. The series was meant for mature young adults, not kids. Parents shouldn't let their kids see it if it's not appropriate for them.
@acidstars9 ya i know. when i saw all three movies in theatres the little kids were there and they were like all not liking it. mature audiences only.
I would still see this movie, even if I was not old enough. It should be rated R because if it was rated PG-13, they would have to change the entire film. The younger kids will still find a way to see the movie, (w/ their parents) but it should be rated R. Besides, it is more a mature book, as others have said here, and younger kids should not be reading that kind of stuff until they are mature enough to understand and handle it.
Oh and one more thing it's kind of a question I get that Mackenzie foy would be allowed to see the movie because she plays reneesme but to be honest I don't think it's fair for people who are like 13/14/15 because they want be allowed to see the movie weather a 11 year old girl will be able to
@patriciacolette i agree with the firs point but stefanie said that the birth scene will be done from bellas poin of view btw im 14 by the time the movie comes out ill be 15 n i really dont think that it will be mord scarier than the las egsorcysm or the ring or paranolmal activiy wich i n millions of teenagers my age or younger have seen
There are two parts that are definitely R. First one, night of crazy sex with a vampire who bruises her up pretty badly. Second one, the night Bella gives birth and Edward eats through her stomach to save the baby and then stabs his venom into her heart. Not exactly light reading. And, let's not forget Bella drinking blood and loving it while she is carrying the little multi-critter. BTW Stephanie Meyer did not intend for the series to be for young children or even young teens.
@patriciacolette All of those things could be in a PG 13 movie. Most of the time you get an R rating from sex/nudity or cussing. The standards are really dumb. So technically if the sex scene isn't too graphic I think they may be able to get a PG 13 rating.
the movie is already horror.well,at least more than the book.in the book there were more smiles and more happiness.and one thing tht totally bugs me is how wierd and distant rob and kristen seem in the movie.they r so awesome in the book."like magnets"
Its has to be rated r for it to be like the novel if it not rated r it might as well be a different movue as is there will most like be a lot of things cut out of the movie.
making a horror movie would be completely rediclous.
I honestly think that the book had real strange things going around but in a way i think that breaking dawn should be PG-13. Here is why there have been plenty of movies that have had nudity and sexual acts and some of thoses movies were
PG-13. Like titanic, that movie had plenty of nudty on paper and in person. And then the movie the note book. That movie had planey of sexual acts and the movie was still rated PG-13.
Breaking dawn PG-13 for sexual contant, partial nudty and violence
Stephanie Meyers has said multiple times that she does not want an R rating...and also, she has said that if they stick to the book, it won't be rated-R...and if you think about it, she's right. The book does a wonderful job of stopping certain scenes before they get too detailed which allows your mind to kind of create it's own ending. Because of her personal beliefs and the fact that the books are geared towards teenagers, I think it will have to be edited to be PG-13...
oh well...personally I hope it's rated PG-13...I mean all the other ones were, and The Saga has a firm fan-base....with some younger fans, and now Twilight's going horror?/.....I like BD the book...but I hope it gets PG-13!
Uhmm the last book sucked!!! getting married, getting the Jake jealous, getting Prego after one attempt of "Sex" then giving birth and dies but turns into a sparkling vampire, the only difference is that Jake imprints Renesme, thats it! ughhhh I like other Vampire novels, Stephenie you disappoint me :/ Sparkles??Really!! anyway! New Moon was my fav! Anne Rice Rocks! now get this fucking movie over with! :D
The movie turning into a horror is ok with me. I just don't want them to change much from the book. I personally like horror movies. When I watch them alone, I get scared. When I'm with some others, it doesn't bother me as much, but sometimes it has a bigger affect. Anyway, Twilight going horror is okay, but I'd much rather it stay thee way it is.
m 11 yrs old and i've read the Breaking Dawn book. It doesn't bother me. I think it should be PG-13, as long as parents are responsible and know what they are taking their kids to see, it should be okay. But they shouldn't cut things out, even if it is rated PG-13. Just as long as the parents know what they are doing, then it should be fine.
Im 14, almost 15. okay. I love twilight to death. and ive wanted BD to be rated R from the start. not cuz of the sex scene, but i have no problem with it. hah. anyway-- i will have to agree with rob. it would leave out too much of the story, and it would to say it in general, would suck. lets make it rated r. if your a true twifan, im sure you can make persuade your parents somehow... believe me. we all are very good at acting, its the target audience. we got this :D
i'm 13 and i watched it...so?

@HarryPotterfan79441 actually first off, please learn how to spell correctly. secondly I know many more people who are over 17 who watch twilight than people under 17. so they would make plenty profit. Plus if you are under 17 you can have your parents take you... or anyone over 18 in actuality. so don't rant about if it happens to be rated R. They have really no choice on what to rate it. Depending on the intensity of the sex and birthing scenes, it may be too graphic for pg-13
kimmicub17 8 months ago 8
@kimmicub17
But we've read the books! we know what it is! it's not like we're 3 yr olds watchin barney, OK! We're 13 & we can handle it!
HarryPotterfan79441 8 months ago
@HarryPotterfan79441 Yes, but it's one thing to read about it, and another thing to see it. And if you can handle it you would be able to still go with your parents or another 18+ year old
kimmicub17 8 months ago
@HarryPotterfan79441 you are so right. We can handle it. Y would they make the movie if the people who it was made for couldn't see it

The books were made for teenagers so why can't we watch it? Right?

@kimmicub17 Yes, I agree, but they MADE the books/movies for teens in the first place! It should be M 15 in my opinion, thats gonna get wayyy more people in than if it's R rated.

sunsetbabbii 9 months ago
This is ridiculous, it should be rated R in America. Im in the UK and i think it should be rated higher here as well! The book isnt for younger children so neither should the movie be. There are a lot of mature issues in the book that if little kids saw in the movies would possibly scare them. Hopefully it will be R rated, the younger ones can watch it in a few years when they can actually understand whats happeng.

I just want the movie to be just like the book, it would be AWESOME if somehow they could somehow keep all the gore with a PG-13 rating, If they made it an R rated movie alot of the fans wont be able to see it, so it would be a very bad mistake...I'm not saying i wouldn't see it if it was R but it would be cool if they could get all the intensity that was in the book to a PG-13 rating!
twitch2015 10 months ago
It could be rated PG-13 because if it's like the novel, they skip over the adult parts and go to the next day.

I cant wait to see it.
mybrainexploded 10 months ago
To all the people freaking out really needs to deal with it. I hope it is rated R because that iswhat it needs. 90% of the book is in fact graphic. Sex, birth, and fighting. All thing that give movies are higher rating. The book, when it firt came out was demographed for young adults between the age of 16 - 25. Since the movie it has lowered the books age gruop. I know it sucks but you just gotta deal with it. Wouldn't you rather see it to its fullest extent rather then all Disney-ed out?
rbolton2010 10 months ago

ladyquintala 10 months ago
@TheSoccerluvr15 The book isn't "horror" though. It's not scary. The only disturbing part is when Renesmee is born. What is Rob talking about? Horror - no. Unless they're not sticking to the book...
JonasxPone 10 months ago
ugh I turn 16 next month and my mom is so freaking strict about ratings.
But they deff. won't make as much money if it's rated R. most of the fans can't see it
JonasxPone 10 months ago

I personally think it shouldn't be rated R because I am a young teen and I love the Twilight Saga. My sister has read the Twilight Series twice and she said its really good. I think the whole idea of having it rated R is really stupid and I really want to watch it. My sister told me they skip the whole sex scene in the book. Lots of people (especially teens and adults) love Twilight and would hate for it to be rated R. I have been looking forward to the movie and would hate for it to be R rated.
justinbieblover13456 11 months ago
R..... u no most parents would take their kids 2 see it anyway..... or older friends/ older siblings excetera..... keep it R
brookeizthebest1221 11 months ago
My 9 year old sister watched New Moon at a friend's house. Since she liked it and it wasn't too bad, we watched Twilight together and had her close her eyes at some parts. But when Eclipse came out I told her she couldn't watch it, because it's a little more mature than the other movies, because they're becoming adults. It's as simple as that. Parents and guardians make the choice. I don't see why it would be rated R though, because the movies are based on young adult (teen) novels.

it should be 14A in canada.
GyMnAsTiCsL2 11 months ago

Parents shouldn't let their kids see it if it's not appropriate for them.
acidstars9 11 months ago
@acidstars9 ya i know. when i saw all three movies in theatres the little kids were there and they were like all not liking it. mature audiences only.

idk how it's gonna be PG13....If they want it 2 be good it should be R. I totally agree w/what rob says

mindfreak0525 11 months ago
I would still see this movie, even if I was not old enough. It should be rated R because if it was rated PG-13, they would have to change the entire film. The younger kids will still find a way to see the movie, (w/ their parents) but it should be rated R. Besides, it is more a mature book, as others have said here, and younger kids should not be reading that kind of stuff until they are mature enough to understand and handle it.
Pinkfire103 11 months ago
this needs to be rated r because how will they be able to be true to the book all the underage kids there worried about can just grab there mommy
Yazmine2345 11 months ago
Oh and one more thing it's kind of a question I get that Mackenzie foy would be allowed to see the movie because she plays reneesme but to be honest I don't think it's fair for people who are like 13/14/15 because they want be allowed to see the movie weather a 11 year old girl will be able to
lexi21080103 11 months ago
@lexi21080103 Whether you're allowed to see it or not is up to your parents, there's nothing "unfair" about it.
acidstars9 11 months ago
@patriciacolette i agree with the firs point but stefanie said that the birth scene will be done from bellas poin of view btw im 14 by the time the movie comes out ill be 15 n i really dont think that it will be mord scarier than the las egsorcysm or the ring or paranolmal activiy wich i n millions of teenagers my age or younger have seen
lexi21080103 11 months ago
@lexi21080103 People are freaking out it because of the sex scenes, not because it's going to be too scary.
acidstars9 11 months ago
There are two parts that are definitely R. First one, night of crazy sex with a vampire who bruises her up pretty badly. Second one, the night Bella gives birth and Edward eats through her stomach to save the baby and then stabs his venom into her heart. Not exactly light reading. And, let's not forget Bella drinking blood and loving it while she is carrying the little multi-critter. BTW Stephanie Meyer did not intend for the series to be for young children or even young teens.
patriciacolette 11 months ago
@patriciacolette All of those things could be in a PG 13 movie. Most of the time you get an R rating from sex/nudity or cussing. The standards are really dumb. So technically if the sex scene isn't too graphic I think they may be able to get a PG 13 rating.
acidstars9 11 months ago
the movie is already horror.well,at least more than the book.in the book there were more smiles and more happiness.and one thing tht totally bugs me is how wierd and distant rob and kristen seem in the movie.they r so awesome in the book."like magnets"

Its has to be rated r for it to be like the novel if it not rated r it might as well be a different movue as is there will most like be a lot of things cut out of the movie.
making a horror movie would be completely rediclous.
Monser88 11 months ago
I honestly think that the book had real strange things going around but in a way i think that breaking dawn should be PG-13. Here is why there have been plenty of movies that have had nudity and sexual acts and some of thoses movies were
PG-13. Like titanic, that movie had plenty of nudty on paper and in person. And then the movie the note book. That movie had planey of sexual acts and the movie was still rated PG-13.
Breaking dawn PG-13 for sexual contant, partial nudty and violence

YES I WILL WATCH IT IF IT'S RATED R!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, IF THEY DONT MAKE IT RATED R ITS GOING TO BE CRAPPYYYY!!
TheSmashProduction 11 months ago
Stephanie Meyers has said multiple times that she does not want an R rating...and also, she has said that if they stick to the book, it won't be rated-R...and if you think about it, she's right. The book does a wonderful job of stopping certain scenes before they get too detailed which allows your mind to kind of create it's own ending. Because of her personal beliefs and the fact that the books are geared towards teenagers, I think it will have to be edited to be PG-13...
