There is alot of emotion in Ronnie when he speaks of Tony and Geezer.Ibelieve that his death has huge effect on both of them, Say what you will, This was the best Sabbath.
@AlembicPools That could very well be true, look how many band personal hes gone through. With that said he was still one of the best voices metal has ever heard.
Man I can't get over Ronnie's passion and anger over Sabbath (regarding the DEHUMANIZER album) you can really hear the hurt in his voice for I do believe it was his fav.personal lineup he worked with. So glad his last album was with Sabbath and what a great song he said good-bye to us fans with...BIBLE BLACK
@ImmolateThyLord Yeah to be honest that album cover sucked! And from what I read that was Bill Ward's idea (way to go Bill) I think pictures of a band should be on the back or inside jacket but not ever on the front (unless your KISS) BLACK SABBATH has had some awesome covers (the first album is my pers.fav.) and they have had some LAME covers (PARAINOID is in my tops for crappiest covers of all time) I love SABBATH BLOODY SABBATH-HEAVEN AND HELL-MOB RULES-BORN AGAIN and THE DEVIL YOU KNOW
His comments on Sabbath and Dehumanizer are so true. It's such a shame that they abandoned the Dehumanizer lineup... It's easily my favourite of the Dio Sabbath albums, and probably my favourite Sabbath album overall. 'Stupid assholes'.
I want appogize to Mr Dio for not gining him the proper respect that he truly deserved while alive, he sure was an honest and caring man, with incredible talent this Man was, he seems to have a very good memory as well which tells me he must have sober a great deal of the time, Rock on in Heaven Ronnie!
No question, from 93 until 07 they didn't produce as good as they would have done it they would have stayed together. Many often wondered what Tony and Dio could have done even for 5 or 10 years. There were lost years.
"Hate is unfortunate. I think that is the reason this world has become what it's become. We have racism because of hate, not because of love. We have all of the bad things in this world because of hate. But, we are human beings, and once we realize we are the cancer that's been put on this earth by whatever power that might be.. I think that hate is a real necessity, unfortunately... Without Evil, there is no Good.. You gotta have a balance somewhere. It's unfortunate that people hate so much."
Its obivious Dio is angered and understandable. He is correct about Sabbath at the time and we were robbed fo great music. They didn't get it right until Heaven and Hell, and now he is gone. The message seems to be to let go of your egos and play to strive to be as good as you can. I can still remember how Tony, Geezer and Dio failed to continue. Dio released "strange Highways", and things just didn't seem right until they got back together. Then after releasing "The Devil.." it has ended.
I must respectfully disagree with the poster on Sabotage. I like maybe half the songs on that one. The last two songs especially seem like filler. The first 5 (albums) though for me are solid front to back. I love both Ronnie and Ozzy, but I'm really beginning to appreciate Dio more as a person. Sadly it feels posthumous.
Notice how he mentioned that Heaven & Hell was an album that showed the musicality of the other band members, not himself. Ronnie was a class act and a very honest man who spoke from his soul. A rarity in these times.
@thebishop72 yea i love what he says about that album, its so cool that he was able to reunite and recreate that great music. and so thankful i got to see it live. this will always be my favorite RJD interview, what a guy.
@KeVideo22 I was wondering that too. I think it was 'Strange Highways' because he mentioned Tracy G & Jeff Pilson being the musicians the band always should have had and this was the 1st album the played on.
@Diopriest2 yeah really sabotage one of my favorites from sabbath. hole in the sky, symptom of the universe, megalomania, the writ, some of the heaviest stuff sabbath put out with ozzy. technical ecstasy was an ok album dirty women was an awosome song. no disrespect to dio, but why did he have such a stick up his ass bout ozzy ? this interview was really good though i must say.
Glad Ronnie agrees that Last In Line is just as good, if not better than, Holy Diver. The Last In Line is the record that got me into Heavy Metal for the first time. "We Rock, Evil Eyes, Breathless, We Speed At Night, Eat Your Heart Out (the best!!). That was true metal for me. I also prefered Sacred Heart over Holy Diver when it came out , however listening back Holy Diver is the better of the two. "Invisible", "Dont talk to strangers" and "Shame on the Night" are true classics.
@WICD1969 I believe Ronnie say's that because for some strange reason SABOTAGE did horrible in sales? It's a phenonamal album and have no idea why it did not sale when it first came out. I don't know why BORN AGAIN sold horribly either
@clintbronson5 That's a good point you bring up. I thought they were both great albums. I think the reason why they didn't sell was a simple reason. A lot of the Sabbath hard cores unfortunately wrote Sabbath off after Ozzy was out of the band. Before even listening to the albums they just said thats it Sabbath is dead. I respect like and appreciate all eras of Sabbath. I think each one brought something special to the table.
@Diopriest2 Your totally right! Funny I am a DIE HARD SAB fan and the first song I ever heard was TURN UP THE NIGHT (mob rules) I was 12 yrs old and still remember thinking...Man this guy can sing! A friend of mine played me the PARANOID album and I really liked it but believe it or not I thought MOB RULES was better. I don't know but I take SIGN OF THE SOUTHERN CROSS & FALLING OFF THE EDGE OF THE WORLD over IRON MAN & WAR PIGS anyday
I will never listen to Live Evil the same way again

Dio was always good for a great interview..The guy doesn't give you no bullshit.
But Sabotage..That was (is) a classic....Never Say Die wasn't but I personally like it.
And Mob Rules WAS under-rated.
