Hacket did his solo a little differently during this Montreal show than we hear on other live recordings and/or bootlegs of the period. He rally improved a little more, and made the intro more mournful and melancholic. Really great. I don't think he ever played it that way again. The existing audio archive of the period, as well as the Seconds Out era, indicate that he did not. This is why the Montreal show is such a must have for Genesis fans.
"The general public, are ignorant and meddlesome outsiders who must be put in their place. They are to be spectators of action not participants who must be regimented to abandon any ideas about controlling their own lives. Their task is to develop a philosophy of futility and to follow orders while focusing their attention on more superficial things which comprise much of fashionable consumption."

@royceharper1 "If we were merely dealing with the law of averages, half of the events affecting our nation's well-being should be good for America. @royceharper1 This passage is from The Companions of Jehu--page 396--"You are ninnies! I have cheated all the time we've been playing, and you never found out. Great! Your videos are so much better than tommygun's (which are mostly just looped bits and pieces over another audio source..)! Do you have anything else from this 74 show?
I don't want to put the guy down but tommyguns videos aren't as rare as he makes out and are fairly easy to get hold of wheres Magogs are of superb quality and alot i've never seen before. Certainly don't buy the footage, you can download most of what he's got

Video is from at least 2 different concerts, but somebody at least did a good job of synchronizing the music with the videos...for a change.

is this 9/8 time in the middle section ?
talpajam 2 years ago
The middle section Keyboard solo is musically complex
Starting at 0:26: 2/4 | 4/4 | 2/4 | 13/16 :| 2/4 | 13/16 for a few, then into 15/16
Thats all the signatures in the keyboard solo, its just a matter of the correct arrangement. Hard for me to do here since I cannot post sheet music

There's a mistake in the keyboard part right at the beginning. I'm sure Banks loves having that immortalized...

Yep, I know.. Everything is available either on Dimeadozen or on Genesis Movement... :)
Magog on the other hand, as you say, has a lot of incredible footage of astoundingly good quality!

I feel sorry for the idiots lining Tommyguns pockets when all the material is free on Genesis Movement as it should be.
