  • You edit these videos on Windows 7 ?

  • Linux !!!

  • "I like rotating cubes and crap" LOL!

  • Mint should have it's own store. Mint should have it's own cloud.

  • I would like everyone to know that this video was featured in the Linux Mint Miro Community Page @ linuxmint(.)mirocommunity(.)org

  • Your bitcon site doesn't work for me in neither Firefox Nightly or in Chromium. (Running Arch Linux) :(

  • That "Arch on phone" thought gave me goosebumps :o

  • with the beard brian looks kinda like the dude

  • When you say you mined 3 coins, I guess you're using a mining pool?

  • @sharperguy Correct, deepbit.net ATM! It seemed to be the way to go for someone like my self who only has a few computers mining.

    -Chris

  • Legen - wait for it - Dary!!

  • Nice Minty review.

  • Linux 11 seems (to me) as easy to use as Windows - without having to be a tech-head. Not that I have anything against tech-heads because without them we'd be living next door to Fred Flintstone. But people want to just go into a computer - do their stuff and not fuss with coding at all on any level. So yeah - I find Linux Mint 11 intriguing and Pinguy OS is pretty slick though buggy here and there last I checked. My only gripe is the lack of effective Windows programs running through WINE.

  • LAS is seriously one of the best tech related shows I've ever seen. Most tech shows I've seen that have a couple or more people talking back and forth are nothing but nerds with overinflated egos trying to puff up how awesome they are cause they think they know more shit about software or tech companies than the other guy talking. I don't see that at all here or any other Jupiter shows.

  • @TheEpisteme That's because neither one of them know very much. hahaha.

  • @joepastafari ooh burn

  • @TheEpisteme TekHD, lockergnome, John4lakers, and all the of them are apple fanboy( with they denied ) that only care about the newest iPhone, or macbook. They're all idiots. good thing we have a show like this that shows the real side of tech and real mentally of the Geeks, that actually know something about what they are talk about. Long live Linux Action Show.

  • windows 8 looks like they added full screen windows phone emulation by default to windows 7

  • Best intro ever!

  • Best intro so far, followed by Inception one :)

  • Mint has had that software manager way before Ubuntu came up with their app store.

  • That ,,new UI" isnt a new windows ui shell, its in fact a start menu replacer, where you can access all your apps, wich are displayed as real-time tiles.Microsoft will include an app store too, so you could make apps and display them on the ,,windows marketplace", or just simpley download or buy already existing apps.

  • windows 8 looks like crap, linux mint all the way

  • Great show, very entertaning. I love you guys.

  • Mint 12 will surely move to Gnome 3 with Gnome-panel

  • @Linux4UnMe I think so too.

  • Mint 11 is Rockin! Can't be Beat

  • Thumbs up right after the intro, LAS is EPIC!!!

  • what about the diaspora project?

  • You guys are a lot of fun!

  • Linux Mint 11 is great.

  • ubuntu 11-04 pwns when you put it into the ubuntu classic desktop

  • not to be mean to all the people who put all there hard work into gnome 3

    BUT GNOME 3 FUCKING SUCKS.

  • What a bullshitt about Windows XP netbook- Ubuntu is much more resource hunry and battery life is waaaay worse.

Stop lying Lunduke - linux on netbooks SUCK,

  • @rasiakwood what does battery life got to do with the operating system?

Also, Ubuntu might suck for netbook, but try Cloud OS. That the shit"\!

  • @rasiakwood Try Arch Linux( with E17) on a netbook with a Atom d550, dual core and hyper treading , now that kicks ass. No, Linux does not suck on a GOOD netbook.

  • @lucatechxx i dont have time to play around with arch - i tried few lighweight distros and they all suck - battery life is much shorter when surfing the web or playing HD movies. Im sorry thats a FACT.

And WHAT is good netbook? I tried it on low end Samsung Netbook - single core, 1gb of ram - also on my new netbook Asus 1215N.

Result in both cases is the same - Windows 7 is more responsive and battery life is better.

  • epic intro :P

    made my day!

  • MoonOS is Way better gnome2 dirstro

  • yes with the gnome guys and ubuntu deciding to blow up there desktops i think we all will be finding a new distro to back in the fall. im the same way give me the old school 2d menus that say hears your friggen stuff. im using xfce myself due to this.

  • Swap out your heat lamps (lights) with some LED ones. All the same light, none of the bake. You just need a larger quantity of bulbs and fixtures IMO. But even if you tripple that, you're still using 50% the power. Without the heat and therefor the cooling needs.

  • I still like debian better then anything else.Good show.

  • I'm honestly hoping that Linux Mint Debian Edition finds a way to install drivers more easily. LMDE is faster than the regular version but as of now all my comps have intel graphics and broadcom wireless. Finding and installing said drivers in LMDE is a NIGHTMARE!

  • Love Linux Mint!!!!!

  • If you want HDMI on a netbook, your only option is getting one with an AMD fusion core. The only downside to that is they only ship with windows.

  • @tf2exe AMD fusion is really nice on Linux from what i heard form the Phoronix.

  • Love the amount of discussion between you two in this episode. Great show!

  • I can fit my brothers HP Mini in my pocket.

  • debian___________________ubuntu__mint

Ubuntu is much more different to debian then mint is to ubuntu

  • @FeelItRising nice

  • Win 8 looks nothing like Gnome 3. That's like saying a Toyota Corolla looks like a Ford Ranger, and what they have in common are tires and an engine.

  • @kamaboko1 hahahahahahahahahahahaha

  • nice episode... :)

  • Review OpenWRT/dd-WRT for routers.

  • GREAT intro!!- though the 'MMOrgue' opening should get a 'webby'...

  • Mint...meh. We will see when they have to either follow the crowd or go it alone.

  • @FeelItRising I felt that Mint is Ubuntu, but a shit ton better and nicer.

  • My ASUS EeePC 900 is running openSUSE gnome with the gnome 3 shell. :-) My desktop machine runs Pardus 2011. Windows 8 makes me want to barf. :-)

  • @MrGizmo757 Windows is very barf like. How is OpenSUSE holding up on the netbook?

  • @lucatechxx openSUSE is doing great on my NetBook. KDE dosen't work to well on it even though. i really Like the KDE netbook interface but its just to heavy on the weak hardware. but Gnome works great and the Gnome shell Works nice on such a small screen. the only issue i have with openSUSE on the Netbook is My battery Life is about 20 Mins Less. But i i think that's because Windows goes into power saving mode as soon as your switch to the battery wile SUSE dosen't have such a feature.

  • great intro! Bryan

  • Linux Mint review 31:20

  • @designernasser thanks :D

  • @Goolz sure :)

  • Knowing Microsoft, it certainly isn't a "cheap" knock-off.

  • @Naturality but is it still a knock-off, that the joke, right?

  • nice!

  • The intro that was...wait for it...epic!

  • @InfinitelyGalactic BEST INTRO... Wait for it... EVER!

  • @InfinitelyGalactic actually its: "it's gonna be LEGEN ...wait for it... DARY" *quoting barney stinson there
