You should listen carefully to what he said and he states that although his father was a pastor and he grew up in church he wasn't raised around gospel & soul. So either you misunderstood him or you're ignorant to the fact that gospel music DOESN'T encompass all christian music.This is coming from someone who was raised with nothing but gospel, soul, and R&B. Not trying to offend you I'm just saying you know.
