I have just seen fighters who fight consistently, and win consistently, and simply don't get the press Tito gets...He mainly gets what he does, not because of his skills but because of his MOUTH. Lots of fighters get injuries, and come back and fight even stronger. Tito likes the glory, not the actual fight...THAT's MY POINT. Yeah, most fighters like that, but they enjoy the fight. But his ego far overshadows his talent. He has talent but he's by no means the best---Another point.

I have alot of respect for Tito. I think he has grown up alot recently which was reflected in his appearance as a coach on the Ultimate Fighter. In his prime he had an appeal which brought many new fans to MMA. It was clear that he felt he was not been given the financial rewards for his effort during this time, which was simarly reflected through the departure of Randy Coutour and Tim Silvia. It maybe that Tito's former arrogance limited the patience of his employers and his place in the UFC!
The childish arrogance is still there. It's not as apparent in every interview but it hasn't dissipated completely. He blames his string of mediocre performances in on a back injury. He talks about his departure being the UFC's loss of his timeless greatness, as though he'd be competitive with the top of the LHW division. Even his better fights (Rashad, Forrest, Vitor) in the last few years have been highly favorable decisions against opponents who would likely dismantle him now.
he's had a back injury, and a knee injury, those are documented fact so i dont get your point. he beat forrest and vitor straight up and the draw with rashad was a perfect score, p.s. rashad admits he had excess vaseline on his body in that fight and doesnt know how it got there, you can find the vid of him saying that on this site.
Tito was once a great fighter. WHEN HE WAS FIGHTING NOBODYS. His first real test against Chuck exposed him and his weakness! He has a lot of bravado, backed up by a less than impressive ground attack. If he cant shoot on his oppenent, then he is finished.

I agree but Tito didn't have the positioning right for that Triangle to do anything...Rogan was screaming making a bigger deal about it than it deserved. Rogan does that a lot even though he's a brown belt in BJJ...strange. I guess he's just trying to hype up the audience. Even when they ask Machida about it he says he wasn't in any real danger but the Triangle did surprise him.

I have just seen fighters who fight consistently, and win consistently, and simply don't get the press Tito gets...He mainly gets what he does, not because of his skills but because of his MOUTH. Lots of fighters get injuries, and come back and fight even stronger. Tito likes the glory, not the actual fight...THAT's MY POINT. Yeah, most fighters like that, but they enjoy the fight. But his ego far overshadows his talent. He has talent but he's by no means the best---Another point.

I have alot of respect for Tito. I think he has grown up alot recently which was reflected in his appearance as a coach on the Ultimate Fighter. In his prime he had an appeal which brought many new fans to MMA. It was clear that he felt he was not been given the financial rewards for his effort during this time, which was simarly reflected through the departure of Randy Coutour and Tim Silvia. It maybe that Tito's former arrogance limited the patience of his employers and his place in the UFC!

The childish arrogance is still there. It's not as apparent in every interview but it hasn't dissipated completely. He blames his string of mediocre performances in on a back injury. He talks about his departure being the UFC's loss of his timeless greatness, as though he'd be competitive with the top of the LHW division. Even his better fights (Rashad, Forrest, Vitor) in the last few years have been highly favorable decisions against opponents who would likely dismantle him now.

he's had a back injury, and a knee injury, those are documented fact so i dont get your point. he beat forrest and vitor straight up and the draw with rashad was a perfect score, p.s. rashad admits he had excess vaseline on his body in that fight and doesnt know how it got there, you can find the vid of him saying that on this site.

Tito was once a great fighter. WHEN HE WAS FIGHTING NOBODYS. His first real test against Chuck exposed him and his weakness! He has a lot of bravado, backed up by a less than impressive ground attack. If he cant shoot on his oppenent, then he is finished.

Like who wouldn't want to see Tito Ortiz vs Frank Shamrock 2? I guess Frank is also a 2nd rank fighter but it would be a good fight. How about Renato vs Tito in Affliction. Not so much of a 2nd class fight.
