No kidding. Heck, even just -one- pass play used repeatedly will do. I've won most of my games using nothing but "Flood" while on offense. The CPU just rarely ever bothers to stop me from making 30~40+ yards a play. It's hilarious, I love it.
Granted, I play the SNES version, so no idea if it makes that much difference. But I'd at least guess not, in this case.
@BohepansTheThird I use "Flood" on the goal-line or 3rd-and-short situations, mostly 'cuz I can't even get a yard on the ground most of the time! lol. Other than that, I use both "hail mary" plays (can't recall the names) . I've played both the Genesis & SNES games (the latter on an emulator) and I think the Genesis version was better, due to better music & sound (as I've found the case to be for most sports games that went to multiple consoles). Gameplay was the same for both, basically.
In fact, both this game and the Blitz series were made by Midway. You could say High Impact Football and Super High Impact were the forerunners to the Blitz series.
(HIF was released in 1990 for the arcades, SHI was released in 1991 for the arcades, and the Blitz series started in 1997 with the arcade version of NFL Blitz.)
I have NO idea how to play a football game if my life depended on it. I especially don't understand what the plays mean.
