@cicciarelliam Yes it's a real channel on dish network. The Earth is moving but you can't seem to see it because the satellite moves along with the Earth's rotation. The camera is mounted on the satellite that brings all the channels to dish network so if it stayed in one spot as the Earth rotated then we wouldn't get a signal except for only a few hours a day because there would be no line of sight. I hope this answer helps. You should check it out if you know anyone with dish network.
How cool! That is so amazing. I love this channel, but what I can't figure out is what the little colorful stars are when the sun is completely blocked by the Earth. You can just see a sliver of light around the top part of the Earth and everything else is completely dark except a ton of colorful lights.
Do you have any insight on what these might be? Maybe satellites?
@minka989 Its the effect of cosmic radiation on the cameras, cameras can't take radiation that well to produce a perfect image. I made the same mistake before. :P
is this real footage when you watch this on the dish earth channel? if so why cant you see the earth moving?
