@Seattlecarnut They are BumGenius diapers. We bought a little over a dozen and they lasted for over 3 years! We saved a ton of money on diapers. We also spent more on water and laundry soap, but using a high efficiency washer and non scented soap wasn't nearly as costly as disposables.
@Seattlecarnut She's now a little over 3 1/2 years old. I discovered that by putting a pair of short, bottoms or even little toddle panties over the diapers stopped her from removing them. It was also not that big of an issue cleaning them. It was simple to just dump any solids into the toilet, then sort of snap/slide the insert into the diaper pail followed by the shell. I washed diapers once/day or so. At night we would add a few extra inserts and she'd stay dry all night.
@Seattlecarnut Only at night. We've been using "pullups" more and more so she can use the potty on her own at night. We're starting to see more dry nights. I believe she'll have it under control by sometime this winter. During the day she uses the potty on her own. She potty trained rather easily at around 3 years with little coaxing from us. She only fell in once!! LOL
@Darter02 It's too bad most people feel that way. I would think that it would generally be cleaner, since you're not throwing the diaper into the trash, and in turn, into the landfills.
I've always loved babies and children who wear cloth diapers. I've only seen two of them so far. They look so cute when wearing thm.

@Darter02 Unfortunately, they're also just as easy for her to unfasten. How old is she now?

@Darter02 Sweet! Some children potty train differently from others. From what I've been told, I wasn't out of diapers until I was 5 yrs old!

@Darter02 That makes sense. From what I was told, I was 4 or 5 yrs old before I was finally toilet trained and out of diapers.

@Darter02 Why do you reckon most parents use disposable diapers rather cloth diapers?
Seattlecarnut 6 months ago
@Seattlecarnut Most folks I've talked to think it will be a messy, gross thing to deal with. It's really not.
