I'm from Italy, but I'm near Milan. Unfortunately the situation is worst than it appears in TV, but our civil protection, the firemen and the Red Cross are working to help people. There are a loto of tent and 5000 hotel rooms on the coast to protect them, but the gouvernment says that money are necessary to buy food and clothes. Today is national mourning, we Italians are very sad. Thanks for your thoughts international friends.

what if the ocean is like one big fridge keeping the globe in check.

now the water is getting hotter and disasters are more frequent.

it seems like a pretty good idea that the ocean is what is keeping the globe cool and now warming by only a few degrees may cause more earthquakes as the continental plates are floating on magma. if the temp rises by a few degrees this will cause larger movement within these plates i think there are going to be some major quakes coming up in our history.

the heat of the atmosphere has nothing to do with the forces that drive plate tectonics.  WArming oceans will result in more drought, and more hurricanes/cyclones. The temp of the surface is nowhere near the temps within the earth.
