  • wow, Gliscor got REALLY lucky with that instant death move. yeah, i also suspect the AI to cheat at Battle Frontier due to my own experiences. i only play casually (with EV training) but the Gliscor i trained is awesome! too bad i didn't teach him any attack moves, lol!

  • @olimond It's not too late to teach it some attack moves, lol

  • we all know that the AI cheats, but you did some stupids mistakes, like using charm twice against and hypre cutter gliscor (unless you were sacrificing your togekiss, whicg it werent the smartess idea, either)

im 99999& sure that the programmer gave the AI more chance to land a critical hit and OHKO moves like horn drill,fissure,etc....thats bullshit

  • @ChrisTheBest1992 In the video description I linked to my Smogon post which explains everything I did. Do you really think I'd do something that 'stupid' if I was able to get a 293 streak with a Togekiss team? Of all my Pokemon, Togekiss was the safest to sacrifice, because switching out would potentially be a sacrifice of whatever I switch in. The main reason I lost is that Hippowdon is of the very few Pokemon in the game that can survive 2 of Garchomp's Outrages.

  • @DrDimentio understood

  • @DrDimentio I love Garchomp, I have one of my own (Jolly SD Sweeper) and it's powerful as hell after a SD. But I believe any respectable Steel type with decent defense could take a 3 turn Outrage from Chomp. Even Choice Banded. Dedicated Physical walls with alot of investment like Skarmory, Registeel, Bronzong, and Metagross could sponge Outrages all day. I see Skarm doing it best though, since it has access to instant recovery with Roost.

  • I'm using

    Lucario

    Gyarados

    Garchomp

    Wanna ask why?

  • @walliice Not particularly... it's quite obviously because they're good Pokemon, lol.

  • why charm twice? if you knew he had hyper cutter

  • @Matheuspokelover That's why in my video description I have a link to my Smogon post where I explained my actions in detail... I had to sacrifice Togekiss since its other moves were riskier or equally useless, and switching to another Pokemon would've let Gliscor KO one of my actual attacking Pokemans, which I couldn't afford to lose.

  • If i'm being honest you should have swords danced with your Garchomp whilst the sub was up before you outraged and you should have killed the Hippowdon sooner.

  • @BoshCraver This battle was basically unwinnable without hax on my side, no matter what I did. Besides, it hardly matters since I later got a 646 streak with a better team, as shown in that other video.

  • @DrDimentio I didn't see the other video. So i apologise and congratulate you on the 646 streak

  • @BoshCraver That's ok, and thanks!

  • how do you breed pokemon with both iv's 31? i've tried that and i read that its only possible to get 31 and the other something like 21 or 29 so i fail to understand how, unless there is some kind of trick to do it could you help me?

  • @AceKarizo Yes there is a trick for getting flawless IVs and shinies, but a very complicated one... it's called RNG abuse. If you search 'smogon rng abuse' you should be able to find the long guide about it.

  • Good Ev training 4 the garchomp, buuuut not as good 4 registeel.....

  • @GarchompIsNotAnUber The EVs on Registeel are designed perfectly for a few specific KOs after 6 Curses, while still being as defensive as possible with that. It wouldn't work as well with maximized defenses, trust me.

  • @DrDimentio yer but still, the ev's still couldve been higher..............but garchomp's IV's were 31 on attack and speed-that takes ages 2 breed 4 it!!!!

  • @GarchompIsNotAnUber No, you can't go higher than a total of 510 EVs... as for Garchomp, breeding for just 2 flawless IVs is really quick and easy, and since then I've easily bred 31-31-31-31-31-31 Pokemon just as quickly with RNG abuse.

  • lets face it everyone battle tower isnt fighting fairly like guillotine/sheer cold/horndrill always hit 75% accurately even though its supposed to have only 30% accuracy ive experienced it myself I was aiming for 100 win streak im already at 81 and a goddamn pinsir came out and just spammed guillotine IT DIDNT MISS AT ALL not to mention some moves like ice beam or flamethrower that only have 10% chance to inflict status when battle tower uses it it inficts statsprb most of the time ITS NOT FAIR!

  • @garchompelago Yeah, I noticed that during my hundreds of hours wasted on the Tower...

  • @DrDimentio items 100% accurate moves never misses moves with secondary effects always activates even though its supposed to be just 30% when battle tower uses double team just using 1 is enough for you to MISS EVERYFUCKING TIME while you on the other hand +6 double team and I still got hit...BY A DYNAMIC PUNCH!!!(experienced it myself) and for some reason (just a while ago)im playing black battle subway I was beaten by a pinsir with choice scarf the move it used? guillotine >.>

  • Thank God you don't have to deal with Battle Subway Vaporeon spam.

  • @Pokeathlon What's with Vaporeon in the Battle Subway?

  • @DrDimentio It's fast, pretty bulky especially on the Special Defense. Not to mention it takes out Garchomp within two hits, which is my sweep.

It's probably because I run Golurk, Gliscor and Garchomp, which is why I'm EV training a Ferroseed.

At least you don't have to get a 100 streak.

  • @Pokeathlon Yeah, I can see how that team suffers from the common attack combination of Water/Ice. Ferrothorn would be a good addition. I'll probably find it harder to get a 49 streak in Doubles (already done in Singles of course), because I'm not used to it.

  • I think you lost because you were trying to Charm a Hyper Cutter Gliscor and spam Substitute. Just sayin'. Though I guess you didn't really have a choice with your only attack being Iron Head against that Hippowdon.

  • @KachiOya There was no safer option. Trust me.

  • @DrDimentio

I also don't understand why'd you used Amnesia, not curse. Amnesia is totally useless since you fighting physicals (hippo and gliscol on bench).

  • @Stino7777777 Curse lowers speed, meaning Hippowdon would become faster and be able to use Fissure *before* I can use Substitute for protection. Amnesia was turn-wasting in the hope that it would spam Fissure until it ran out of its 5 PP.

  • jokes about french culture are always funny.

  • When a tactic is to complicated you always come to a point where you srcew it up yourself, but if not, the ohko pokemon do it for you.

  • @mortenbakke Indeed... although Trick teams are quite simple. It was definitely the OHKO Pokemans in this case.

  • @brunswick001 Heh. Well, my Pokemon nicknames are a bit obscure usually.

  • @brunswick001 Because it spams Guillotine - look up Guillotine on Wikipedia to see why that makes it French.

  • @DrDimentio french revolution brah

  • You should have used iron defense instead of amnesia since hippowdon is obviously a physical attacker.

  • @hirschman23 Um, I only had Curse for Defense, and since that also lowers Speed, he would then outspeed me, meaning he could easily KO with Fissure before I could use Substitute. That's why I wanted to Sub then Curse... but critical hits screwed that up.

  • Name of music please .

  • @TMD98 Or you could've just read the video description...

  • Have you uploaded this video onto the GTS?

  • @alexa500 Nah, because I have a dodgy Wi-Fi connection, so I use it as little as possible. I'd be more inclined to upload my Battle 647 loss, anyway.

  • @DrDimentio Aaah you have so much talent ;n; Well please give me a shout if you upload one of your videos. I'll save it on my VS Recorder :D!

  • @alexa500 Well, not much compared to Jumpman16 who has a streak well over 2400... yep, I'll make sure you know if I upload anything to GTS.

  • wait, it says egg hatch on december 11...

this vid was uploaded on december 18...

so you mangaged to get a drapion leveled up 87 times in one week?

  • Yes, I always train my Pokemon quite intensively. Once Drapion is at a high enough level I fight the Elite 4 like crazy. With a Lucky Egg it's not too long...

  • im srry Dr.D u lost at 294 ur doing better dan me xD

  • It's okay, I've quit the Tower anyway after a certain battle recently. Thanks.

  • Impressive.

  • Thanks. (I've given up on the Tower after a certain event happened......)

  • What happened?

  • I saved the video (contemplating an upload, possibly titled 'Skill is Meaningless') - basically lead Rhydon gets Quick Claw activation, Stone Edge kills Togekiss (he crits CritMagnet just for fun), then Horn Drill hits Garchomp, breaking Sub and then KOs with Earthquake since he survives my own EQ. Then Quick Claw + Horn Drill hits on Registeel. What a load of BS.

  • Wow. Well, grats on getting it that far. I dunno what my record is, not even 100 though I know that.

  • Thanks for the congrats. Well, if you ever want to get to 100 - it's quite 'easy' with a Trick team, trust me!

  • Hold on, you're still going at the Tower? And Peterko lost at the 2,363rd battle? God, school's been keeping me away longer than I thought!

  • Indeed, because I'm insane - perhaps as insane as Peterko and Jumpman. Peterko lost at 2364, and it took him 2.5 months of battling.

  • Nvm I just read the rest of the description. Your record is 314, wow.

  • Yep, although 314 was where I lost, so the record was 313.

  • Wow that's still pretty far to get in the Tower, at least for me it'd be VERY far. Congrats. So your personal record is 300something?

  • Thanks for the congrats. And yeah, my highest record appears in the video on the board thing.

  • Oh man that sucks that you were so close to your old record. I can't even get past the 62nd battle with the same team you used to get a 196 win streak. 5/5 Better luck next time.

  • Yep (whoops, I wrote 284 in the title - mean 294), 20 battles less than my record. Really? Well, that's bad luck you must be having... hope you do that eventually. Yep, I plan on using Drapion next time. Thanks for the rating.

  • Woops I forgot to click the rating but I will do now.:P

  • Thanks for the rating.

  • What where you trying to do with CritMagnet? o_o

  • Normally I Trick but the world-record holder died from Tricking this Gliscor, as it makes it outspeed everything and he got hit by Guillotine 4 times in a row (1 in 123 chance - quite high). Also, there was a 50% chance it wouldn't have Hyper Cutter, but I was unlucky there as well.

  • Why'd you use it twice?

  • Switching would've killed either Registeel or Garchomp, whereas Togekiss has no use if it can't screw up the enemy's lead.

  • Oh, i get it. k thx. Keep up the good work.

  • Yup. Thanks, and I do plan on beating my record!

  • Good luck.

  • OMG a new Dr Dimentio video! finally. Freakin hax tower always presents bad luck. I played it with a fire team. Perfect team but some invincible Gliscor appeared.

  • Yeah, would've been more videos but they take forever to make with my ancient computer. Thanks for the comment, man. Indeed, that Gliscor ruins everything.

  • @DrDimentio sure does. It baffles me how they could be so devious.

  • I know, and I feel ashamed for using a Gliscor as my prime False Swiper for catching legends.
