  • Saw plenty like these in my 25 year career....in schools & public buildings, not always the home owner.

  • WTF were they thinking at 1:27?

  • Those look like houses in Miami, Florida.

  • Reminds me of my house...

  • Amazing. I seen one that was very scary, they ran plumbing supply lines through the electrical panel in basement. There was no need, plenty of access, plenty of room and many options, but they did. I had to remove first thing before starting the remodel. Homeowners in Ulster County NY do not need to be licensed and can work on anything in their own home.

  • 0:55 OMG!!!

  • That big ass jumble of wires is my Worst Nightmare... It's like when my headphones just magically knot themselves up when i'm not fucking looking. =.=

  • AT 17 SECONDS IS THE BREAKER BOX IN THE SHOWER?!?!?!?!? LMFAOOOO WOW

  • F'n homeowners

  • Somebody needs to take these pics and make a calendar. I'd buy it!

  • I love the transformer hanging by rope from the sprinkler pipe. But hey, it's got it's own disconnect! lol

  • @nitrostateteam hey guys, no pissing matches on my comments section or i'll block you.

  • @voltagehz hey guys, no pissing matches on my comments section, or I'll block you.

  • i had a nightmare in which i was convicted of a crime and sentenced to work for 20 years as an electrician in bangladesh.

  • at .51 sec is that a plumbing or electrical violation?

  • haha...the oscillating fan attached to the ceiling is my favorite.

  • no wonder houses burn down

  • ahhhh thats fine, i dont wanna go to the store and pick (x) up!

  • That looks good what's wrong I only have 20 wires hanging down from my car??

  • Hey money is hard to come by so improvisation rocks.

  • An electrical panel near a bathtub, now that's just a fire hazard waiting to happen. What were these people thinking when they did these botch jobs?

  • @theogt821 How exactly does a fire start from having a panel near a bathtub? Do you morons actually think before you speak?

  • Comment removed

  • @nitrostateteam Water is actually a terrible conductor. A very, very small amount of current might pass thru water that bridges the busses. You would never see any type of arcflash from this. Take a look inside just about any outdoor enclosure that has been there for more than 5 years, there is a good chance you will find water in it. Other than tripping a GFCI or AFCi, the water really doesn't do anything, it certainly doesn't cause explosions.

  • Comment removed

  • @voltagehz Actually, water can cause an explosion. There was a job on a local mall where new conductors were being pulled through conduit. The other cables were still live while doing this in the same conduit, and couldn't be shut off. The conduits were sealed but still had water in them. The new cables abraded the live cables, caused the water to turn to steam, and blew out the back wall of the JC Penney!

  • @trailbusterbrute So you are going to compare a 480/277V Three Phase system making compressed steam with a sprinkle of water hitting a 120V bus?

  • @voltagehz Nope. Just saying that water can cause explosions.

  • @voltagehz Ha, Yes...At my last job, I was elec/mech maint. I got to fix a whole lot of this kind of stuff, in the 44,000 foot building, 1,000 amps of 480 coming in.

  • Hey can someone tell me if this sounds unsafe? The lighting booth in my schools auditorium is old and beatin' up. When I go inside i have to hit the wall several times for the lights to go on.. Is that bad? :S

  • @lesCartoonface Lol, yes..

  • @lesCartoonface Sounds like a possible short. I would get en electrician in there to look at it.

  • @theogt821 it wouldnt be a short it would be a loose connection a short would disconnect the protective device

  • @theogt821 Careful....you may be replacing the WHOLE thing if it's too old.

  • @lesCartoonface very

  • Looks like some of the wiring in my apartment. Just love it when switches do absolutely nothing....but they get warm, anyway. :/

  • @1:39 there's notin rong wit dat

  • The panel in the shower...lol...This video is great.

  • i love the gas pipe running through the bottom corner of the panel..... just when i thought i had seen it all that has to be the best one yet

  • nothing to see here, move along.

  • im only a co op student hoping for an apprenticeship, but damn, i could do better work than that!

  • Now i know why i wear Gloves while Working ^^

  • I bet they saved money on the install !

  • i'm an electrician and this is definitely badong

    its bad and wrong together!

  • Ok, I commented a few days ago, but every time I watch this, I crack up AND I THANK GOD for our government (that is supposed to be us by the way) and safety codes. Now whether or not people obey them, well, that is another issue. I just hope there were no fatal fires or electrocutions from this sh*t!!!

  • All those jobs must be Okie rigged.

  • everything seemed up to code, dont know what your talking about

  • @dmesz311 Look more carefully. Most if not all of the stuff in this video is unsafe and needs to be corrected before a fire starts or someone gets electrocuted.

  • @theogt821 haha are you being serious? if so, wow.

  • I commented on this about 6 mo ago, BUT IT Reminds me what we encountered when we vacationed on the Riviera Maya 5 years ago; if you didn't get electrocuted walking across a lawn with AC cords spliced at the plug for lights in the trees on wet grass and hair dryers hard wired behind BR wall plug covers, you might just sh*t yourself to death from bad food and/or ice cubes. I feared coming back to the USA in a BOX!! Took me 2 weeks to recoup! THANK GOD FOR OUR SAFETY LAWS IN THE USA! LOL

  • @oldmick581 well thank god you didn't get electrocute, I'm from mexico city and I live in chicago and actually I think that it doesn't matter the country or the place, I have been working 6 years as electrician and i have found so many mistakes that others have done and make me wonder how the hell the place didn't burn down. I know in some place in mexico aren't the most safety ones.

  • So much for box fill at 1:06. I guess he could get the cover on. Forget the 6" of free wire. If U can jam the circuits in the 1900 box then UR good to go...right?

  • Comment removed

  • Looks like union work.

  • I almost couldn't finish watching this.

  • 0:54 looks like spaghetti with sausages

  • song? please tell me

  • wtf were these idiots doing

  • It's as if some people don't realise that electricity can kill you...

  • Electrician here. I have seen extension boxes used in commercial building with as many as 8 extension rings stacked. the wires were so short inside there that there was no way to access all the wires to test for a intermitent neutral causing a floating neutral condition. guess where this was at ina 911 call center and it was not permitted to shut breakers off to clean up this mess. I had to run new circuits and abandon what was in this mess.

  • Some of these pics made no sense at all. The most bizarre ones for me was the lights in the shower and gas line. WTF?!

  • in soviet russia, electrical work does you!

  • dang they had caps and boxes. They came up some

  • I gotsta have ma lectrisity!

  • itz called i don't wana pay the price..wutz new?

  • this was all installed by the best electricians in mexico!! another reason why electrical is a WHITE TRADE!!!!!!

  • Epic! I wanna put a light fixture above my shower now...its to dark! lol

  • I'm sorry..I'm so dam sorry i couldnt stop laughing after ther first few pics. I mean, what the hell is wrong with 7 extension rings onna 4 square metal box? omg. (still chuckllng). But none of this stuff was done by electricians. Unless it was their brother in law stopping by for a few beers. Seriously though, how many times have you lost the panel cover on a trim and hadda use a little duct tape?lmfao...happens to me alla time!

  • Hey, so it looks like OSHA was targeted in the budget, too.

Who needs NOAA tsunami warnings? - CHECK!

More oil dumping, EPA! - CHECK!

Air traffic controllers? Shmair traffic controllers! - CHECK!

And hey, throw in a breaker box in the shower will ya? - CHECK!

  • wheres osha when u need them

  • Those electricians are going to have bad things happen to them if I get a hold of them!

  • Do the words " OH MY GOD"! ring a bell? :0

  • Wow this is insane. What inspector would pass any of this? P.S. Gas lines hate bonding jumpers. lol

  • I can't believe my eyes on some of that work. I am not an electrician, but common sense should kick in sometime. Hard to believe some of those jobs. I am a trades person and have dabbled in a little wiring, but that video was crazy to say the least. have a good day! Al

  • wow!

  • im a 4th year apprentice and im asking myself how in the **** did they do that? the one at 0:55 is wicked looking would suck. I remodeled a mathis brothers in okc and they had free wired the main power into the panel down a wall with a shit load of nails in it. Just amazes me man.

  • i was at a house once where the bathroom was wierd with speaker wire

  • @starks758 I got u beat hands down. I was at a factory overseas that was wired with bell wire. The fuse housing caught fire and the fuse never melted. Talk about doing a rewire job. Grounding means nothing to them, bless their hearts. hahaha

  • I love this shit! I find this stuff all the time and keep it in my own little museum when I remove it. Junction boxes made from cigar boxes. An extension cord made from a Dawn bottle, a receptacle, and a cord. Keep em comin'!

  • All looks absolutely fine to me. So if you'd like to give me my money I'll be on my way customer.

  • Hahahha, random light above showerhead!

  • Looks as thought most of those pics are of grow op's

  • i totally heard this music on a porno..........i mean my friend said he did >_>

  • e're goin to turn it on, we're goin to bring you the poBZZZZSIZZZLE +_+

  • Some of those things (all the extension rings for one) are things you would have some electrical knowledge to figure it out and therefore should know WAYYYY better!

  • It will fail electricity code

  • Absolutely insane when it comes to dangerous electrical installations. What are this people thinking?

  • My point of view:

1.) I couldn't see the problem with 1.05 So what if there are alot of connectors in one junction box, as long as they are in the same circuit, and you can close the freaking box.

    2.) I don't get wtf is wrong with 0.26

3.) with 1.25, it's not the electrician's fault, The switchboard was obviously there first before the plumber ran his pipe for gas in, it's the plumber who's stupid and should get his ass kicked.

    4.) I don't get 1.45

    I've seen most of these

  • @iserenadeyourmum

1.45 is a fan hung upside down on the ceiling.

1.05 has got to have a box fill problem.

.26 Bare bulbs and sockets in a shower....fail.

    1.25 was just hilarious!

  • wow i mean really?? this a great video of pics. i never thought to look up something like that. even as a diy electrician i would know none of that looks right. wow.

  • Daisy chaining at its best!

  • what is this song called, i love it

    oh, nice vid

  • that can't be good for you

  • my favorite is the gas line running next to the breaker panel

  • 1:07 Ode to Wire Nuts.

  • Comment removed

  • Ok, what is the music to this video?

  • Green Technology Shower Sparky II

  • Looks like some foreign electrician got sick and vomited wires and wire nuts

The light bulb right above the shower head is great

  • Licensed electricians do the lion's share of slipshod wiring.

  • If it can be done by a human it will be on YouTube. I hope I don't die because I have now seen everything! Electrical pornography! LOL

  • well... 1:19 isn't bad actually...

I can see why it could be so:

leftmost screw holds pipe in place while rightmost isnt very long, and locks connection. I know if I woul be about 10 years old, and I could access it, i would perhaps play with it by unscrewing it... who knows what could happen next...

  • @amutsc The set screw is not the problem with it, as most indoor EMT conduit systems use set-screw connectors and couplings. The problem is the "coupling" itself--it is not actually a coupling, but a EMT to Flex adapter that someone rigged into a "reducing coupling". The conduit on left is larger than on the right, so instead of installing a junction box or a approved fitting for the reduction of the conduit they found a adapter in their junk pile and used it, but its not listed for this use.

  • I've been doing wiring for the past 22 years, and I have to say I have seen some mess in my day!!! But this video is almost comical, what would we do with out a jack leg??? They make it bad for a licensed contractor dont they?????

  • Now that was mindboggling! What in the world goes on in peoples' minds...electric in a shower?

  • Stupidity is now a virtue, this proves it.

  • that's a nice light in the shower at 1:38

  • this is the wiring from Justin Biebers house!!!!

  • :53 - 1:00 are japanese tentacle creatures

  • I've seen some botched electrical work over the years but never have I seen a gas line inside or even near a circuit box!!!

  • thats a fire waiting to happen

  • lmao, I find 0:30 pretty funny

  • im a 1st year apprentice and I would never do this shit, i just shake my head when i see this mess.

  • 1:25 is just ridiculous. I thought I had seen bad wiring.....I guess not.

  • 0:10 How do you NOT realize this is a problem?

    0:14 is just funny

    0:19 Are you kidding me?

0:27 who puts motion sensing floodlights in a shower.....

0:41 what is the purpose of that?

1:25 how could anyone be so stupid?

    1:45 I don't even understand this

  • wow, just wow,I thought I had seen it all, imagine how many people sleep soundly with things like that in their home or business and don't even worry or have a clue, the gas line in the panel made me cringe too

  • THese are not electricians, they are hack wanabe DIYers!

  • Good god. Sorry Ripu, Twenty years I've been in the field and I have never seen anything like that. Gas pipe in a panel, good god.

I also noticed that the whole "wet location" thing was pretty regularly ignored. Good god.

  • Sadly in 20 yrs of this field, I've seen some of the same things.

  • The extension boxes... whaaahaaa!!!!

  • duc tape and wire nuts more is not needed....

  • As an electrician I am terrified watching this O_O

  • WTF????? I thought the electrical codes were bad when we vacationed in Mexico on the Riviera Maya! Speaking of the Riviera Maya, if you are an American vacationing there take lots of K. O. Pectate (or however the hell you spell it) and a box of Depend Undergarments. I had the sh*ts sooooo bad I thought I would come home in a box!! Only eat food that is fried in HOT grease and DON'T drink anything! And this was one of the most expensive vacations my wife and I ever took!! LOL (:>)

  • @oldmick581 BWAhaha, you had The Hershey Squirts every day you were there !

Imodium extra strength is the one you want to use and stock up on BEFORE you get down mexico way...Squirt !

    BWAahaha

  • wow, great video. scary to thing that, there are electricians that would do that kind of work and take pride on what they do.

  • I am so installing motion sensor lights in my shower!

  • wtf is this? i hope nobody got hurt out of this. the spectors should get sued cause some one could of died the electrician should get fired and the gas should be free for the rest of their lifes.

  • @EDGAR15ish yes! someone SHOULD tell the SPECTORS before some gets DIED! hahaha

  • @shittyjay "spectors" BWAAAhahaha, must be a bona fide electrician

  • How did those electricians get hired and get their electrician license to do a dirty job like that? come on, how could they think to place an electrical panel in the shower? same thing to the gas engineers how did they get their license to become gas engineers? and how could that house pass the inspection?

  • @702sincitylv I'm pretty sure the panel was existing in that location and a homeowner or DIY'er decided to expand their bathroom shower without getting the pros to do it. The tile and the shower look almost brand new, the panel is obviously older. Save a few bucks vs. burn your house down or you or a loved one die a painful death in the shower when you ground out your panel. Hmm. Call an electrician and check references! I'm a good electrician but there are some bad bad ones out there.

  • WOW! OK heres the problem, I counted those box extensions there's one missing! LOL

  • hahahahaha this is the best one I've seen yet

  • haha motion sensor shower light

  • By the time europe drags us to the 20th edition this will be the acceptable standard ,as long as an RCD is used

  • 0:16 how did the inspector give the okay for this? I can see a lot of this being do it yourself gone wrong, especially the lamp in the shower, lol.

  • wtf @ 0:41?

  • @londontrada im with you

  • If this was in INDIA this would be called "THE BEST ELECTRICAL WORK EVER"

  • @klef77 Now that's a good idea for another video!

  • @klef77 Sounds like discrimination to me ;)

  • Sadly we see this kind of work so often. Sometimes it is done by actual contractors! We've got a couple in town who keep us in business. Gotta wonder how some of these guys manage to stay in business.

  • Images from the darkest nightmare!!!

  • Evil, Pure Evil. Father Save Your Servants. That is so sick. So Evil. Dangerous! The box with all the wire caps is suposed to be a hospital. Oh My God!!!!

  • beautiful I wonder what book did they reed it was NEC or Chet

  • I took the picture with the gas pipe in front of the panel!

  • Sad thing, but doing mostly residential, I see stuff like this all the time. The duct taped panel at 35; I'd say at least someone made the effort for safety on that one. Most jacklegs just leave an open panel. Sad thing is, the light or receptacle usually works & that's all the customer wants. He doesn't understand the time bombs in his walls, or the ones in the open. And he got it for a bargain price.

  • OMG what a bunch of hacks! lol

  • That was scary.

  • I like the 50,000 extension rings!

  • in the list of the funniest videos, sorry it has to be real

  • mcb board in a bathroom? whoever did that should be shot

  • Wow... I am speechless! Seriously! WHO DOES THIS?! Every single one of these pictures has at least one HUGE violation! A gas pipe running into and out of a panel? A breaker panel in a damn bathtub? A FREAKING BATHTUB?! WHAT ARE PEOPLE THINKING?!

  • at 1:20 lmao dont think that panel was quite up to intrinsically safe standards lol

  • I can not even begin to tell you just how much of am epic fail 0:20 is.

1:21 im lost for words. just cannot believe someone would be so stupid as to put gas with electricity. one spark leaking gas....boom big epic fail.

  • i lold @ 0:51 hahah

  • 1:21 EPIC FAIL

  • This video made my stomach hurt.

  • @ 0:11, looks like my room

  • @seansy59 my room used to be like that just my network is now lol

  • How many code violations can you spot??? I say all of them are code violations.

  • ALL I CAN SAY IS "WOW"

  • they must of smoked some shyt weed when they did that

  • Gas line going thru an electrical panel, how could any body do something like that?

    Hoo yaaa plumber

  • lol, looks American, some parts of the pics, as its twistlock mad in areas

  • This almost made me cry in laughter/worry/anything because I'm learning how to do that stuff properly xD

  • was that spaguetti on 56?

  • You should put these on fail blog!

  • @LCDgamer I was lead to this through another vid on the fail blog.

  • lots of hill-billy wiring, LOL shure do not want to live in those places.
