  • ahah lol check the women going for it bottom middle screen at 3:20

  • Do not want.

  • There is still hope in this world.

  • @sebcrakpot1234

As long as there would be music.

  • ear gasm

  • I just love how they keep running to different instruments...they are incredibly talented.

    Amazing live.

  • "our bodies get bigger but our hearts get torn up.

We're just a million little gods causin' rain storms turnin' every good thing to

rust. I guess we'll just have to adjust."

    That verse is deep

  • to have the whole crowd sing along...god damn that must be the best fucking feeling in the world. this songs like an anthem.

  • fall in love with arcade fire

  • Directed by "Terry Gilliam" from Monty Python!!!??? whaaaaat

  • Normally i'd say F vevo, but this song is just too amazing... I don't remember who, but whoever showed me Arcade fire way back when, thank you SO MUCH!

  • Glad you came around phuckinholes.

  • "Someone told me not to cry". Well I cried anyway.

  • This song gives me the chills.

  • Just by looking at their facial expressions and the effort they put into their music makes me feel as though they believe in what they're singing and know how it's like to in a bad place.

  • I ain't trying to knock anybodys musical interest, but I just don't get how these guys made it as big as they have. They really aren't all that talented, and I have given them a chance a few times now.

  • @phuckinholes Opinions.

  • @phuckinholes Like harrenysk said, you're sprouting opinions bro, never forget to put that into your comment.

  • @phuckinholes if this isn't talent, what is?

  • @phuckinholes Keep listening. I didn't get them at first either but now they are hands down my favorite band.

  • @phuckinholes If you're not a musician/composer, meaning you don't understand music theory and what it takes to compose a song like this, then you have no premise for declaring them as having no talent. This song has more layers, meaning harmony, then most of what you normally hear. That's why there's so many people on stage. If you don't like it then that's fine, but this band writes extremely dense music.

  • @bdgrey so basically they are the tool of rock n roll? Tool makes great creative original music, but you can hear the complexity of it and can openly hear the talent ( instruments and vocals). Something like this I feel I could learn on guitar within a few hours, maybe its that reason I don't feel it as much. I do find the lyrics deep tho, music just sounds like the strokes with a little violin (4:03).

  • @phuckinholes I don't understand the comparison, b/c Tool is so very different. Nothing Arcade Fire has sounds anything like Eulogy, for example, but when it comes to strictly guitar Arcade Fire isn't all that complicated. Neither is TV On the Radio, Nirvana, or pretty much most music, so yes, you could learn the tabs to this song probably within 5 or 10 minutes. That's the case with most songs, and any guitarist worth a shit should be able to.......Hold on a sec.....Running out of characters.

  • @phuckinholes but any decent guitarist can learn a song rather quickly. All music is predicated upon the same laws, ie. chord progressions, root notes, key sig. time sig., rhythm, etc...which means all a guitarist has to do is identify the key, the chords, strum pattern, and then play it. Arcade Fire is a band. They are not Steve Vai, Jimmy Hendrix, and so on. They don't need complex instruments when they have complex arrangements. It's enough to take a riff and go from there.....

  • @phuckinholes Layering/harmonizing is something that all composers do. Whether it be Vivaldi, Trent Reznor or Frank Zappa. They take what they have and build from there. Muse has Bellamy who is an amazing guitarist. He's more complicated than Reznor, yet Reznor adds more layers to his work. They're both composers but with diff't styles. Neither can do what the other does. Arcade Fire is doing the exact same thing, but in their own way. They have their own, yet highly recognizable sound.

  • By the way Youtube, your Captchas are completely retarded. You want me to type the Captcha, and yet there is no box for me to type. How can I possibly honor your request if there's no way for me to type it? I can barely get a paragraph done in 500 characters, let alone an entire thought or point, but after two comments you want me to do a Captcha. I get it, I really do, but at the same time I'm not some driveling moron and/or troll. I'm just someone with something to say.

  • @bdgrey not to be rude but you really sould'nt complain about the little things. Its a good habbit trust me

  • @TheVelveteenRose First of all, and with all due respect, who are you to judge what habits are good or bad for someone else? Secondly, I would never trust anyone's advice beyond curiosity, and if proven useful then I would use it. Thirdly, little/big is a subjective matter. If you're referring to the Captcha comment; I spent 25 minutes waiting for it to go away. That's a lot of time wasted, and for me that's a problem.

  • @TheVelveteenRose And beyond the irony of complaining about someone else complaining about what you perceive to be trivial, there's also the fact that you don't know who I am. What could possibly make someone see value in pointing something out? Why would I complain about Captchas, or anything else? Who is the person behind bdgrey? What are their passions? Point being that making some trite statement about someone else's trite statement w/o premise is ignorant. Your little things are not mine.

  • @bdgrey Shut up and enjoy the music man

  • The Band!

  • Boring, at the end out of tune, pitchy, not so good, sorry.

  • @vrin1 Stfu man get a fucking life and stop talking shit on peoples likes of music. If u dont believe their great artists go listen to other stuff... live your own life like your own stuff

  • @xNeonPandax Why is it that I'm not entitled to my opinion? I don't like these guys so you tell me to get a life. I've studied music and played music for over thirty years. These guys are nothing extraordinary. People buy crap, this is just different crap. I didn't insult you, I voiced my opinion. So, go FUCK YOURSELF.

  • @vrin1 I guess that you only respect virtuous musicians capable of playing 200 notes in 4 seconds. You're entitled to your opinion, but hating on a band in one of their Youtube videos is like the biggest idiocy ever. You know you're making them win more money by clicking, right? And if you enter this video again just to answer this you'll be doing it again. I don't like...I don't know, Chris Brown, so I don't enter his videos. It's very simple. State your opinion somewhere else, where it matters

  • @vrin1 I never said u were entitlted to it..... but no one gives a fuck if u think they suck... we like to listen to them so thats enough! And it doesnt matter if u have played for thirty years u still ahve shit taste in music

  • @xNeonPandax And you're still a fucking idiot. People post videos on here to get comments. I give my comment and you don't like it, so that makes you an idiot. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, including you. So you can like them and I choose not to like them. They don't deserve a grammy IN MY OPINION. If you like to listen to them fine, but I still have my opinion. So FUCK YOU AGAIN.

  • @vrin1 mate no-one deserves a grammy..its total shit ,who cares what a bunch of whitebread MOR producers and industry hacks think .. like these pricks would'nt know who captain beefheart or alex chiltern were ,,just have a look at some of the howlers they had in the 60;s "best new artist" in 1964' Ward Swingle ????wtf..

  • @vrin1 were'nt*

  • @vrin1

Yeah, i don't doubt it. But it's still far far better than most of the $hit tossed around these days as music.

  • 109 people couldn't wake up

  • Where the wild things are put this song in the movie at the perfect spot. Wouldn't have been the same movie without it. Cried so hard. HAHA

  • amazing!!!!

  • I'm a 15 year old boy. I am bawling to this. I'm not ashamed in the least to admit this.

  • @xGetOutBRdx pussy

  • @aWhiteStorm Faggot

  • There is something good going on here.Could real made music be back???

  • only song of Arcade Fire I know.

  • @robair9911 I recomend you listen to the first album.

  • God-damn what an amazing song from beginning to end!!

I wish I could write a song like this. Amazing.

  • Never have I heard a song before that gave me goosebumps like this. I don't know if I want to cry or laugh or just scream this song at the top of my lungs. All I know is that it's been on repeat on my ipod for about an hour now.

  • Sorry, I don't get it. They're boring, minimally talented and nothing special. These guys won a grammy? Unbelievable. Are we this staved for good music that we'll give these guys awards. Nothing special....they suck.

  • @vrin1 boring and minimally talented? here's a few names for you: peter gabriel, foo fighters, bruce springsteen, david byrne, david bowie, chris martin (ahem, norah jones) lcd soundsystem etc... but of course you know better.

  • @desertmouse1 So what...you just named other grammy winners from a variety of eras? How is that relevant to the point that these guys just aren't that great? Or are you saying that because they won a grammy they are in league with those artists? Well Justin Bieber was nominated, if he had won would you have said the same?

  • @turoniner these are musicians who have covered and/or performed with them before their awards. i guess what i'm saying is you may not like them. fair enough. i don't like celine dion, but what i can't do is deny she has a voice.

  • Yep it takes all kinds to make the world go round. I guess we need idiots too.

  • @vrin1 God I agree so much. No idea what the fuss is about. Decent emotion, a couple good songs, but their stage show hinges upon having ten people onstage, none of who is doing anything that special. Give me a three piece where each member is killing it any day.

  • rush, good grief they make me rush for prozac

  • One of the greatest Canadian band....:D respect from CANADA....

  • @burnit01 can't decide who's better... Arcade Fire or Rush.

  • @beardedspock You're not serious. You're not comparing Rush to these musical amateurs are you? OMG.

  • @burnit01 the sexbobombs are the greatest candian band evar

  • the human condition is nothing new....

  • this song rocks

  • one of the few songs out there that makes me cry...

  • I don't know why but my eyes are wet. .

  • There's something very emotional about this song that you either have to sing it out loud or cry.

  • @MrPlatinum11 I do neither.

  • @MrPlatinum11 couldnt agree more

  • a great gig at EXIT festival!!!!

  • I can't believe I'm finally seeing them NEXT WEEK!

  • @Digaas Waste of money

  • Most epic song ever

  • @ 0:48

  • I love this song soooo very much, buttt, what the hell is with that fat chick at the front with the spastic face and arms????

  • @HattiePanda She's at a rock and roll show, not giving a shit. We all look pretty ordinary at times :)

  • @HattiePanda

She's being a freak and having a good time... Good for her. Life's too short and meaningless to waste it by being 'cool'.

  • Hello i m music and the girl is a litle bad to sing ^^

  • Did any-one else come here from "science saved my soul"

  • @PureZOOKS yep

  • i got goosebumps o.o

  • This. is. art. and love

  • Is that Andy Samberg at 3:26?? Lol..

  • this song makes me cry ever time i hear it but i just stop listening

  • This has gotta be one of the most amazingly euphoric live songs ever written. If you haven't heard this live, you haven't lived.

  • Heard this live yesterday at hyde park. Was up there in the best moments of my life.

  • @CliodnaOConnor Was a beautiful beautiful moment indeed :) I NORMALLY PLAY THIS AT THE END OF THE SET BUT FUCK IT I WANT TO PLAY IT NOW

  • @CliodnaOConnor Was number one!!

  • ik zie je morgen :-)

  • did anyone see at 1:26 the guy on the big bass drum broke his white malet? xD

  • I saw them live once. I took a date who never heard of Arcade Fire before. when they played this song in the middle of it. roaring fans deafening. you heard the whole crowd sing the famous chorus OHHHHHHH. During this, I leaned over and my date and I had our first kiss. magical moment.

  • This song goes on FULL BLAST as my alarm in the morning.

  • thumbs up if you want this playing at your funeral :)

  • oh why did it have to be vevo?

  • if i will die i would die with headset in my head and listen to this song,,

  • I only know very few beautiful songs and this is one of them.

    Songs witch are unforgettable.

Songs witch you wan' t to show your next generation.

Songs witch are just so fucking good.

Forget all the crappy songs from singers witch will get forgotten in the next 20 years

  • @alexiasccc "Songs Witch": head of musical sorcery?

  • No other song i know can make me cry, then make me love my life and want to go out and adventure more than this one!

  • @DJMelicMirage Oh right, all good haha.

  • @DJMelicMirage Honestly, I'm not a music snob. Side by side on my iPod are the likes of Led Zepplin &Lady Gaga, or Justin Bieber & Johnny Cash. Even Rachmanninoff and Radiohead :P

  • Going to see them @ main square festival in Arras !!!

i'm looking foreward to it !!!!!

  • @DJMelicMirage I see your point but i never said anything bad about any other artists. I just said that the people who assume Arcade Fire sucks just because they beat eminem or lady gaga are the dumb-asses. People are aloud to listen to what ever they want. That's what is great about music there is something for everybody.

  • saw this live in chicago.

    i cried.

  • 104 people didn't wake up

  • The greatest band on Earth and possibly the greatest band that ever existed!

  • A friend of mine passed away in a car accident in April 2010 - we promised eachother we'd go to this concert. He loved Arcade Fire and he loved this song. I was at this concert just for him - they couldn't have ended this show in any better way, this song will forever have a place in my heart. I still miss him all the time but I know he was there with me.

  • @TheNicoleSici So sorry about your friend. You were definitely being a loyal friend to him to go to this concert. Your friend loved this band and this song, then he obviously had GREAT taste.

Strangely, one of Arcade Fire's songs is about a person dying in a car accident, Regine's late mother, Alice. (No joke or offense intended)

I bet your friend would've been thrilled on February 13, 2011 when Arcade Fire won the grammy for best album.

  • This is one of the greatest songs ever made. No doubt.

  • I wonder if he gets half the sweat by only having half the hair?

  • fuck yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • It can't be hard to win best country album, since the bar isn't set very high...

  • One of my favorite songs to listen while running.

  • 102 people doesn't wakes up.

  • Search for John Legend & The Roots Version! ... I love both versions!

  • Seeing these guys live was incredible, and this song specifically was something you'd never forget.

  • I'm 63 years old & this group is fantastic... better than all the rap/hop/garbage of today. roqu

  • just discovered arcade fire and love them. youtube is awesome.

  • damn it vevo why would you make me watch an advertisement

wait hold on theres an arcade fire song afterwards?

keep up the good work vevo

  • @Scodd0 firefox and ad blocker pro work really well, no advertisements for me :)

  • I can't say that I celebrate The Arcade Fire's entire catalog, but this song moves me to tears. Absolutely amazing.

  • Can't wait to hear the live in Serbia!!!!! They rock!

  • @tomlop yeah i did and what??

  • I think my mommy said once.. "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all."

Love Arcade Fire... so much emotion.

  • The singer looks like a young version of Steve Buscemi

  • A few days ago at the Bonnaroo music fesitival i made the mistake of missing Arcade Fire but this only lead to me waking up later that night in a confused and stoned daze hearing this song from my campsite, which made an unforgettably perfect moment. Thank you Arcade Fire :D

  • @cornholewithpoop fake and gay

  • @RSBearit Like your grandmas tits....

  • The accordion suddenly became 5000X cooler.

  • fat chick at 0:48 at bottom center-left wins!!

  • @fazedorfazedor

    HAHAHAHA!

She does that throughout the whole song!

That's hilarious. I'm so glad you pointed that out.

  • @SailorCookieMafia she probably did that throughout the whole concert!

  • @fazedorfazedor She probably does that EVERY TIME she listens to Arcade Fire... even when she's alone.

  • the singer reminds me of Simon from misfits

  • @chaosnewterer No... YOU need to "Wake Up" and get the fuck out of here. Fucking Troll.

  • @chaosnewterer finalyy someone agrees with me

  • can you feel the maturity in these comments? don't see the difference between this and a justin bieber comment board.

  • If you like this song, checkout The Runaway by Regret the Hour

  • Matt and Kim can go drive off a cliff...i want my damn music

  • FUCK MATT AND KIM

  • seeing them live in nova scotia, so effing excited <3<3<3

  • when i finally get to see this live at hyde park at the end of the month i can die happy

  • I hate this band they suck

  • @megaviccky1 Dear Child, I believe your audio receivers are broke. You should get that looked at. Anyhow there is no need to attack people who like music as such, I can respect the fact that you like Justin Bieber and Taylor swift so please respect the facts that most people who watch this enjoy it. I would say the same thing to someone bashing TSwift or JB. I have seen a few comments that you have made and it just sickens me to see so much hate.

    Peace and Love Kid,

    Peace and Love.

    <3

  • @crazyorangeperson Dear crazy orange person, LEAVE ME ALONE! and first of all i stopped writing comments on this dumb band for 2 months but then 2 months later people still wouldn't leave me alone so

i got annoyed so all i did was respond back again. That simple and you know what like whatever the hell you want to like "because frankly my darling i don't give a damn" (Gone With The Wind )the movie

by the way i think your audio receiver broke for liking this band.

  • @megaviccky1 Look bitch, just shut up and enjoy.

But well, looks like you didn't really enjoy it, so just leave. No one wants you here.

  • @megaviccky1 I dont really need your permission to like what I want to like. and If you didnt care you wouldnt waste your time bashing on people. If you didnt want people to say something to you then why did you comment in the first place. Calm down, and be polite. once again peace and love.

  • @crazyorangeperson That's just what i said like whatever the hell you want to like. me bashing on people you me people bashing on me and first of all the first comment that i put on this band was "i cant believe they won best album of the year." that's all i put and from that day and on they wouldn't leave me the f**** alone. Wait a second why do i have to prove anything to you. Lets make it simple leave me the F***** ALONE.

  • @megaviccky1 Im not bashing on ya, Just sayin keep the peace. Seriously calm down. no need to get all upset.

    Peace.

  • @crazyorangeperson I'm not bashin' on ya blah blah blah

  • @megaviccky1 Psh, not liking this genius band? The fuck kind of music you listen to? Shitty mindless rap? Or lame ass country?

  • @GrayFox1203 lame ass country you can say whatever you like about country but it has lasted for years and will coninue on lasting. And tell me really you think this shitty type of music will last.

    didn't think so

  • @megaviccky1 You are the bitch that went on to this video in the first place just to bash it. Now, If you didn't like it you could of just forgotten about it and moved on. But you didn't. Instead you go ahead and write a comment on it bashing it and continue to do so. You say you come back to only because people are bashing you for your comments but what did you expect to happen when you came on and bashed it the very first time? You obviously expected replies back.

  • @angrybeaversfan You know what everything you just said was true i guess i am a bitch just because i don't like this band.

  • @megaviccky1 You got that right!

  • @megaviccky1 bwhahahaha you are a big FAILTROLL; a troll should upset the people it is trolling, not the other way around. Just be calm and stop harrassing people that like this band. Your musictaste isn't superior. Definatly when your argument is that country has lasted long, that is no argument at all for music. Byebye, JB-lover.

  • @megaviccky1

i will find u and bite ur ear off and eternally implant a speaker that only plays arcade fire.

  • @flyflydonkey i rest my case. Look freaks who like AF say stupidity like what you just said...

  • @flyflydonkey

Haha that was the best comment I have read in my whole entire life.
