The white line isnt to tell you where the board is, i mean sure it does tell you but the real reason behind doing that is the stones on the grip tape, are hard to cut... by scraping and making that white line your removing the stones making the grip tape easier to cut... just saying... if you wouldve make that white line stronger and sanded it with the screwdriver more.. your cutting wouldnt of been so jagged...

@hannahsuckscrap21 yeah you can remove the old grip tape take a blow dryer and put it on the hottest setting and it should sort of melt so you can peel it off. if all the residue doesnt come off just wipe it off with gasoline or rubbing alcohol
