two things on the b18's, One... it is a "non-interference" motor. Which means in the event you break your timming belt and try to start it because it died, the top of the pistons will NOT crash into the open valves. The other thing is when you are replacing the timming belt, the service manual recomends you change your water pump while you have the timming belt cover off. Sence the water pump is behind the t-belt cover anyways. These are great little engines, even non-vtech.Got 263k on my Acura
B18A motor. There should be a hole on the camshaft behind the pulley that lines up with a hole in the cap above it. You can drop a nail or screwdriver or something and it will lock the two cams in the correct position. You can see the little circles hanging out over the camshafts behind the pulleys in this video. Handy trick to know on these engines.
So you know for next time, on the cam caps closest to the cam gears there are holes. Insert a rivet or a piece of wire that fits perfectly into the hole there is a divet in the cam that keeps them from spinning any amount. Just a tip for next time. Not sure if it works on the GSR C1 motors tho.
