  • Rocky Horror with:

Freddie Mercury as Dr. Frank N Furter

    Brian May as Eddie

    Roger Taylor as Rocky

    John Deacon as Riff Raff

  • @DeadNorwegianBlue now THAT would be genius!!!

  • May used to be lead singer of Smile. But then came a young man named Farrokh Bulsara (soon changed his name to Freddie) joined the band and the rest is history.

  • @RandomProcras Close. Brian May formed Smile, Tim Staffell was the lead singer. Their songs weren't too bad actually. :)

  • I just had a party in front of my computer screen. :D

  • This combines Queen and TRHPS. I can die happy.

  • I was surprised. I like his take on it. Sings it in the tough Meatloaf key of "C" too.

    Cool Brian!

  • epic on all levels

  • brian does have a good voice ,but he should have let meatloaf do this one!

  • This is just yet another of BM's endless taunts toward portly powerhouse Meat Loaf...

Brian is an awful singer. His nasty, whispery, raspy, disgusting voice makes me want to stab an icepick through each ear. Meat Loaf is amazing, BM sucks. Period.

Why he would want to try to compete with the rotund rocker is beyond me. But then again, beyond ALL comprehension, he DID try to compete with Freddie. So I wouldn't put anything past him.

  • @DinkieMalone. Come Dinkie, If I could play the guitar and sing at the same time I'd give this a damn good butchering myself. Give the guy a break, it's a perfectly delightful cover (though not as good as the original) and he's clearly enjoying himself.

  • @DinkieMalone Yeah Meatloaf obviously feels the same, thus they are great friends. XD He's not competing, he's covering a song he likes a lot, as many people have done to his. He didn't try to compete with Freddie either, vocally obviously, that's just ridiculous. I'll never understand why people get so bitter about covers, if you don't like it, it hasn't somehow harmed the original!

  • this song

    Makes me wanna dance xD

  • considering richard o brien when meatloaf sung all the lyrics without missing any words, for brian to do it speaks volumes to how good a singer he is and how succesfull his solo should have been

  • Hot Patootie (bless my soul) is brillent well done Brian but Metloaf's Is better I feel but still also well done to Richard O Brien for writing this amazing song in the first place. GO GO GO

  • BETTER BY MEATLOAF!!!

  • I LOVE BRIAN MAY AND I LOVE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW !! COOOOLLL!!

  • reason brian isnt mentioned as a singer because its hard to compete with a guy like freddie mercury.

  • here is an idea when they do a remake theyt can use this guy to play eddie and have him come in like meatloaf did and sing this.

  • Oh man, Brian May doing Meat Loaf. This is awesome!

  • who the hell is this dave r. fuller?

  • @stefo213 He's the best person on You tube. He has so many different videos. Including karaoke!

  • Wait, that's him at 2:49??

  • Brian, this song and DaveRFuller are great. :D :D :D

  • Give Brian a lot of credit, he sings and plays guitar, both very well. I can think of no other singer/guitarist so talented in both aspects. Meatloaf is the best, but this is a damn fine cover.

They should have a tribute to the Rocky Horror Picture show, and have a bunch of rock dudes cover the whole soundtrack.

  • Jimi Hendrix ;)

Brian May is my hero though, never fails to amaze me. This is an awesome track!

  • @nobunagaspectre they did it was called the rocky horror rock punk show.

  • This is fricken awesome, he sounds so great!

  • was he ever Eddie in the show?

  • THOUGHT you were divine? Brian, we know you are! Don't be silly

  • ROCK!!!!!!!!

  • OH MY GOD NO WAY.perfect

  • very good, but meatloaf is way better

  • I don't think, Brian wanted to "be better" than Meatloaf.

  • *Brian "is better" than Meatloaf

  • wait brians singing? he sounds so different!

  • Yes..I know what you mean....it's great..huh?

  • May's voice here sounds alot like Rocky from the original movie. I would have really liked to seen this show!

  • Ever since watching RHPS I realize Queen often taking inspiration from the movie/play.

  • great version but nothing surpasses meat's

  • this amazinggg! i love brian may :)

  • Love Brian May and Queen; Love Rocky Horror Picture Show. Figures that when they meet, it takes me to 'Another World'!!

  • So yeah, this song is a cover for the RHPS song? Either way, I really enjoy this song, no matter.

  • NO WAY! Brian May+Rocky Horror?! awesome!!

  • I LOVE THIS SONG AND I LOVE BRIAN MAY!

  • This is GREAT !!! Rock on Brian.

  • Hmm... Emily May on backing vocals.... Has to be his daughter right??

  • Yes, BuffyPython, Emily is his youngest child.

  • A good place to hear Emily on her own is on the Furia soundtrack...she does the Apparition vocal

  • ladyspookums- Do you know if I could find that on YouTube?

  • I honestly don't know....I have it on a cd...I'm gonna talk to a friend and see if she can upload it for me so I can share it let me know if you can's find it

  • Thank you! You're awesome!

  • DaveRFuller just uploaded it. If you haven't asked your friend yet, then you don't have to. Her voice is incredible.

  • Oh my gawd. As if I loved Brian enough already. Never knew two of my most favorites came together...RHPS and Brian May

  • Look at 2:18. Look at all those guitars man. What's extra cool about him is the fact that he had a signature guitar before he was famous. He and his dad made a guitar from scratch. His unique model ..Soo cool.

  • and if you look in the background you can see 2 more guitasr necks sticking out. So he probably has even more :D

  • He does keep a backup, an acoustic and a back up acoustic as well at most shows.

  • That brian may, Good lord..than man CAN play some serious rock on roll man .. He can make it swing and groove ..he can make it rock and roll.

my fav. guitarist of all time . He made me start to play guitar.

  • Me to... His solo on Queens Crazzy little thing called love, made me start playing guitar. But these solo albums of his show there really is more to brian than just Queen :D

  • I love this song. Great version Bri! :)

  • love his hair

  • Gotta love The Rocky Horror Picture Show! xD

  • This is a really "fun" cover version. "Another world" was going to be an album entirely made of cover versions whem Bri first started to work on it. This was obviously recorded in that stafe of the album. P.S Anyone know who plays the sax on this?

  • i would love to have a rummage through brians record and cd stacks..great post dave..

  • Yeah Great version

  • Sounds like it'd be the song played to the credits of some awesome huge budget movie...

  • i prefer meatloaf version but brian did an amazing jobbb

  • brian is underrated as a singer because he was a member of queen, which had the best singer in rock history (in my opionion) as a lead singer. hard to compete with that. but brian is very good, even though i prefer the meatloaf version.

  • Brian May rules!!!!!

  • Damn, Brian May's got an awesome voice O_O

  • Yeah, he does. And he's a wizard with a guitar!

  • this one reminds me a bit of Rocky Horror Picture Show--- good memories--- a few lines, a few riffs seem the same in places

  • Probably because it's a song from Rocky Horror? XD

  • okay so I read slow sometimes! heard it before I read the blurb--- always loved Rocky

  • Brayan is the best

  • ...Magenta, Columbia, go and assist Riff Raff!

Sadly, I know all the lines from that musical...

  • Wow!I love this version!Go Brian!!

  • Brian is an awesome singer. Check out Teasin Around, it's on Youtube. His best vocal performance.

  • Brian rules!

  • It's slower than The Rocky Horror Picture Show's version, isn't it?

  • that is so cool i love this version and of course meat loaf also rocks, even a bit more....

    cool version

  • wait that's brain may singing???

  • yes.

  • Sure !! ^^

  • he's a very underrated singer, i think.

  • I love when he says "and wooow really had a good time" !! Such a voice ! Such a MAN !!

  • The picture at 2.47, is that a concert he did??!!! i saw that pic many times, but i don't know where it comes from, he's so cute dressed up like that !!

    Can anyone answer to me?!!

  • I'm NOT sure but i guess that's his son Jimmy, dunno where was it taken tho.

  • So it may be Jimmy on the cover of Retro Rock Special ?!? o__O

  • well as i said i aint sure but it looks like Jimmy May.

  • As I recall, this song (along with a few others) was recorded during the sessions for "Another World", but not included for unknown reasons. Brian created an alter ego, T.E. Conway, who was a mash up of various rock stars from the 50's, particularly Conway Twitty. Brian performed as T.E. Conway at a Queen fan club gathering, hence the picture you see. He is dressed in a 50's retro outfit with his hair pulled back into a pompadour, or facsimile thereof.

  • Thanks !!!

    That's cool !

But i wish i could see that concert !! :(

  • GREAT !!!!!! love the way brian sings !!

  • as the lead guitarist to queen he must be good at singing bcuz he knew freddie mercury

  • Yes, it is logical to assume that everyone who knew Freddie Mercury was a good singer, simply because they knew Freddie Mercury.

    He had the Midas touch!

  • I was being sarcastic in response to someone else.

    Nevermind.

  • no what I am saying is that watching such a good singer like Freddie you can learn a thing or two and I am sure that Brian would have made a great singer all on his own.

  • This is just a cover.

    read descriptions before spamming!!

    IDIOT

  • Silly German. If I cared to point out about how your the one who is accutally spamming then the silly little German world you live in would be a better one.

    Sadly I don't give a crap.

Go read all of the posts before calling stupidity.

  • WHAT???

    WHY???

  • Wow. I am incredibly impressed. I played Eddie in a live show and this is a wonderful cover!

Meat Loaf is still the best, but, this is most impressive. Kudos Brian May!

  • I wonder how it will look with F M

  • omg

    this is awful

i mean i love brian may

but i am shocked and disapointed in him here

  • Brian is a lot better than meatloaf. about a million times better

  • Lets just agree that no matter how awsome someone is when they do a cover version it could be awsome in their own way but it isn't quite as awsome as the person who originally first made the song.

  • ha ha mate its a cover, dont get so workd up about it, he does write his own lyrics, he recorded tht as a cover

  • WOAHH wat the hell. Meatloaf is soo much better,. I love brian may but no1 can meatloaf lol

  • Hells yeah! ://

  • no one sings it like mrloaf

  • Meatloaf sang it so much better. This version is missing something that's really important to the song. But, it's a good song any way you sing it.

  • Meatloaf did it better!!!!!

  • awesome

  • This was a lot better by Meatloaf, only because you could get right into it

  • I feel like Brian May doesn't portray the pure sex drive that is really the driving force behind "Hot Patootie". Meatloaf had that extra something when he sang it in "Rocky Horror".

  • I agree, the "Rocky Horror" cover was much more catching. And the syncopation, thetatterdemalion, is not a strong point either.

But for what its worth, this song is a fav!

  • I can't quite get with the syncopation. Still, I'm not complaining, and I'm glad I came across this video (quite by accident, mind you).

I'm a tremendous Queen fan and a tremendous Rocky Horror Picture Show fan, so I guess I'm just an all-around winner today.

  • LOL, sounds like he had a great time recording this.

  • what...the...fuck....

  • I love Brian, but this kind of sucks.

  • I don't think this version fits Hot Patootie, cause its so strange, more voices then it has to be and senseless "Eddie"-Shouts

  • I prefer the meatloaf version

  • I like Meatloaf for sure, but I think this guys voice definitely captures the bad ass side of Eddie. So both are awesome!

  • nice sweater (:55)

  • that's my favorite part :)

  • i have to say, i preferred this version. i know its not how its supposed to be done but still... i know i'll get a load of comments saying i'm wrong, but i don't really care...

  • I prefer this version too. IOW agree with you

  • yay! lol... i just like the whole hard rock thing. and the fact that i love brian may helps! lol,,,

  • Agree again. lol

  • cool pics u put

  • Brian May es el mejor guitarrista de la historia, por una razón muy sencilla;

Hemos visto que hasta un niño puede tocar como los mejores...pero nadie domina los sonidos, las harmonías, y los complementos de guitarra, arreglos...como él.

    Listen Good Company for example...

  • Tiene toda la razon!!! no sobran ni faltan palabras para describir por que brian es el mejor

  • god he's hot. so damn sexy and talented

  • Awesome.

  • I just came in my pants. I'm not lying.

  • Hot Patootie - I can't help but thinking "Hot Potato"

  • Hey David...Hot Patootie is a great great great song !! Hot Patootie bless my soul, i really love that rock 'n' roll!!

  • great!

  • Wow. Awesome rendition!!!

  • LOVELY!!!

  • i love the pictures soooooooooo much

  • Fantasticooooo briannnnn :D

  • 1:45... Muahahaha! Too much ampage!

  • I think Brian really restrained himself on this.

He should have played the Saxaphone solo..... Like it is on the original.

  • I Love all things to do with queen but do struggle with such a corny song title. Another rare gem though
