  • hi betty :) i always wonder why sometimes you dont take a taste of your food. however, i still love your videos!! :)

  • Looks really good Betty. I have a casserole dish to return to a friend and I didn't want to return it empty so I came to your channel to get an idea. This is what I'm going to take in her dish when I give it back to her. I hope they enjoy it. It sure looks very good. Thank you. Belinda

  • Do you think it would work to cook stovetop brand stuffing and use that instead and then not refrigerate it before cooking?

  • I got here bytyping chicken and cheese in the search bar

  • That looked so delicious ! What other kind of cheese could you use for this instead of swiss?

  • @Wonderfullycreated73 I use a mexican blend from the store, and it's fantastic. :)

  • HI, im currently in singapore and i've been looking around for that stuffing, is there any alternative i can use for the herb season stuffing?

  • @vampireassault You can use croutons and season them with dried sage and any other herbs that you like.

    --Betty :)

  • I made this a few nights ago and my boyfriend and I loved it! This is definitely going in my recipe file and will be made again and again. Thanks for sharing your wonderful recipes.

  • Jus got back from store and have all I need....Wish me luck.. BTW....Thanks Betty for all the vid's....My kid thinks Im a cook now :)

  • @HY2THA4TH I hope your dinner comes out great!

    --Betty :)

  • I'm trying this tonight! It's already in the refrigerator waiting to be cooked! Next, I want to try the Parmesan Chicken Macaroni and another chicken casserole with wild rice. I'm excited! I love trying new recipes. Betty, how do you stay so fit???

  • @april2026 I love great food--but I only eat small portions of anything fattening. I mainly eat fruits, vegetables, and protein--but I don't deny myself any particular food!

    --Betty :)

  • @bettyskitchen

Good for you! I'm working on portion control. By the way, this dish was to die for. My family LOVED it!!! Thanks!

  • May I please come have dinner at your house??? This looks SO good!!! Haha im only 14 but im going to try and make this!!! Thank you so much

  • @cod9898989 Thanks for your sweet comment! I hope you enjoy the casserole!

    --Betty :)

  • Hi, I've made this for my husband and it's his fav dish ever! He loves the cheese and cream of chicken a lot, could I add more than suggested, and still turn out the same, with same cooking time? Also, if I prepare the dish ahead of time and leave it in the fridge, would it be okay, for say about.. 6 hours?? thanks!!

  • @reshanamarie Thanks for your great feedback! Yes, you may add more cheese and cream of chicken soup; it will just make more of the tasty gravy. Yes, you may keep it in the fridge for 6 hours easily.

    --Betty :)

  • If I was going to double this recipe, how much longer would I have to cook it for?

  • @806nena Hey my mom made this yesturday for and we followed betty's instructions to cook this in the oven for 55 minutes. SO if you are doubling it i would say about 1 hour and 45 minutes or so. :) It was soo yummy

  • @806nena If you put it in a larger baking pan and spread it to the same thickness of the original recipe, it should be done in the same time as the original recipe.

    --Betty :)

  • Betty, what is the melted butter for, and can it be skipped? (im really watching fat content thats all)

  • @GreeKPryNZeS The butter makes it taste a little richer, but you may leave it out. There is plenty of cheese to make up for it.

    --Betty :)

  • I found your video very informative. I will have to try making one of your casseroles sometime. I'm going to subscribe to your channel. I really like that coat too.

  • @catfoodmoney Thanks for your sweet comment! Also, thanks for the sub. I will return the favor!

    --Betty :)

  • @catfoodmoney It depends on the depth of the casserole, but I would plan on cooking it 1.5 times as long.

    --Betty :)

  • Hi Betty,

Does the dish have to be in the fridge for two hours???

    Thank you

  • @yankman91 No, you may bake it right away. Sitting for 2 hours allows the flavors to mingle, and allows for making it ahead of time, but it is not necessary. It will taste great either way!

    --Betty :)

  • What kind o herb stuffing mix is this u use ? I it the kind u would make for thanksgiving but not cook it or actually croutons

  • @brittneydargusch21 You may use either. I have done it both ways, and also half-and-half. It always comes out delicious!

    --Betty :)

  • When you cook with Swiss, remind yourself that Swiss cheese is a great analogy for life itself After all, life is not bland and predictable like Cream Cheese or American. Rather , life has holes and it how you get through them that counts!

To find out more how the analogy of Swiss can help you put life in perspective, visit The Swiss Cheese Theory of Life web site. On October 1st our book, The Swiss Cheese Theory of Life, will be released!

  • @THESWISSWIZ Interesting comment!

    --Betty :)

  • This is my second time making the dish... Excellent.. Thanks

  • @Thepurfectme I am delighted that you like the recipe! Thanks for the great feedback!

    --Betty :)

  • Just made this for my family tonight (along with the browned butter mashed potatoes recipe!) And my husband said it was the BEST chicken meal he's EVER had! I am so happy with how it came out. Thanks so much for your help. I plan to watch more videos of yours and give them a try also. :)

  • @reshanamarie Thanks for your great feedback! I really appreciate it!

    --Betty :)

  • I put broccoli in mine and it steamed brilliantly with the foil on top. :) Thank you so much Betty! I absolutely loved this recipe!

  • @NeionaNeiona Thanks for your great feedback! I really appreciate it! The addition of broccoli sounds wonderful!

    --Betty :)

  • betty i forgot to put oil at the bottom of the pan is there anything i can do?

  • @elma3220 That should not be a problem. There is enough oil in the Swiss cheese to keep the casserole from sticking to the bottom of the baking dish.

    --Betty :)

  • i'm so excited i'm making this for dinner tonight :)

  • @missShimmer84 I hope you enjoy it! Thanks for commenting!

    --Betty :)

  • I can't wait to make this for my husband!!!! Looks wonderful. You have so many good recipes!! Thank you so much for sharing

  • @amyhc1205 Thanks for your lovely comment! I hope you and your husband enjoy this chicken casserole!

    --Betty :)

  • @bettyskitchen I made it tonight and we both loved it! I added some chopped green chili's to the soup mixture:)!! Delish!

  • @amyhc1205 Thanks for the great feedback! I like the idea of adding the chopped green chiles!

    --Betty :)

  • hi betty. is there anyway you can eat pasta with this?

  • @MultiButtholes You can have pasta on the side (maybe cooked in chicken stock), or you can cook some pasta and put it in the casserole mixture and bake it. You might need to increase the amount of cheese sauce.

    --Betty :)

  • This is one of my favorites of yours Betty. I make it all the time now.

  • @toddcalling Hi, Todd! I'm delighted that you like it! Be sure to try the Parmesan Chicken with Wild Rice sometime; it's my favorite chicken casserole! I hope you have a beautiful weekend!

    --Betty :)

  • Can I use any cheese I like in this recipe Ab also can I use the wild rice in this recipe like other one

  • @brittneydargusch21 Yes, you may use any cheese, and you may use wild rice. When using wild rice you might want to use the fast cooking kind, or boil it in chicken broth until it is about halfway done before adding it to the casserole.

    --Betty :)

  • Can u add the wild rice to this recipe like the other one that has rice I just don't care for parmesan cheese but like swizz

  • @brittneydargusch21 Yes, wild rice is fine.

    --Betty :)

    --Betty :)

  • I see what I am making for dinner with a friend Tue...this looks so yummy. Might throw in some broccoli too...thanks for posting Betty.

  • @KissHope I think you will like this recipe. Adding the broccoli sounds great!

    --Betty :)

  • @bettyskitchen So that stuffing mix is crutans?? Like the things you put in with your ceaser salad? I could be wrong.

  • @MrCurry101 Yes, this type of stuffing mix is just flavored croutons--the type you would put in a Caesar salad.

    --Betty :)

  • First off u Ur beautiful and I like Ur jacket lol and umm the dish looks delicious I'm trying it tonight!!:)

  • @irvingserrot626 Thanks for your lovely comment!

    --Betty :)

  • I'm trying this tonight and I'm a terrible cook. hehe Wish me luck!

  • @glitterystar04 Good luck! I hope the casserole comes out great!

    --Betty :)

  • is that betty crocker?

  • i think she should do a vegetarian recipe

  • will surely try this, thanks for your help.

  • Betty, i love this receipt and the instructions are simple and clear but my problem is the Herb Seasoned Stuffing, haven't see anything like it, what is it? any substitute product? thanks for sharing your wonderful recipes.

  • @FathiyaG The herb-seasoned stuffing is just a topping. You may replace it with crushed cracker crumbs. You may season the crumbs with herbs, if you like, but that's not necessary.

    --Betty :)

  • @FathiyaG I had never seen it either till I saw this video. The next day I went to the store, I noticed it right away. I found it next to the mashed potato boxes/packages.

  • @glitterystar04 will look for it, thanks

  • Dear Betty, Thank you for this recipe. I love it. By the way, if I bake it for 55 minutes, will it burn? I have tried to bake something for 45 minutes and it burn. Please respond comment. -Jason from Malaysia (using sister's account)

  • @PurpleLashess Ovens vary, so I would start watching the casserole at about 40 minutes and then check it every 5 minutes or so, and take it out of the oven when it is done to my taste.

    --Betty :)

  • Amazing! :)

  • yum looks so good

  • my favourite part ..sorry but it is.. 10:10 - 10:16 ...mhhh, yummy !!

  • I tried your recipe today I was a little scared, I am not very handy around the kitchen but I followed your video step by step. My husband enjoyed it so much he is looking foward to tomorrows dinner....Betty thank you so much now that I was able to cook this I feel I can go for the other recipe you have plus a desert....I'll let you know how it went.

  • Hi Betty, your recipes seem like they are so good and delicious and mouth watering! but I have high BP problem and I watch my sodium intake, so can you make some suggestions with the recipe you are showing so that the taste is compromised a bit (which I hate so much!) but its still the same recipe? Thanks in advance and keep up the good work! -Sayan :)

  • Betty,

I'm a novice when it comes to cooking.

I love the way you break your instructions down.

Is there a way to print them?

I've used a couple of your recipes, and jotted down the directions.

    Thanks.

  • @Nazz1952 You can block the recipe, and "print selection," or you can block the recipe and paste it in a text document (like a Word document), and then print the document.

    --Betty :)

  • You should get a show on food network.hehe. I love all your cooking your husband is a lucky man.

  • Betty you are an inspiration! I love watching you cook. You really give great ideas of how busy moms like me can make outstanding dishes. Thanks so much!

  • Betty I just made this but I put 8 oz of sliced portabella mushrooms over the chicken and proceeded with your recipe. It was really good! Everything from Bettys Kitchen is awesome! Thanks Again! Chaz

  • it must be freezing were you live. I can tell by the coat!

  • I am going to attempt to make this this weekend, you explain everything so well, step by step i love it Looking forward to tasting this. wish me luck : )

  • I have made this dish for years, my family loves it I have also made it with a vegetable mixed into it (asparagus), I have also made it with a thin slice of ham on top of the chicken and then the cheese on top.I have also made it with cream of celery soup with a can of cream of chicken. It is good so many different ways, thanks so much for the video :-)

  • @DLP1962 Thanks for sharing all the ways you can change this casserole! It's nice to know what works well before trying it!

    --Betty :)

  • i typed cheese and i found this

  • This is a very good Dish! I just made it and I can't wait to eat it! Thank you Betty :)

  • @AylinsMOM2010 Thanks for the great feedback! I really appreciate it!

    --Betty :)

  • I've tried couple of your recipes, they were great! With this recipe, would that be okay to cook the chicken tender in advance and cut down on the baking time? Thanks

  • @tpnnutr Yes, that's a good idea. The length of the cooking time is mainly to get the chicken done!

    --Betty :)

  • Can I use a different cheese?

  • @selena324 Yes, you may use any cheese that you like 9in the same amount).

    --Betty :)

  • Your kids and husband must be so happy to have you around! lol The food looks sooo yummy! haha :) xo

  • that looks like shit

  • Hi Betty, I really liked your recipe for French Silk Pie and now it's a dessert favorite. I was wondering if you could make more videos about Southern cuisine, particularly catfish and deserts like red velvet cake. Thanks.

  • @Amino2 Hi! Thanks for your compliment on the French Silk Pie! I do have baked catfish and fried catfish, as well as red velvet cake in bettyskitchen. Just go to bettyskitchen and use those keywords in your search.

    why is that?

    _________

    anyway; great recipe!!!!

  • I made this for dinner tonight and it was even more delicious than I expected. Thanks so much for this recipe and all your other wonderful creations in the kitchen!!

  • hi betty, i'm a new viewer and a college student so money is tight. this is the first recipe i've tried from you and it was SO delicious! i love that it's so few ingredients and it's healthy.

since i am only cooking for myself, i did change a few things. i didn't use the milk with the soup and i only used 6 chicken cutlets instead of 12. i used a smaller pan and italian style mixed cheese instead of swiss. i cooked for about 50 minutes and then browned it. will DEFINITELY makeagain!

    xo annette

  • I tried this & was delicioussss Thanks betty :]

And fat free cheese isalso available in US (I could not believe it either :) )

As usual... u look so beautiful and I want to be like u :(...

    <3 <3

  • Hi!

Yes, you may substitute I Can't believe It's Not Butter! for real butter and fat-free cheese in place of the regular cheese. It will be great! (We wil be having some weekly contests in March sponsored by I Can't Believe It's Not Butter! Be sure and enter! Thanks for your sweet compliment!

    --Betty :)

  • i hate u, it looks too delicious that it hurts me cz im not eating it :D

  • Thanks for the messasweet comment Remember--small portions!

    --Betty :)

  • thanks for this recipe, I will try it for dinner.

  • I hope you enjoyed it! Thanks for commenting!

    --Betty :)

  • Betty this looks great! I think it would be great for us to make on a Sunday and then have leftovers for lunch or dinner the following days. Thanks for another great idea!

  • Thanks! A lot of people have asked me for recipes that they can prepare on the weekend, freeze, and thaw out during the week. this one would be great! Thanks for mentioning it!

    --Betty :)

  • That casserole looks great...I do believe my husband would really enjoy that. Also I love your jacket. Do you make your own clothes...I really like your blouses that you wear....you really know how to mix and match, something I'm not very good at. How a great evening.

  • Thanks for your compliment on the casserole! I hope you enjoy it! No, I don't make my own clothes. I used to, but did not have time for it while working full time as a math teacher. I do a lot of mixing and matching, so it probably looks like I have more clothes than I really do!

    --Betty :)

  • could you use like regular croutons instead of the other ones?

  • Yes! Try to get the seasoned ones, because a lot of the flavor of the casserole comes from the herb-seasoning! Thanks for asking!

    --Betty :)

  • Thank you so much Steve for posting Betty's recipe on your site (thechef42). Now that I'm starving after watching this guess I'll make a trip to the grocery store so I can try this wonderful dish! lol

    YUMMY and then some. :)

    Hugs, Joyce :):)

  • Hi Joyce,

I hope you had an opportunity to try this chicken casserol, and I hope you enjoyed it! Thanks for commenting!

    --Betty :)

  • Hello Betty, so nice to hear from you and Yes, I did try the recipe and it was delicious...lol Even though I usually am just cooking for one I love to make dishes that cover a few days of meals and this one sure did. Very easy and so tasty. Actually sometimes leftovers taste better to me the next day after they sit and soak in all the flavors. Thank you so much for all that you do here on YT and for allowing us this privilidge, dear.

Smiles and Hugs from Ga...Joyce :):)xx

  • Betty, Thanks for the great recipe idea, my daughter loves chicken of all kinds from the patties, nuggets, strips u name it. I am going to have to take and give this one a shot with in the next few days . Bet that would also go great with a green bean casserole.

    Steve.........:))

  • @thechef42 I hope you like the chicken! Yes, it would be great with a green bean casserole! Thanks for your nice comment!

    --Betty :)

  • @bettyskitchen Hello Betty. What is your opinion on Spanish cuisine?

  • @dowling1981 Hi! I'm not really familiar enough with Spanish cuisine to have an opinion. It sounds interesting, though.

    --Betty :)

  • @bettyskitchen Yes it is quite interesting, especially the tapas aspect. Have you had tapas before?

  • Can you use croutons instead of stuffing mix? By the way I love your show. It is done very professionally.

  • Thanks for your lovely comment! Yes, you can use (small) flavored croutons instead of the stuffing mix. It should be great!

    --Betty :)

  • @bettyskitchen : Your casserole is wonderful! We made a couple of small changes to suit our family...I cut the tenders into small pieces so it was easier to scoop out a serving all in one swipe. And I replaced the milk with the same amout of dry white wine. It was great! My family loves egg noodles so next time I am going to try to make double the sauce and have enough to cover a pound of noodles too. Thanks so much, Betty.

  • Thanks for your wonderful feedback, Patsy! I like the changes you made. I will try it that way next time!

    --Betty :)

  • Thanks for your wonderful feedback! Your changes sound great! I will try it that way next time!

    --Betty :)

  • Nicely done, very tasty looking! For some reason has me thinking of spam, do you think you could substitute spam for chicken?

    Great video, thanks for sharing!

  • Yes, you could substitute Spam in place of the chicken--if you prefer Spam to chicken! I hope you enjoy the recipe, Jimbo!

    --Betty :)

  • Hehehe, not so much that I prefer it, just trying to figure ways to make Angie happy... she loves spam and I now eat it, but prefer it covered up with something...

Just love the video's thanks for sharing them with the rest of us!

  • My pleasure!

    --Betty :)

  • Looks great. :] and you look very nice!

  • Thanks...and thanks!

    --Betty :)

  • I've made a millin casserole's like this and they usually dont come out well. i dont know why. They
