I Know that Africans come in different shades and features. But I Personally don't find Africans that are darker and more African Looking to be very attractive. I find light-skinned, mulatto, white, and Native American women attractive but rarely dark-skinned black or Asian

Well that's true, but that's only because whites were obsessed with their whiteness and racial purity in the United States, and because of this many people who barely looked black were treated that way because of the one drop rule. Look up Charles Chesnutt, Walter White, and Adam Clayton Powell Jr. All of them looked completely white but were treated as though and identified as black. In Africa or Latin America most very light skinned mulattos are not considered black

When he was in daycare at age 4 he stated that he is black and white and a "teacher" (who is Hispanic) told him that he is only black. Unfortunately, some people are just still so ignorant.

@blackreader19two It’s obvious by your comment that you do not know the complexities of African American ethnicity. Over 30% of African Americans are of an ancestral decent other than African. Various ethnic traits can lay dormant for generations and then resurface in grand/great grand children (or further down the family tree). To address your statement, many African American woman look just as “ethnic” as she does and have only black parents/grandparents on both sides of their family.

The segment of the baby's name, Manakauapo, is ungrammatical. Lisa Bonet should have chosen someone who speaks Hawaiian if she wanted to be all cool and cultural. Instead, she slapped together a bunch of words hoping it would means something. Now that child is stuck with that hideous, ungrammatical name.

At first glance, because she gave the explanation that Manakauapo was supposed to mean "powerful rainy night," it appeared that they put the name together by writing it out in English and substituting each word with a Hawaiian one, and perhaps mistaking ka and ua as a single word. The phrase can mean "the night rain is powerful."
