Wow that is some great jj right there! At first I thought they were beginners because of their stances (I'm used to watching wrestling matches, not jj matches, so I'm not sure if their stances were regular or not), but man they have great technique - just overall great fluidity in their submission attempts. Great work from both these two. Was definitely surprised by the smaller one...the stance seemed kinda lax, but that flying arm bar attempt was impressive
I dont know man maybe not in canada but ive seen lots of videos where this 6 year old girl and this 4 year old boy and this 8 year old sitting there getting a submission from another kid via armbar or choke.... there are far better things to be teaching kids than that... in a real martial art harmony discipline and respect and inner peace are the fundamentals you will not get that in mma... combat is the last aspect of any true martial art...
I've seen that clip - and i'm sure it was showcased via tv. Our brazilian jiu jitsu community abhors this misrepresentation and we generally *freak* when we get word of it - unfortunately there are those on the outside of the community who believe they can teach what we practice and make a quick buck off the sensationalism that the mma sport is bringing.
yeah real martial arts des Not this mma bullcrap mma is good for a workout.. its not a true martial art.. and dont get me started on parents who get their 5 year old kids into competitions where they choke other kids out... the industry term for that is BAD...
this isn't MMA - mixed martial arts is an all encompassing term for all martial arts combined - do you see any punching in this? kicks? This is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu tournament held at an MMA expo -where there were all sorts of disciplines showcased. AND nowhere in Canada do we have 5 yr olds choking out others. I know of no school in canada teaching little kids this -in brazilian jj -they learn to roll- shoulder roll etc- they dont learn submissions -unlike others who teach them to hit and kick
Your 'teaching' is disturbing. Perhaps you should read up on situations like Columbine or perhaps the Virginia Tech massacre? - martial arts teaches people control, restraint, patience and respect for your fellows.
i could never get my children into this. i could not teach them to have respect for someone trying to hurt them and getting away with it. what i teach my children is simple: if someone hurts you, wait for your chance and split thier skull open along with anyone who supports them. this is some realy stupid stuff being introduced into our culture.
very interesting: skinny girl good technique but minimal physical condition while the shorter girl strong, but no idea of what's going on
