The last word in the song "otomodachi" should be friends, but the translation is different, however it could just be that I heard it wrong.

It's interesting, I am teaching a student in his late twenties English here in Japan. He is actually the apprentice of a man by the name of Takahashi who operates a dojo that practices the traditional form of "Neko-ken". At first I didn't believe me until he showed me the technique. I'm surprised, neko-ken is real xD...and there are people (albeit very few) who practice it in Japan!

Such a good show. One of the few series to really... and I mean REALLY explore gender roles. It had humor and good writing like Seinfeld. It had awesome, well developed characters.
The show also seems to be... almost promoting or bringing about a certain kind of Yin energy. The show works with these energies.. the Yang and Yin. The women characters in this show are very awesome. That includes Ranma in his girl form. Hint of Feminism in the show.
i think that her hair was cut to make a bigger distinction between her and shampoo. on that not I have a problem with Ranma SHAMPOO is way better than akane.
in that case I don't see whats more appealing to you about shampoo, see akane could kill you even if she can't kill Ranma but besides that Ranmas way better than shampoo so it's not like she can kill him anyway. if Ranma picked his girlfriends like that he;d have to be with shampoos granny!

It's not a translation of the Japanese (not that it matters anyway, as it's just a TV show and not your life force, overzealous people give me the creeps.) It's an English sing-along for the original tune. Try it, it works!

I halfly-agree with LaymanX - translation is terrible, because It doesnt show real meaning, but its also good, because i shows translator's creativity. Anyway, in rest of anime translation is also in poor condition, like translating "obaa-san" to "Cologne" so cmon - maybe it doesnt make a difference for these who rather wont learn japanese, but for those like me or LaymanX - it makes a HUGE difference.

I hate to break it you but my Japanese is most likely FAR better than yours. If you knew it, you would know nearly 75% of the song has been mistranslated. I only used the 1st and 3rd lines as an example to people who didn't know Japanese, because it's easy to hear that they're the same.
i get sad re-watching this because i spent 3200 minutes and i got a bad end.

in that case I don't see whats more appealing to you about shampoo, see akane could kill you even if she can't kill Ranma but besides that Ranmas way better than shampoo so it's not like she can kill him anyway. if Ranma picked his girlfriends like that he;d have to be with shampoos granny!

It's not a translation of the Japanese (not that it matters anyway, as it's just a TV show and not your life force, overzealous people give me the creeps.) It's an English sing-along for the original tune. Try it, it works!
And don't take this stuff so seriously. Fans are one thing, but otaku are Asperger-like in their obsession.

I halfly-agree with LaymanX - translation is terrible, because It doesnt show real meaning, but its also good, because i shows translator's creativity. Anyway, in rest of anime translation is also in poor condition, like translating "obaa-san" to "Cologne" so cmon - maybe it doesnt make a difference for these who rather wont learn japanese, but for those like me or LaymanX - it makes a HUGE difference.

Even if you don't know a lick of Japanese you can figure it out. The 1st and 3rd lines are exactly the same...yet the subber translated them differently.

In the Japanese language, there are no different words. If you didn't know a lick of Japanese, you wouldn't care. -_-'
Say you're trying to look for someone, but you get the wrong person. You will ask, and they will say "Iie." Meaning, you've got the wrong person. You say sorry, they say "Iie!" Meaning, it's okay.

I have no idea what the fuck you're saying but I think you're trying to say that the lines are different because they have different meanings, like most words do.
I hate to break it you but my Japanese is most likely FAR better than yours. If you knew it, you would know nearly 75% of the song has been mistranslated. I only used the 1st and 3rd lines as an example to people who didn't know Japanese, because it's easy to hear that they're the same.
