I do not like the new format.

I am using Windows 7, 64 bit with IE 8, and the play button does not work consistently, the links on the right, the mouse stays on a pointer, not a link hand, when hovering over a video.

Also when trying to comment, it takes forever for the text to type.

I do not have any problems with any other website, and this is a new install of Windows 7. They all seem to be code related. It also takes forever on the expand arrows for the categories to expand.

yeah ain't this f'd up.. I can't use internet explorer for youtube with the new screwy design, cause it freezes up, and now that I downloaded google desktop, I'm having a problem with firefox have to keep refreshing to even get the video to play, other than that I'm looking at a blank page, what is google thinking? but they can do whatever they want, cause we've given them all the power.. :(

so in answer to your question, can we opt out, that would be 'no' google took that option away, I'm leaving this video up, on purpose, so people can vent their anger and so google can see that there are people still STILL having problems with their bogus 'design' I read one of the purposes of why they did this is to make it harder for people to download other peoples vids, But I will tell you how, and it's easier than the way you were doing before.

@mhatsko I'm just trying to "save" them to my favorites or other playlists I've created on youtube and I get the "loading" message thru the video and it never loads anything.

Unfortunately there was nothing more we could do, all the channels have now been automatically changed. This is very disheartening. It's a sad sad day. I see they took out the 'option' to revert back. I guess we could have protested till we were blue in the face and it wouldn't have made a bit of difference. I'm leaving this video up on my channel to still send that message to google/youtube.

Youtube just changed my channel I'm so sad. I loved that my channel looked different and unique to other peoples. I spent a long time making my channel look just the way I liked it. The new look is so icky looking. Youtube said they where gonna make the new channels optional but apparently that was a lie.

so apparently the 'protest' worked or at least bought us some time. all channels were supposed to switch on July 15 2009 but I still have mine under the 'old' design, and I see alot of other people do too. Do you use internet explorer? or mozilla firefox? when I use explorer pages hang, I have trouble with the back button, it takes way longer to load. just a big headache, it's like a diversion to steer people away from watching people videos. I feel bad for people with slow computers.

They said they're not updating until they get it to load properly in IE6, so you can calm down. The new designs are much better - you can have saved themes, much more customizability, and it looks better. Just deal with it; I do <_<

Who uses IE6? Upgrade to 8 or Mozilla most website don't even support IE6 or lower anymore. Plus viewing sites with IE6 is crappy looking with extra lines ugh awful!
