Does this have a competitive/high level scene? I've been looking to get back into AC, but 4 was a loss and despite how great V looks, i'm not liking the overall direction - obviously, still need to play it.

They have ruined the whole game making it into a 3rd person shoot-em up,they should of stuck to the turn base strategy combat system ,thats what made front mission realy fun to play in the first place why change it,i mean we have already got plenty of robot shoot-em up like armored core etc!!l BIG Let down for the strategy fans out there.BRING BACK THE REAL FRONT MISSION!!!NOT THIS RUBISH!!!

@60829 mechwarrior online comes out in the summer, and if you have an Xbox or PS3, armored core is always a worthwhile choice if you dont have it already.

@myachizero good point but some people like me find AC too fast paced to follow. dont get me wrong i love the Ac series but its so fast it ruins my nerves at times, this is more like mechwarrior and i find it quite enjoyable :) i do prefer the strategy Front missions over this but because its a whole different genre it should be judged by its own merits

I'm not mad they tried to make it different from the previous Strategy-based style. Honestly, I'm mad because they didn't even do it WELL. Armor,ammo and health PICKUPS? That's ridiculous. Also, you couldn't even customize it the way you wanted on some missions. They could have done so much better, than I can't even laugh at this game. It's a good thing my copy was free;else I'd have raged even more.

@soulofthedammed I think so i beat the game enjoyed it all the way through the multiplayer is fun but lacks player so i encourage EVERYONE to buy this game its extremely fun if your into mech style games ill assure you this is the mech equivilant of C.o.D just need more people for multiplayer is all ^^

@Innomen It is. Just bought it for the pc, but a bit disappointed. Just in this tutorial mission they violated three (3) very basic rules about the wanzers. One, jetpacks could only give them a boost to jump tall buildings, not sustain them in constant flight. Two, Wanzers could not 'slide' and strafe at the same time, let alone zigzag. It was always in a straight line. Three, wanzers were notoriously slow to start moving in any direction. Yet to rapidly change directions 180 degrees? 1:25

The sad truth is machines like this will never be developed because it would turn into an arms race based on speed, a race which missiles, aircraft, and artillery have already won :/

I see what you are aiming at, a sort of war of the titans, or even a kind of line of sight space opera like in star wars or star trek, but in real life, it would be about range, stealth, and projectiles. There has never been a real space combat game, and there can never be a real mech combat game.

@Innomen but mechwarrior is still pretty fun, and considering they have balistic missiles, aircraft and artillery (just like in warhammer 40k) the mechs there (and titans in 40k) are very useful, considering how many countermeasure systems they have. I believe there is hope for them, or maybe not, i dont think we will be around to see it happen anyway :D
