Yeah, I think you're right about it being scripted. This sometimes happen when a good show comes to the US from the UK. For some odd reason they seem to think they need to spice things up and add some punch or something. Instead they just end up making it seem stilted and uncomfortable. Too bad really. This episode is really bad!
This is what I expected when he came to the US for this show - owners who, despite ASKING him to come there, would have a huge chip on their shoulders and would have zero respect for him to start with. Yeah, I think you're right about it being scripted. This sometimes happen when a good show comes to the US from the UK. For some odd reason they seem to think they need to spice things up and add some punch or something. Instead they just end up making it seem stilted and uncomfortable. Too bad really. This episode is really bad!

This is what I expected when he came to the US for this show - owners who, despite ASKING him to come there, would have a huge chip on their shoulders and would have zero respect for him to start with. And I wish I could say I was surprised about these people and their mouths in front of the customers.

i'm sorry but if I were Chef Gordon I would have left there immediately and let that restaraunt go bankrupt....first off he was correct about the salad and everything else, but to scream that loud so all customers could hear it is so unprofessional. take criticism guys, that is why you had him come..if you didn't want criticism you should have kept your mouths shut! damn.

You can see him break a plate when he plops the dish in the sink, so it's likely to believe the first shatter you hear is real. Fox is pretty over the top, but I think even they have more dignity than that.
