  • I fucking love this live, but if anyone here will say Shinya sucks I will blow up his retarded head and slowly cut his body so he will die in such pain he deserves. Moral of the story: Don't insult my favourite drummer~

  • kyo's look now with his black hair looks great he looks profesional and like legit, but to me this look he looks like hes on drugs. i like the new look.:)

  • Who dares to compare Diru to Slipknot or Korn. Diru is one of the darkest bands [lyrics] I know, and Slipknot and Korn don't even come CLOSE to Diru's brilliancy.

  • @Skid20055 I'm not sure about the validity of the word "brilliancy"but Dir En Gray are certainly darker than the teenage angst of Korn or Slipknot and you don't even have to look at the lyrics to work that out. They are a lot more expressive in their music, live act and videos and even though it strictly isn't my sort of music now I've gotten older, I really appreciate the artistic merit.

  • How can these guys be nu-metal? They're not boring!!!

  • 3:00-3:43 fucking epic!

  • i like how i can hear toshiya slap the bass

  • i love the way shinya beats those fucking drums

  • that crowd isnt so good really

  • favorate asian bands (top 3) the gazette-nega-dir en grey. they get me up in the morning

  • I'm not into nu metal at all, but this song is pretty cool.

  • You guys have to be fucking deaf if you don't hear some early Korn influence in this song, just listen to the bass and guitars, I'm not saying this band sounds like Korn, but this song kinda does.

  • @nastierpogo this is done live dude listen to the original song not live and it sounds nothing like korn.

  • @TheDragonlord103 I've heard the studio and live versions, and I must say the kind of guitar riffs are pretty similar what Korn used to play in their early songs, there's a CLEAR influence in this track.

  • Thats the sickest 8 string I've ever seen!

  • @cluSterfUck1000 seven string*

  • @Twiggyay 8 string now, as of 2011 they shred 8 strings, brutal

  • @1019129114 I've never read, heard or seen them with an eight string, seven at the most.

  • @Twiggyay i jus heard sumwhere the guitars play 8 strings i mite b wrong but i usually focus on drums n vocals ur proley rite

  • @1019129114 your right, the entire dum spiro spero album is done with eight strings.

  • @douglasroxygrey thats a shit ton of strings

  • @douglasroxygrey Correction, the guitars used 7 strings and the bass uses 5 strings. It's better than their 6 strings in my opinion!

  • @douglasroxygrey right you are. I realized that not long after I wrote that and felt a little silly. Shame on me

  • his vocals r so gnar he sounds like an ape

  • 最高すぎる

  • hey EVERYONE!!!!! SHUT THE FUCK UP AND JUST LISTEN!!!! DIR EN GREY IS THE ONLY AND FUCK OFF IF YOU COMPARE THEM TO SHITTY AMERICAN BANDS LIKE KORN AND SLIPKNOT!

  • @ThrashingInAcidRain lol. Korn isnt shitty. I dont see whats so shitty about Korn. Dir en grey and korn have amazing lyrics and songs. Slipknot on the other hand. Huge fucking sell outs. Fun music to listen to. But huge fucking sell outs.

  • Its from year 2008^^ at the hide memorial summit. RIP hide. well.. I love that live^^ kyo isnt cutting himself because he had a bad childhood (he didnt had a bad childhood, he said that it was just normal like everyones) i think, hes cutting himself because of his emotions, I mean, srsly read the lyrics, you guys know what i'm talkin about. i'm glad that he stopped doing that live, also i dont like that he cut himself at a memorial summit..-__- anyway.. I love Kyo <3

  • what year is this

  • No I just think that people dont how to enjoy a great show and what they do at a show is no where near fake or just to get people to like them..

  • No I just think that people dont how to enjoy a great show and what they do at a show is no where fake or just to get people to like them..

  • Toshiya and Kyo Rocks this one !!!

  • the ending was beautiful. the light behind kyo face look like the dawning sun overcasting.

  • Kyo screams like the devil and sings like an angel

  • YEAH

    I love this song

    KYOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

    he fucking awesome

  • I wonder if Kyo hurts himself because he is tormented by some deeply traumatic childhood horror like most self abusers. The performance was great but honestly it does bother me to see him hurt himself and bleeding. Maybe its a turn on or relievement for him. Guess I just care too much....

  • Comment removed

  • @dmrjeter most if not all of his self-mutilation is fake, like when he uses fake vomit onstage. it's part of his showmanship

  • @ankl3deep Thanks because Kyo in general sometimes weirds me out but I love their sound and Toshiya and Shinya. But isn`t it real when he scratches himself up? You have to admit some of the stuff he does is throwed off but sometimes I like throwed off.

  • @ankl3deep

I don't know where you heard this. LOL

  • @SATOunbroken It's just kind of obvious. On tour he usually does the same kind of stuff at exactly the same point in the show every time. If he actually cut the same spot in his arm that many times for every show of the tour he would have cut clean through the bone by then.

  • @ankl3deep

Well, he has scars all over his body so I guess those are fake too. LOL

  • @SATOunbroken No, I know he's totally into self-mutilation. I'm just saying most of the shit he does at shows is just for show.

  • The music is awesome just like the vocals but y do they have to ding about death and turture and y does kyo cut himself?

  • @deathsinatrix93 this song is about abortion

  • @deathsinatrix93 Kyo mentioned about his lyrics being the foundation against which suffering and realistic pain in which we bear in the real world can be compared and contrasted. Cutting himself is a common theatricality found in many performances. I find it much less painful to watch than pop singers gyrating to auto tuned voices and technically boring looped tunes.

  • the voice is shit live

  • hes bleeding :D

  • They Rock!!!!They have Style!!!!Awsome!!!

  • Kyo is batshit fucking insane.

    AND I LOVE IT.

  • wow. I cannot believe that anybody criticised Diru due to skill level! I mean, if you don't like them, fair enough, but to criticise their skills as musicians? Are you crazy? Shin is an amazing drummer, Kaoru and Die are fantastic guitarists and complete riff machines, Toshi is an awesome bass player and Kyo, he is an extremely talented vocalist and front man. LONG LIVE DIRU!

  • what this song's about? i really want to know.

  • @jackxu1 It's about abortion. The lyrics are all in japanese, but he says "Blood, babies and sacrifice" in the bridge in the middle. Look up a translation vid, theyre great lyrics.

  • omg is the lead singer drunk???

    holy crap!

  • @girlpride14X3 Probably not. Kyo just has a very strange style of vocal delivery, but IMO, it works perfectly. The slur on the clean vocals fits the setting of the songs quite nicely.

  • @guitarrhythymfool thats true kyo has a lovely voice. love the song kodou. OBSessed with dir en grey

  • From what Ive seen when i see them live, it doesnt matter if people are there for Dir en grey or another band, this song gets people going

  • Haha kyo looks exhausted

  • what do the guitarist play in? it sounds around B

  • @metalhead321

Drop A tuning. Pretty damn low haha :P

  • @CharvelDude94

Oh my.. I don`t even accomplish to play in B tuning. Dammit.. damn low indeed!

  • @CharvelDude94 the 7 string guitar is tuned to ADADGBE

its like drop A and drop D put together

  • @metalhead321 drop AD

  • Kyo is without a doubt one of the most skilled singers I've ever heard. ^___^

I'd say he's high up in the ranks near Freddie Mercury.

  • i want the drug kyo's on lol

  • WHOA Toshiya is damn cool here =D He doesn't usually play Obscure like that though. Haha, it's a pretty boring song bass-wise so I guess decided to "spice it up" It's such a cool technique, not propper slapping, he's just wacking the hell out of that bass! 8D

  • Diru sounds like Diru and not like Korn or Slipknot . . . Do you ever thought that Korn and Slipknot sounds like Dir En Grey . . . ?! Godbless Diru !!!

  • Comment removed

  • @28fatkidsLater KoRn came way before Dir en Grey. They had that sound way before them too. It's ok for them to be influenced by them. Slipknot is obviously influenced by them too. That doesn't make them any less talented or great as musicians.

  • @28fatkidsLater Nah, Slipknot and KoRn came years BEFORE Diru. I don't see how they sound like each other though...

  • I have to learn the bassline for this, badass song with good anti abortion lyrics.

  • That Ending Was Stunning

  • Looooooooooooove the bass.

  • They need to fix there teeth

  • he is so hot.

  • Slap bass with gothic death metal!? These guys are even more awesome than I thought. Kyo's voice here is stronger than ever.

  • wow, amazzzzing ;_; <3

  • hey im needing alot of help i found music video by them awhile back and now i cant rember the name it was like 11 mins long and i was whanting to downlaod it but cant rember the name plz help

  • Hmmm Am I the only one who kinda see's these guys as the Japanese SlipKnot? More or less the older SlipKnot. Like their creepier songs you know? I see so much of that in here. I love the freaky tainted feel here.

  • @CrypticGrudge In a sense.. but theres a huge difference between Dir en grey and Slipknot... Slipknot likes to sound like utter gross tones and repetitivness when it comes to their songs... Just cause they don't care.. Dir en grey doesn't care what people want, but they do care about what they wanna throw out. They take a lot of time and pride into what they write and express it live.. And it can go from one extreme to the next in their genre all the time. Slipknots always heavy

  • @FacingItAlone Not quite. I think Slipknot puts as much work into their music as anyone else. And I kinda felt that Dir en Grey sounded more like Korn, kinda cause of the emphasis on rhythm and the bass being more noticeable, rather than drowned out by the rest of the band, as Slipknot tends to do. And Slipknot isn't always heavy, especially in their past two albums.

  • Ohmygod, they are the TOOL of Japan >:D

  • Die looks good with his hair like that~

  • Their drummer kinda sucks, but other than that, I can't believe I'm saying this. I actually like this song.

  • @Lostman916

Drummer sucks? Are you serious? The song might not be that demanding but alot of their other stuff (especially Vinushka) is very technical. Glad you like the song though. :)

  • @Lostman916 How dare you say that Shinya sucks!, I bet you could play nearly as good as him

  • @Lostman916 Sucks? Everyone how actually knows something about playing the drums, should see he`s very good. I play myself, and I`m not nearly as good as Shinya but still I admire him. You can`t judge about him after listening to one song. I agree with Crackapples1337, you should listen to Vinushka. It`s quite good.

  • @Lostman916

Like said before... really NOTHING gives you the right to say Shinya sucks. He a really good, appreciated drummer. You don`t even know his name, obviously, so I bet you didn`t hear much of his music either. First think, then talk,

  • @Lostman916

i don't see how shinya sucks, go listen to vinushka.

  • yes, and listen to the entire vulgar album, amazing drums throughout, so intense!

  • i`ve always thought Toshiya was just a decent bass player but he`s pro!

  • pfff when they do it on middel ages

they were already theat stupid asians they think they are crazy or cool but they are little kids

  • @mert360 your english is worse than me and i'm asian, wtf are you going on about

  • @xnovanx im not english i came from turkey and my english sucks

  • Comment removed

  • What is it about Kyo-san's eyes that draws you in and holds you captive????

  • hahahahah all I can say is, wow!

  • any person who fishhooks themself on stage is a beast

  • yap right...same playing

  • Waw o___o Wanna play guitar cover of the last chorus <3 !

  • the bassist plays so cool *___*

  • @KoRnhogan lol, Cello!

  • @spyro201 that is bass xD

  • @KoRnhogan I just meant that that's how you play a cello, straight up lol. Perpendicular to the floor... lol.

I know it's a bass, don't worry lol. School of Rock reference.

  • @KoRnhogan Yeah, he looks kinda influenced by Fieldy, don't you think?

  • @KoRnNot909 yes i think so xD same technique xD

  • @KoRnhogan I used to really dislike Toshiya, but for the past few weeks....I am developing a "damn this guy is huge and cool..."-feeling.....sort of.

  • @Athaleth yeah same xD but fieldy is better ;)

  • @Athaleth lol

  • @KoRnhogan ya toshiya is "G" as hell haha

  • @apples21879 yes XDD

  • @KoRnhogan I love them all as they are all so talented yet I totally agree with you, Toshiya is really great to watch performing live, they all are really so talented and entertaining

  • Man Kyo is so freaking emotive, that's what sets him apart from the rest, their music and his vocals are not just music, it's really expression and that makes it an Art. TRUE Art..

  • Wow, your a fuck. They don't play the same kind of music. Manson couldnt sing to save his life. Kyo is one of the best vocalists to grace the ears of humanity. So please GTFO!!!!!

  • Sorry.... I really didn't mean to offend anybody. When I said he was like the old school MM, I Meant as in shock value. Seriously< This is the only japanese band that scares the shit out of me.

  • Hide's memorial ruled....*was there*

  • sweet, thought I was the only other gaijin :p

  • I still like their older style better, but they still kick some major ass.

DIR EN GREY ROCKS MAH SOCKS.

  • Korn's nothing more than a stupid new metal band without feeling!

  • haha ok...

then go listen to the song "daddy"

  • Non sense comment

  • not at all

  • @ Shirobero - they [korn] cannot even be called a metal band

  • These guys are fuckin awesome especially the bassist.

  • I totally agree with you. Tochi is amazing!!!

  • Toshi...

  • there is no backing track. that is live. totaly live.

and just to say. god, the bassist is flippin brilliant.

  • hide from x-japan woooot miss him dir en grey kick ass

  • nice performance, and dont forget! this live was a tribute to hide, rest in peace Hide

  • wtf!?!? the bassist!! damn!!!! pinche bajista es una verga :O!

  • how is the bassist a dick?

  • well i mean, that is a great player.. not a dick man...

  • Anyone who thinks the vocals are from a backtrack is a retard, seriously

  • Straight up retards if anyone thinks any of this is pre-recorded.

  • dumbass, if you guys were the ones thum downing me i wasnt reffering to this one i meant the fucking obscure LIVE Blitz 5 days FUCK

  • I dont beleive theres a "backing track" here. its just good sound teching with any unwanted spill/distortion fixed in the mix.

  • They arent as good live duh but still entertaining.

of course there ARE bands that can actually sound like they do in studio while playing live... People In Planes, Metallica, to name only 2.

  • i saw them at anamie fest awsome

  • OMG Kyo is Sex. *__* x3

Great live, great band, everything great. =)

I Love Dir En Grey x33

  • I agree with you, he used to be better live.

Check out "Dir en grey- Obscure live (Blitz 5 Days)".

On that vid they're just fucking epic.

Also, they're wearing the same outfit as in the obscure music video.

  • they are badasss in that video. But keep in mind your voice does tend to take a toll when using the kinda vocals hes using

  • yeah that is a very sweet video but dude there playing to backing track with his vocals played back so ofcourse its gonna sound better where as here its all live with not so many dubs

  • I know they're playing with a backing track with all the effects from the original song.

Are you sure about the vocals though? It sounds pretty much different from the original.

  • umm yeah fair sure because it looks like at some times kyos mouth isnt at the microphone

  • ahh love his screams and growls mmmm

  • waaaaa..!

    i love kyo..!!!

  • -39

they will be in milan omfg *_______*

  • omk wahahahha

  • Killer drums and bass

  • Fucking sick

  • awesome awesome band!!!!!!!

    best band on this planet:)

  • cool

  • Dude, I gotta try that bass playing position.

  • I like Toshiya's style when he slaps the bass XD

  • Was it just me or was the audience not feeling it?

  • Well this is the Hide Memorial Summit (commemorating the 10th anniversary of X Japan guitarist Hide's death). It's expected that they be showing some respect for the man, which would explain why they don't exactly seem "into it".

  • I don't think it's that. Because if they were to show respect, they wouldn't be playing loud and hard shit like that on HIS Memorial. I think it's because Japanese people actually have respect for others and don't get too crazy like the Americans here. Because during the American Dir en grey Tour, I just saw a bunch of Americans moshing and beating the crap out of each other, but not the Asians in the audience.

  • "they wouldn't be playing loud and hard shit like that". hide probably would've enjoyed music like this considering he had an exquisite taste for music. It's easy to figure that out if you listen to all his music (X Japan, Zilch, Spread Beaver..)

  • most venue's in japan tend to be like that with everyone "sitting down behaveing" if you look at any gig there most are like that. tbh it must be pretty daunting for bands.

  • The slap bass is sick

  • sick live . wakcen beats it tho
