I was at the IMAX theater at the Minnesota Zoo when I was on a field trip! :D

The world's largest all digital IMAX theater in Wichita, Kansas at the Warren Theatre West. I went and it's worth the $ to go. Screen is 6 stories tall, 100 feet wide, 93,000 WATT sound system, 600 leather seats, pure awesomeness :D. Plus it's the only IMAX screen in the world to have a curtain over it.

This countdown made truely no sence. It used a lot of time to build up a "scary" atmosphere, and then it ruined everything by making relaxationsounds at the end. I got all disappointed :(

the only imax i liked was an imax 3d in vegas featuring a 3d ride in the cesars palace, the screen completely surrounded your vision, the image was bright and the seating area was on a gimble too. ive been to three other imax screens, it just looks like staring at a big square, the image doesn't look high def and is dark. going to a regular theater to see a dolby digital 3D film is better.

@goldoderblut I have no idea about US, since I come from Bulgaria :) What I can tell you is that I watched some of the newest movies in IMAX (the real one) like Thor and I didn't enjoy the 3D effects as I did the first time I watched 3D. So I don't know if the problem is in the 3D quality or just because we are used to it and it doesn't make that big impression to us.

@nahalitet11111111111 - In Germany there is just one IMAX 3D (technical museum in Sinsheim) + IMAX Dome in Speyer left (and the Phantasialand theme park, showing kinda underwater film using IMAX technology). Nürnberg once had both technics, 1000m^2 Dome & about 700m^2 3D screen, but they are digitalized now as well. This once was the most powerful cinema experience I ever had, but modern DLP solutions -even double projection- suck at competition, I have never seen a satisfying lighted picture.

12k for a movie theater is quite a bit i believe there is a diffrent between home audio and Car audio Still IMAX sound is much better than reg theater
