  • "ooh shit!!"

  • It seems so trivial watching it, but if you were his son, or his father, this would be the most excruciating 45 seconds of video in history... SO amazing that he managed to live through this, and a testament to the rescue teams for saving him from the wreckage.

  • @pbl826 Believe me, this was one of the most shattering minutes I have lived through. And the couple of hours that followed while we were waiting for news of how he was were not fun either.

  • 0:16 "FUCK!!"

  • through the shekien.... ohh shit!

  • now that's a fast rescue attempt - awesome!

  • Sadly some galahs have stolen this video already and posted it elsewhere on Youtube. :(

  • Wow, that is amazing! You showed remarkable control in your choice of language really! Thank you for allowing us to view this and best of luck with dealing with ACA.

  • I think the problem is in the engine, listen the sound, when he pass throught the chicane, and listen the sound of other planes on the same chicane

  • @ruiribeiro38 yeah and it did some hard turns without power.. not smart

  • @33049156 Actually, despite the sounds of things, his engine is running fine the whole time. What happened is that he stalled his top wing coming out of the final turn, and did not recover in time.

  • Funny as Perth media are still saying that it was a caused by a gust of wind LOL. I guess that is easier to explain than an accelerated G-Stall. :)

  • awesome footage, but wtf news taking ur vid away for free ? wtf they should give you credit for it at least.

  • @xReventonx The deal with the news was accreditation. I will be raising the matter once I check the broadcasts. The newspapers and radios got it right :)

  • @rdm1965 i'd be interested to see how you go, 7 and 9 used my maddington service station fire without my permission, and sunrise on 7 on a regular basis use youtube footage, i was under the impression uploading it here give youtube usage rights and they get money from the tv stations to use footage.

  • so your the guy? cool god on u for not profiting of it, i wouldnt have done the same though :O

  • no wings there

  • i watched this a few days ago when it just had a couple of hundred views haha the power of the internet...

  • I was listening to the Radio in Perth this morning and they said that A Current Affair paid many thousands of dollars for some photographs of the accident. They went on to say that this video would have fetched around $10,000 (AUS) but it had already been posted into the public domain for free. The interviewer said "I hope the guy that took the footage isn't listening because he will be kicking himself". That's a lot of cash for just being in the right place at the right time.

  • @naroomaonline Nope, not kicking myself. I really would not feel comfortable profiting from Adilson's misfortune. And it is not in the public domain. I did make it publicly available, but I still retain copyright. I am, however, generous in my offering of rights - only requiring attribution for use. Very different.

  • he live or die ?

  • Isso que dá chamar esses retardados de repescagem... pensa que é assim entrar para a elite.

  • at 13 seconds you can hear me yell HOLY FUCK in the distance as I watched him go down. lol.

  • @gimpieman That was mad, can't believe you were there watching when it happened.

  • @gimpieman Actually that is my wife, who was standing just behind me, softly saying "Oh fuck."

  • @rdm1965 listen again ur wife says fuck after the guy says holy fuck

  • @rdm1965

listen just a tiny bit closer, you can actually hear someone going "holy fuck!"

just a bit before your wife :)

  • @hectiiK

yeah that was me man. *thumbs up*

  • @rdm1965 Yeah, and a little later you can hear me saying "Please be alright, please be alright"

  • @rdm1965

yeah but that was me before her in the distance. I was that guy that asked you if you see the crashed plane with your bino's. :P

  • i love this

  • oh sheeet

  • lived?

  • It looks like he tip stalled while pulling around the last pylon causing that initial roll leading to him losing it completely.

  • much taken off! it sees ae.

  • REDBULL GIVES YOU WIngs.....OH NO IT DOESN'T.

  • @peterm3964 and takes them away aparently

  • If you slow it down right at 0:11 you can see for whatever reason he rolls a little bit more to the left, putting him in an almost inverted position, then rapidly stalls afterwards as a result. Eerily, this vid reminds me of that B52 that crashed in the USA in the early 90's in an almost identical mistake.

  • @pbl826 Cool story, bro

  • profanity warning? this is nothign :P

  • @Dereliktica Wow are you really that much of an idiot?

  • @Rhydiddy What do you mean, do you actually think planes are meant to fly underwater? your the idiot fucksitck

  • "ooh shit" ROFLMAO

  • Ooo SHIT!

  • He should have said, "jolly bother".

  • @Starwithnoname "Jolly bother and fiddlesticks", thank-you very much. :)

  • for everyone whos wondering if he died, he didnt - he escaped with only minor injuries

  • Comment removed

  • Oh shit.... I think I just crapped myself

  • look at the boat bounding over and ARRRHHARRRHHHH ARRRR AR RRR ARRRRR

  • oh shit, oh crap lol it was just crap driving thats all

  • Pilot error, might have stall it a bit too.

  • i don't think he ditched

the wind brought his light weight plane down

  • Engine Failure !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • no it was not, left wing stalled as clearly seen in the video, power was added but wasn't sufficient to keep up.... then crash!

  • @TheAdamski73 not an engine failure*

  • @danielhenriquetostes no it wasnt

  • oi gente assistam muito muito MANERO pessoal ...

  • Red bull gives you Wiiiiiiiings... but sometimes a sudden gust of wind causes your wings to stall, landing you in the drink...

  • why does it just say Go Upgrade!?

  • nice one - see how quickly you can set up google adsense on this video.

  • You swear like a Kiwi!

  • left wing stalled...thank god he's ok

  • He survived, he didnt even get injured luckily

  • Glad to hear Adilson is ok. Definitely looks technical problem to me. Praise to the rescue crew for getting to him so quickly. As for the use of profanity, I would have probably used much worse, so 'shit' and 'crap' was quite reserved!

  • @Domwilko Definitely? What are your credentials? Im a 200+ hour instrument rated pilot and aircraft owner studying aeronautical science and it looks like an accelerated stall to me. It does not look like there was any mechanical malfunction. I wouldn't say there "definitely" wasn't until the pilot gives his report.

  • @PsychoPilot @PsychoPilot I said technical problem, not necessarily mechanical. Technical problem could mean anything from a mechanic problem, engine, controls, etc. or piloting technique, as opposed to the aircraft hitting something. As for my qualifications, pilot of 13 year, AOPA Aerobatic pilot, IMC rating and about 400 hours.

  • @PsychoPilot lol 200 hours??!!! you go girl

  • I don't think he crashed because of technical problems, I thought his wing clipped the water on a banking turn and the plane yawed vertically. But saying that, I'm not exactly sure/

  • yes, u could earn a living as a reporter! hehehe nice done! lucky (if i can say so) to be there on the very spot/moment.... pilot is ok.. not the same to his plane (WE PAID FOR) - PETROBRAS!

  • Did he died?

  • @adamhughesy , no., minor injuries

  • @adamhughesy Sorry, but your inability to comprehend grammar causes me physical pain.

  • Parece que se ha desorientado un poco ¿no?

  • lolz, I hope he had a nice swim

  • Very good clip mate, and from what I can see on the internet, a total exclusive.

  • Great footage. I hope he fully recovers and race again soon.

  • For folks in Perth, I will be interviewed on 6PR on Graham Maybury's show around 9pm WST tonight. I promise that there will be no swearing in it :)

  • @rdm1965 Oh and if you are not in Perth they stream at 6pr com au

  • @rdm1965

Check your messages, Rob, or send me a message. The Breakfast Producer for Nova 937 is looking for you, too. I sent the fwd to your inbox.

  • Thank God my fellow Brazilian is OK! (My birthday is also on may 4th). We just heard here in Brazil that He's Ok...ready to come to Rio and make a good show! Nice video quality by the way! I have a few on my page on youtube.

  • I thought he was a commentator until he said 'Oh Shit!!' lmao! good to hear he's ok!!

  • One of the Red Bull racing planes has just hit the water in the Perth river.

    Pilot escaped with minor injuries.

  • Oh beached as

  • it was a wing stall caused by a strong gust of wind, apparently

  • Such descriptive commentry...

"oh shit... oh crap... oh shit... oh crap..."

  • Just saw your video on seven news. Nice work capturing the moment.

  • @nikitak saw it aswell

  • Thanks for posting this rdm1964. Thank god he's okay, eh?

  • you sound like you be from london, hahaha most proper spoken swearing iv'e ever heard haha

  • @krtbrd My wife (who you can also hear swearing in the background) thinks I sound like a BBC announcer. Not bad for a born-and-bred sandgroper!

  • @rdm1965 I thought commentary was from a seasoned professional! Maybe a career in broadcasting is on the horizon?

  • @rdm1965 I thought you were the announcer.

  • Not an engine problem. He entered an accelerated stall. It happens when the wing exceeds the critical angle of attack and lift is lost. In laymans terms, he turned too hard. By the way his bank angle increased all of a sudden you can tell his left wing stalled first.

It took a very quick intuitive reaction to not go in the water inverted.

  • @PsychoPilot actually looking at it that way you're right. guess he managed to roll wings level when he hit but had washed off too much speed in the stall to climb out.

  • pulled up to hard and stalled the top wing,

  • love that uncontrolled burst .... first instict of the man in this situation... OH SHIT!

  • most exciting thing in perth since the perth storm!!

  • something exciting in perth for once

  • Benno151 - No, I'd call it a crash-landing. That was a controlled ditch, IMHO. Just a controlled ditch from a very low altitude! Notice how straight the plane hits, and it comes down tail-first. Text-book ditching procedure.

  • @rdm1965 i agree. not sure if its just the audio on the video, but as he comes around the first of the three red pylons it sounds like the engine over revs? maybe the fuel pump shat itself which led to fuel starvation? just a guess. something obviously went wrong or he would have been able to at least bring the wings level and climb out. you can also tell he doesnt have full power because he actually hits the water at a relatively slow speed (compared to what the extras and edges usually fly at)

  • @bodyboardkid1 - Yep, it sounded that way to me, too. If you listen, after the over-rev, the engine cuts completely, so he does the last turn and a half unpowered!

  • @rdm1965 yeah that's how i saw it as well. interested to find out the cause eventually - footage like this makes me happy i converted my license to helicopters. congrats on your footage making just about every news broadcast too! the tail cam footage they released was incredible!

  • @rdm1965 that was no controlled ditch, he pulled to tightly in the chicane causing a high speed tip stall, the left wing dropped, he corrected it by rolling the right but pulled back on the stick too hard attempting to arrest the decent, causing a second stall as it hits the water

  • @markhux13 yup, looks exactly like that to me too

  • @markhux13 thats my thoughts, you can see clearly the plane twitch then he tries to correct but pulls up to hard and the plane hits in the drink in full stall. its probably a good thing because the second stall wiped off a heap of speed and ditching in the water was slow enough to do almost no damage to the plane.

  • @obzelite Exactly what I was thinking. Which is interesting, because it makes you realise why they host this race almost always over waterways - most likely crash scenario is in a stall during or after a hard turn - which is fine if you land in the drink, not so good if you have a hard landing.

  • ohhh shitt

    oh crap

    plane down! ahahaha

  • wouldn't call it a crash landing, more just plane crash! this vids gonna have heeeeps of views soon

  • Wow you could sell this video.

  • I will be there in a day...

  • wooooooooooooooow

  • Glad he's ok apparently.

  • nice coverage...

  • you should sell that video to a news company lol.

  • Wow! I just heard about this on the news and wanted to see if it was on youtube!

    Thanks for uploading!

  • Hi guys! Im the guy you spoke to in South Perth a few minutes ago, Amazing video!

  • wow, Thanks for that
