My friend and I had a drunken conversation last night about objectivity and subjectivity. It appears to me that there are some similarities to the emotion and reason debate there.
If your mind was only intellectual, you would not, or even could not, do anything. To begin "doing" something, you need a desire, an emotion, to put yourself in motion. Now often you'll find that approaching these goals intellectually will yield better results then going at it with only emotion.
I'm not sure what you're objecting to in what I said, but I guess it's my statement that attempting to reach goals intellectually will yield better results then trying to achieve goals emotionally?
I watched your videos, I find it interesting. And as far as my first two sentences go, when I refer to "you," I consider the "self" to be mind that is aware of its own existence, while it may be possible for your organic body to do things devoid of a desire, I wouldn't call it "you" anymore.
But it's all very interesting none the less, and the only REAL conclusion I've come to is that you are very undersubscribed.
One day when you are rummaging through forgotten graveyards of your own, you may not be so quick to judge, for she is not there for carnal pleasures, but instead to acknowledge and to bear respect toward the forgotten souls, who once walked this Earth as we do.
Well at least that's what she led me to believe. :p
very good video, youtube 500 character limit is very annoying when you come across videos like this.
it has me thinking and wanting to comment on a multitude of things, from humans stepping outside of their biological limitations, to carl sagan's pale blue dot, to spok, poetry and what it means to be human.
intellectuales are a dying breed my friend,
wars, hate, and the injustices in this world are enough to make many wise men act foolishly.
Their is so much poison in todays society, everything from music, to cartoons, mostly all designed to infect the mind with nonsense.

Can I go back to nursing my hangover now please?

Please do. But consider this. It may just be a subjective hangover. In other words its all in your head.

Nope, but that's precisely what I used to think—science has demonstrated otherwise. Please see: Descarte's Error & my videos on this topic.

I disagree with your first two sentences. Sorry, I should have been more clear.
