Liam lost his voice through a combination of factors including cocaine use, which destroyed Whitney Houston's voice and many other rock singers. Cocaine fucks up the throat and Liam's sings from the throat with his neck at an angle. Damage waiting to happen.

Using the diaphragm requires special techniques. Oasis is a rock band, let's face it. The application of the throat is useful for different purposes and effects. The sound from the throat will always sound more brassier than from the diaphragm. Oasis is one of many many many bands who use their throats. However, don't mistaken this for "good singing". That was my point.

If you've even had a little bit of background in music, and by that, I mean even just a little bit of formal training, you'd know what he's doing is not "singing" per se. What I mean by this is that he's singing by the "throat" versus the proper way to sing is the diaphragm.
If it's singing from the throat, it's almost like talking. If it's in the diaphragm, you have a lot more air coming up, with vibrations, and everything. The sound is much crisper.

Noel doesn't actually use proper singing techniques, if anyone actually paid attention. It's polished talking - look at how quickly he needs to breathe for the next verse. If he was really singing, it wouldn't be so abrupt like that. I can't believe people are actually saying that Noel "sings" better than Lewis. You can't say that because Noel technically isn't singing.
I prefer the original, but this performance here is very lackluster. Definitely not one of their best.

Her version is exactly like her cover of run, just a quiet start building up to a loud ending, just average easy listening for people who don't know much about music-x factor fans. i'd love to hear someone sing a full set singing like liam, thats why hes had so much wear on his voice

@sameshitdifday maybe as good songwriters as liam, yer he isnt anything particularly special, noel gallagher on the other hand is amazing and he wrote this song and countless other brilliant oasis songs. when leona lewis becomes a songwriter in her own right who makes over 20 singles in the top 10 in a row (which i think is a record) then i will have a bit more respect for her. right now, she has a nice voice but no substance, and her version is just a generic quiet start with loud ending

I know it because I'm a fan you twat. Noel's said he ain't done drugs since 1998 when he had a panic attack in France. Liam lost his voice through a combination of factors including cocaine use, which destroyed Whitney Houston's voice and many other rock singers. Cocaine fucks up the throat and Liam's sings from the throat with his neck at an angle. Damage waiting to happen.

Just to be clear, I never said I didn't like Oasis - i love their songs. For this particular song, people hated Lewis' cover. People said she can't sing, and I laugh at THAT. She can sing alright.
People like different things - I happen to like both those "versions" differently.

Using the diaphragm requires special techniques. Oasis is a rock band, let's face it. The application of the throat is useful for different purposes and effects. The sound from the throat will always sound more brassier than from the diaphragm. Oasis is one of many many many bands who use their throats. However, don't mistaken this for "good singing". That was my point.

If you've even had a little bit of background in music, and by that, I mean even just a little bit of formal training, you'd know what he's doing is not "singing" per se. What I mean by this is that he's singing by the "throat" versus the proper way to sing is the diaphragm.
If it's singing from the throat, it's almost like talking. If it's in the diaphragm, you have a lot more air coming up, with vibrations, and everything. The sound is much crisper.

Noel doesn't actually use proper singing techniques, if anyone actually paid attention. It's polished talking - look at how quickly he needs to breathe for the next verse. If he was really singing, it wouldn't be so abrupt like that. I can't believe people are actually saying that Noel "sings" better than Lewis. You can't say that because Noel technically isn't singing.
I prefer the original, but this performance here is very lackluster. Definitely not one of their best.

@AWDracer doesnt matter whether hes "technically" singing or not, what matters are that it sounds good and that his fans like his voice...simple! no ifs, no buts, thats all that matters.....in my own opinion you cant compare liams and noels voices....i mean you can but it would be an unfair comparison, they have 2 different styles, personally cant choose between them and any true oasis fan will say that its not noel, its not liam who is the talent behind oasis.....its them BOTH as equals!
