  • I heard it from Sara's Butler Senior Recital, it was great!

  • eleganter and efficienter? more elegant, and more efficient perhaps?

  • i played this too. It´s difficult. Great:)

  • Does anyone know if there is a Bb recording. I'm playing this on a Bb and would like a recoprding to play along with

  • That is a german clarinetist, so he plays the german system, which is much better! :)

  • @beckpatr1 I think that depends on who you ask and why you think the German system is better. Tonally there isnt much in it. In fact I play clarinet in an orchestra where everyone apart from me plays the German system and my sound it just as good as any of theirs. The tone comes from the player not the clarinet. Mechanically the french / boehm clarinet is eleganter and efficienter.

  • not sure who is playing but Karl Leister comes to mind. He recorded the piece with a Japanese label some time ago and the sound and interpretation is similar to what I remember from this recording.

However, he plays a Wurlitzer German system clarinet, not the one shown on the video.

  • @Artief101

    Yes, this is Karl

  • Who's playing??

  • Great intonation. I really liked the piece.

  • why is it played with Bb clarinet?

  • Wow! This was so very crisp, so clear!

  • Good interpretation, I found it different than usual.

  • sutermeister was/is a very good composer, unfortunately a bit forgotten right now although this year will be celebrated his 100th birthday... in AUGUST! i love his cello concertos! and his REQUIEM!

  • Awesome piece!
