You know, the guy singing the lead on Ding Dong, sounds like the lead singer of the Tokens..also, .i dont hear his voice on any of the other songs by 5th estate...input pls...
This channel again should be complimented for putting together a fine tribute to an often overlooked group of talented singer/musicians , just like you have for many others like the Yellow Payges and the Liverpool Five.
Wayne was my first cousin and I remember as the little cousin going over to hear the band practice in the cellar of his parents. Wayne was a kind, generous man in addition to his many talents.
Just hope you might get this. I'm Robert Simko, Waynes 1st cousin from the paternal side. My maternal grandfather, William H. Wadhams, was Waynes paternal grandfathers brother. That's a mouth full. I use to be at Waynes, every weekend, in Springdale, watching he, Doug, Bill, Rick and Fervus solve 'unsolvable problems' from Engineering magazines. Taking breaks to play music. Went to their first local concert. Married a girl I met there. So sorry to learn of Waynes death last year.
Furvus told me to tell you you're right! Except he says they stunk INCLUDING Ding Dong! The Witch Is Dead !!! He says they played so many late sets and then toured so intensely that they NEVER HAD A CHANCE TO SHOWER. So must be that a lot liked the way they stank!!?? So possibly listen a little more and maybe your taste and smell will improve? Aside from Ding Dong and a couple of others they were basically rock n roll. Maybe that's your difficulty.
The song on this album that I've always liked is the goofy 60s artifact, "The Lost Generation." It's a peculiar fusion of social commentary and bubblegum, with cheesy sounding red rubber ballish organ fills and faux wild party sound effects.
The guy on the bottom right of the album is Doug F. (Duke) He lives in Wallingford Ct. I helped him build a recording studio in his basement in the early 80's. He taught me a lot about music. Great guy. I love this album. If anybody has more info on these guy's let me know.
You have some GREAT records in your collection

I saw this video and thought I should comment to let you know that Wayne Wadhams (a founding member of Fifth Estate) passed away earlier this week.
I was lucky to have known him and only wish he could have seen this rather nice hommage.
RIP Wayne. You will be sorely missed.

"That' s Love" é uma canção fantástica. Esperançosamente esta música tornar-se-á disponível no CD logo.

Thanks for the deep cuts Kurt. As a kid I used to love flipping over the 45 and listening to the B side. Some real treasures on those B sides !

Actually, that's the "Drive My Car" riff, which George Harrison borrowed from Otis Redding's "Respect."
