Wow, great machine! Would be fantastic to adopt Hupfeld's 73er format, what is unavailable since the 30s. Could you share the drawings and software with me, please?
By the way, your rolls have beautiful chain perforations, can you adjust the step rate of the perforator to accommodate different manufacturers of vintage rolls? About how long does it take to perforate one roll?
who wrote the rest of the software? the software looks pretty advanced. are you selling rolls? is the accuracy of the machine 0.002in in both directions? (notewise/timewise) Who did the electronics and what kind of microcontroller are you using? I have made a very accurate puncher myself.

Good machine.
What is title of the melody, which is playing from 0:00 to 2:45, during the machine working?

@FlpBusker Thank you very much.
But, I would like to search and get exactly this version of this melody.
What is name of the group/band/orchestra, which is playing this melody on your movie?

How do I I find plans on how to make one?? It must be easy.

How do you operate it?
anglerfly 1 year ago
What software did you use? I see it runs on windows xp. Would you mind sharing both the plans on how you built the system and the software?

Hi djvincesewer
Sorry, but I don’t have plans, just a few drawings.
It was built bit by bit, without a master plan.
The machine is controlled by TurboCnc, DOS.
The windows software converts Midi to GCode. I wrote that one.

Hi AAErikCO
Yes, the step rate can be adjusted, by software.
It takes about 1 hour operation per minute of music.

Valley Forge Music Roll Company, uses a laser to cut the rolls, it is very interesting to watch

jalla2000 3 years ago
Yes, I wrote part of the software.
The machine is accurate to 0.002"

I was wondering if you would consider doing custom orders of piano rolls and speaking with me on your perforator? Thanks!
AAErikCO 2 years ago
Hi AAErikCO
Sorry it took so long to reply. Somehow I missed your comment.
I do not make music rolls commercially; it is just a hobby of mine.
But we can talk about the perforator; it will be a pleasure.
