You have to understand that people don't want to be annoying on purpose. She probably wants you to just spend more time with her. Think of how to make it a win/win situation.

Call me ignorant, but I was so naive as to thinking that being a nerd, dork, geek, dweeb, goober (you name it)was a BAD thing. As I grew older (31 years old), my theory of this began to change. I just covered up in high school and the other students fell for it. I didn't crack one joke or say stupid things because it would ruin me for FOUR years, it is sad that society is like this!!!
It is but personnally I see myself as a geek. Geek is a compliment to a geek but an insult to those who aren't unlike nerd which is completely derogative. I see that geek are people who are completely obsessed with subjects that others generally do not like and we have a lot of knowledge in that area. On top of that I see geeks as having a some social skills (choosing to use them is a different matter).

Heh, my girlfriend does like video games, but never really plays them. I wish she did more often, but I am probably contributing to the absence of her playing since I hog our only computer. I did have another computer that I build most of, but it was...raped. My girlfriend will sit and watch me play for 6-8 hours at a time. Its insane. World of warcraft sucks, its a useless game, there are better games to play which use more brain activity and are actually fun (and not just activity).
I don't understand how you can get engaged to somebody who's apparently decided they don't like a core part of your personality. However, there is a difference between expecting a person to change who they are entirely, and expecting a compromise. Usually in a situation like that there are things that both parties do that the other may not like or appreciate.
I would love to find a nerdy girl but all the chicks around here are dumb, blonde, rednecks or preps who probably wouldn't accept my nerdiness even if they would date me. But I so agree with this, I had an ex who played Starcraft, which isn't my game, and he got MAD because I asked how he was doing, complaining "You don't like it" and not getting it when I said "No, but you enjoy it, so I want to know how you're doing, if you're having fun, etc."

i'm a girl who has been watching diggnation since like episode 90 or smtng. i would classify myself as a girl geek cuz i love comics, video games, sci fi, tech/computers, the internet.
that epi and email is one of my fave diggnation. i agree with kevin 100%. dont be with a person who doesnt accept ur geekiness. i love when kevin and alex give relationship advice for fans, they are always funny. and i want a diggnation t-shirt. geeks should marry other geeks and rule the world.

Call me ignorant, but I was so naive as to thinking that being a nerd, dork, geek, dweeb, goober (you name it)was a BAD thing. As I grew older (31 years old), my theory of this began to change. I just covered up in high school and the other students fell for it. I didn't crack one joke or say stupid things because it would ruin me for FOUR years, it is sad that society is like this!!!

It is but personnally I see myself as a geek. Geek is a compliment to a geek but an insult to those who aren't unlike nerd which is completely derogative. I see that geek are people who are completely obsessed with subjects that others generally do not like and we have a lot of knowledge in that area. On top of that I see geeks as having a some social skills (choosing to use them is a different matter).
Im thinking of making a video to show these points.

interesting. I see geeks as being less obsessive compared to nerd. Nerd tends to mean lacking social skills and completely obsessed, with no coolness involved. Geek is getting glamorous.
I also see people use the word nerd when they are jealous of a person's technical achievements.

Geek is basically nerd but with social skills. To be a geek, you have to obsessive - you can't be one without it. Nerds on the other hand tend to be self focused in their obsession creating the appearence of more obsessive.

I love geeky guys and I finally found one who is so geeky that he's like a mad scientist very celebral. I love it!! I can't get enough he even draws scifi stuff star wars etc. It is like going out with Einstein. I think it is wonderful. Wierd turns me on right down to his 'Crispin Glover' accent and his shy mannerisms. raarrrr makes me really hot I play some video games with him and he's so sweet he pretends like I won. Heh, my girlfriend does like video games, but never really plays them. I wish she did more often, but I am probably contributing to the absence of her playing since I hog our only computer. I did have another computer that I build most of, but it was...raped. My girlfriend will sit and watch me play for 6-8 hours at a time. Its insane. Hopefully though, we will both enjoy it when I get us another pc.

I'd have the reverse I'm sure, being female and in an area now that I get stared at if I even ENTER an arcade on my own. But I so agree with this, I had an ex who played Starcraft, which isn't my game, and he got MAD because I asked how he was doing, complaining "You don't like it" and not getting it when I said "No, but you enjoy it, so I want to know how you're doing, if you're having fun, etc."
