hiya ste,gr8 blogs as always m8,as for the HOW MUCH BAIT should i put in,i always follow the match anglers when fishing a new water, the little and often approach(remember you cant take out what you put in).those pellet feeders would be where i would fish,as the fish will no where there next meal is coming from, just a thought ,cant wait for the next blogs steve, happy christmas fella, and of course,TIGHT LINES......
How much bait is still a question un-answered on this lake. So far they have eaten everything i have put out for them (use of the boat proved this) little and often is a key method of mine and this approch has lead to many extra fish.
Never had a run from the pellet feeders or saw a carp anywhere near them (someone else had that idea befor me and it is late season now)
Once again, a fantastic portrayal of what carp fishing is all about. Over the last couple of weeks your films have been avidly viewed by my mrs, and my 2 kids (9 and 3 yrs), and myself.
I don't know if I shoukld thank you or throttle you, as since seeing your films, the wife REALLY wants to join me on the banks, and take up this wonderfull pursuit!!
Did you know, that the black birds (dont know the english name) flapper their wings against the sun to 'recharge' themselves? Because their coldblooded animals, they get colder by the waters in wich they swin. If they recharge themselves with the sun they get new energy for huntin.
Been fishing on winter carp the last few weeks. But its hard, very hard! You encountered the same problem? Or is it a bit easier there fishing for them in winterish times?
The other channel is no more as i have no time to spare%-)
I am doing some winter carping right now matey:)
So far this winter I have had three nice twenties (best 26) and some really nice backup fully scaled jobs (check out pics on my site) the blogs for some of the winter sesions will come later.

The thing about this lake is it aint no gravel pit.
It's completly different to the woolpacks lake #3. Approches that work on lake #3 do not work so well here.
I did two weeks fishing on it and only got to grips with what i had to do to be really succesful on the last day!
Caught some nice fish along the way though:)

Cormorants are warm blooded animals and they hold their wings open to dry their plumage after diving for their food in water.
