I was in VietNam when we heard this song constantly on Armed Forces Radio. I did two tours and was wounded but this song was one of the best we heard.
Hang on Sloopy was inspired in New Orleans by this band while talking to a women, who Sloopy was taken, after her piano resital. <---I misspelled that. LOL

we just started playing this in band. (& im not from Ohio.) & its easy. yet sounds so amazing at the same time. its like my favorite song, i love it. ♥ & may all the vets from vietnam rest in peace. we love you all.

My parents are both Vietnam Vets. Dad was a Medic, Mom was a Nurse. If it weren't for the Vietnam War, I wouldn't be here today. Thank you for posting this. I wish that there was more recognition and support for the Veterans.

I was in VietNam when we heard this song constantly on Armed Forces Radio. I did two tours and was wounded but this song was one of the best we heard.

Hang on Sloopy was inspired in New Orleans by this band while talking to a women, who Sloopy was taken, after her piano resital. <---I misspelled that. LOL
