I dont get it. Everyone always makes these comments about the Mako being a pain in the ass to drive...the Warhog from Halo...now that was a pain in the ass.

Choosing classes in Mass Effect is about as deep as choosing between a schmeisser and a garand in Call of Duty. Fuck that game up its narrow ass, it sets a disturbing trend in RPGs that should be buried. Shallow and casual are not elements an RPG should have. Now compare Mass Effect to Fallout 3, its like comparing a childrens soccer team to Barcelona or Real Madrid. Thank god for Dragon Age though ..
Mass Effect actually made me angry. I was fucking angry after playing it. It was so bad, 12 hours to finish (for an RPG!!!), generic combat, piss easy, generic settings, horrible story. And they charge kids nowadays full price for a piece of tard like that when we got to play epic RPGs like Fallout 1 and 2 and Baldur's Gate at their age, these new players have no idea what a real RPG should be. It is so bland and casual that I was surprised a company like Bioware were behind it.
Wow dude talk about hate......I can't see how you can hate it that much, sure the combat needs a bit of work, but the voice acting, the story line and the depth of the game those are qualities that easily make up for the combat being too easy. This game isn't intended to be a full blown RPG nor a TPS. If you weren't into half RPG half TPS or whatever then why did you bother buying it? There are some qualities that could be improved on but every game has small aspects like that. It's a great game
Yeah that is true, but didn't you think it was very shallow? Where was the depth exactly cause I finished the game and did pretty much everything except for the DLC.
The depth was the sheer mass of the game there was a lot of content, granted all but the main mission worlds were almost the same but the codex for example has so much content in there you could write a book about it. You can replay through the game several times using different character classes and i'm sure you noticed the rather large amount of NPC's in the game.
There's not a whole lot of other games that i know of that have that amount of content these days apart from oblivion, dragon origins etc. But now that i think about it i can see how it might not appeal to some but in the end i guess it comes to personal opinions and choices
Well Im going to give you a comparison, Fallout 3 took me 110 hours to finish on my first playthrough. Mass Effect took 12 hours (including time for dicking around with side mission and exploration), and it had only a few very shallow classes. Now compare that to Baldur's Gate if you ever played it, and the disappointment just grows. These new RPGs have sacrificed all game depth for flash and cinematics. You were given at least three different dialouge options for each conversation, same result.
Unfortunately i own neither but i think that maybe i should go out and buy them now =d. I can't say that this game is better than any of those games but in my opinion it is still up there with them, obviously your view differs
Haha yeah, it's better if you play Dragon Age or Fallout 3 pusho, because BG is a very old series. The games are great but not exactly up to date with current developments if you know what i'm saying. I just brought up Baldur's Gate because it was their biggest title of the time.

The loading times are super fast on pc if none at spots. Elevators still kinda suck though. Otherwise a great story line, awesome voice overs and graphics.
i felt the exact same way as the white guy..citadel opening was amazing and thenassoon as you got out into space the combat killed it and after about 2 hrs out of the citadel inever put mass effect into my tray again.
i have to agree Uncharted is a great game the only thing that was bad with it was the sixaxis stuff i.e throwing the bombs with the control pad by tilting it ,, that just didnt work for me,, i hope that sony don't put that in uncharted2 or if they do i hope it controls better
Uncharted is amazing. I just bought my PS3 today and Uncharted with it. I've only gotten through a few chapters, but I'm already really excited for Uncharted 2.
Actually, I'm pretty sure that you said "The Mako" in reference to the truck that Tobin was talking about. The truck is called, well, The Mako, like the shark.
on a scale of 1-10, how hard is Uncharted? I know thats kind of random, but when I get a ps3, I dont want to get this unless it is at least a 7. Fun games are good, but fun games that are good and easy just become boring way to fast.
I can't say enough good things about Uncharted. You guys are right. The game just feels right and it's incredible. I bought it based on your recommendation. Once I started playing I couldn't stop. It's the Best PS3 game I've played so far.

Noobtoob... I love you! I bought uncharted a year or so ago, and played 3 levels and had to quit for some reason, never picked it up again. BUT!!! On your recomendation I played it today from 12:30 to a few minutes ago (10:15). It is officially my new favorite next gen console game! Thank you NoobToob!!!
I think you should totally get it. I borrowed it from my friend and I just beat it a few hours ago, it was pretty awesome. Mass Effect also has very high replay value, it makes you want to play through again and again to see what you can do differently. Totally worth 15$ :D

The elevators are not that bad. You probably should have waited until after you get off the tutorial planet before you make a review. Riding the elevator gives you unique conversations and side quests. Also my character and my squad have yet to die and they perform all of their abilities without me having to pause every 2 seconds to tell them what to do. The AI is pretty good in this game all you need to do is choose their weapon and the rest is simple. Point and shoot and the game is over.
Thats only your experience of the game, I had a similar experience the game fucked me over big time, oh and dont question tobin or yuzo you owe your life to them.
Mass effect's combat is awesome and in my opinion there was not enough combat. I'm almost done the game and have only seen a couple major combat missions and those were the main quest missions. Side quests are all finished with one shot. Most side quest enemies are taken out by a squad mate with one shot. Turn the difficulty up and combat becomes harder, but i have never died except those thrasher maws. I guess you guys played on super hard if you died that much.
The NoobToob mass effect review is the only noobtob review I've ever seen where I thought it was completely wrong and even slightly misinformed. Especially from Mr Tobin! :P
Sorry you didn't like it. There was just something about Mass Effect that I just didn't enjoy so I didn't give it that much of my time. Yuzo was better informed though. :)

Just finished Uncharted. Beat it in 3 days. I LOVE IT SO MUCH!One of my favorite games this gen so far. I'm playing through it again for the Trophies and because it's fun as hell :D
I played through this game 3 times before i put it back on the shelf and im rpobably picking it up again after being reminded of how amazing it truly was, i beleive this is the closest video games come to hollywood blockbusters. I hear the second one is in the making, goodies.

You can press a button (I dont remember which one was it) on the xbox controller to manually aim the gun so that you can fire up and down :-)
The fault of the game is that it doesn't have a tutorial on it.

The elevators are not that bad. You probably should have waited until after you get off the tutorial planet before you make a review. Riding the elevator gives you unique conversations and side quests. Also my character and my squad have yet to die and they perform all of their abilities without me having to pause every 2 seconds to tell them what to do. The AI is pretty good in this game all you need to do is choose their weapon and the rest is simple. Point and shoot and the game is over.

Thats only your experience of the game, I had a similar experience the game fucked me over big time, oh and dont question tobin or yuzo you owe your life to them.

Mass effect's combat is awesome and in my opinion there was not enough combat. I'm almost done the game and have only seen a couple major combat missions and those were the main quest missions. Side quests are all finished with one shot. Most side quest enemies are taken out by a squad mate with one shot. Turn the difficulty up and combat becomes harder, but i have never died except those thrasher maws. I guess you guys played on super hard if you died that much.

Sorry you didn't like it. There was just something about Mass Effect that I just didn't enjoy so I didn't give it that much of my time. Yuzo was better informed though. :)

Just finished Uncharted. Beat it in 3 days. I LOVE IT SO MUCH!One of my favorite games this gen so far. I'm playing through it again for the Trophies and because it's fun as hell :D

I played through this game 3 times before i put it back on the shelf and im rpobably picking it up again after being reminded of how amazing it truly was, i beleive this is the closest video games come to hollywood blockbusters. I hear the second one is in the making, goodies.
