Just dl'd the build, but won't be able to play with it until tomorrow :(
I guess this will get put into the official thing, since the guys at Blender put up a link to the blendernation article about it (where I found out about the build). Can't friggin wait.
So we could paint normal maps directly? No more need for baking or high-res model? If so, it would be really awesome and I would be making normal maps way more often :)
@TheFXGuy The "info" from the painting process probably gets stored in a displacement map (or stored on the fly in the memory). Would be cool if you could do something sort of similar but with the information converted directly do a normal map.
Like for example you want to add some scratches on a character... you would just paint them, simple as that. No need to make a high poly version and make into the low poly, you just sculpt/paint on the low poly version.
oh and also car crashes with the metal bending dynamicly
