Zum einen sind Newtonmeter nicht alles, da dem Diesel das entsprechende Drehzahlband fehlt. Denek das der Leistungsunterschied vom 550er V8 zum 320er CDi mindestens genauso groß ist wie vom V8 550er zum E63. Der E550 hat übrigens 540 Nm - dürften sich also ncihts tun. Aber mein Mini Cooper S hat z. B. nur 210 Nm, und fährt dem 320 CDi trotzdem davon. Nm ist gut, PS ist besser, wenig Gewicht noch besser :-)

als das facelift mit 224ps ist er aber nicht schneller der braucht 6,8

Jo, von den reinen Daten her sicher richtig. Bei einem direkten Vergleich denke ich würde der Unterschied sicher nicht so groß sein.

Außerdem hat der 320 CDi das 5fache an Drehmoment und mehr PS, da sollte er auch 0,8 sek. schneller bei 100 sein, oder?

hat nie jemand bestritten. Einzig sollte man festhalten, dass die Top Motorisierung der Serie näher an das AMG Niveau herangerückt ist - nicht mehr, nicht weniger. Der alte 306 PS 5 Liter ist halt noch mal ne ganze Ecke langsamer.

ich weiss ja nicht ob Dein Handbuch auf Koreanisch ist - Tatsache ist, dass Du ein anderes Handbuch hast als ich. In meinem wird lediglich beim AMG hinzugefügt, dass dieser die Zeichen "UP" anzeigt, sofern in einen nächt höheren Gang geschaltet werden sollte.

Und fest steht. Egal wo Du es liest: Im Schaltprogramm "M" wird nicht automatisch hochgeschaltet, das mit man am Wählhebel richtung D+ oider D- oder an den Schaltwippen erledigen.

naja das mit dem Antritt ist ja immer so eine Sache. Wenn es nicht auf die Kohle ankommt, dann möchte man eben noch mal 0,5 sek. schneller bei 100 km/h sein, dann spielt der geldliche Unterschied keine große Rolle. Aber grundsätzlich muss man sich natürlich fragen, wieviel Leistung man in Relation zum Geld benötigt.

Unsinn. Wer die Bedienungsanleitung aufmerkam liest erfährt, das bei manueller Beschleunigung mit Schaltwippen nochmal 0,2 sek. bis Tempo 100 gut gemacht werden können.

Kickdown ist sowieso pflicht.

Wer lesen kann ist klar im Vorteil: Das manuelle Schaltprogramm "M" macht die 0,2s gut, weil sich die Schaltzeiten verkürzen. Die Schaltpunkte hingegen werden bei Kickdown automatisch optimal gewählt. Ergo: Die 0,2s werden durch die verkürzten Schaltzeiten rausgeholt, nicht durch die Wahl der Schaltpunkte, die man manuell nie so gut trifft wie der Rechner.

Nein! Wenn Du den Kickdown-Punkt überschreitest, d.h. nicht nur Vollgas sondern Kick-Down gibt, dann sind die Schaltwippen außer Funktion. Der Wagen schaltet automatisch hoch! Nur bei Vollgas ohne Kick-Down knallt er in den Begrenzer. Steht so auch alles in der Anleitung. Nur die AMGs schalten in M gar nicht mehr (außer runter, bei erreichen der Mindestdrehzahlgrenze).

Hi, nein, es handelt sich ja nicht um den E55 AMG, sondern den Serien E500, der aber nach der Modelpflege einen 5.5 Liter Motor bekommen hat. Dieser löste den alten 500er Motor mit 306 PS ab und hat seit Juni 2006 388 PS. Der E55 AMG hatte 476 PS, der jetzoge E63 hat 515 PS.

E63 and M5 are cars in the same league. In my opinion the drivers skills will tell if the E63 is faster than the M5. In the TV Show "Top Gear" the E63 was the more faster car in a straight line, in corners the M5 gets away.

the newer the car the faster it runs - just because the market makes the rules. Merc got the 354 HP E55 (W210 Limo), than the new E55 comes with 476 HP (W211 Limo), than it was substituted by the E63 (even 211).

Same comes with the M5 and Audi. Old RS 6 450 HP, new one 580. Old M5 400 PS, new one 507. So if the car gets new on the market, it got more HP than it opponents - sure. (even with the newer downsizing strategie). Look for the new Audi S4. 333 HP and more performance than the old one.

its not strange - the 500 Engine was built in first session with 326 HP, not only in the SL, some few 500E Models in the 124er got this engine. And the later bulit 306 HP engines were not slower than the older one. The 306 HP 500er engine was built for a very long time over 3 models of the e class.

Sorry norra, but you`re wrong. The S6 got more Cylinders, ok - and ist got 435 BHP, and just a very little more torque. But it ist heavyer than the E, and instead of 50 more BHP its got exactly the same performace as the E500 (388). The reason is the lower torque speed characteristic (full power between 3000 - 4000) The Daimler got it between 3000 an 5000)

Another disadvantage of the S6 is the need of leaded super plus gasoline with 98 octane instead of the more cheaper unleaded gas of the E500

I think I'd still go with the audi S6 :P I don't think it's that much heavier and the 4 wheels drive make the S6 faster through corners, and you don't want a 4 wheels driven merc :P and I even think the FSI engine is more economical. :P

I´m from Germany - and I know about the Callsign in america with e550. Here in Germany it´s called like all the other E classes before "E500" - pure understatement. Since Jun 2006 you get the facelift Model with the new 5,5 Liter 388hp engine.

No, after a refurbisment of the E class in Juni 2006 the new E500 was just only called 500 like the other real 500er. The new engine has 5.5 Liter and 388 HP. The E55 had grown up to the E63, the E55 Models are even bulit until june or july 2006. The E55 has 476 HP and the E63 got 515 HP.
