@deemar325 Yeah, the way I see it, actors playing superheroes should play them like anything else: like a normal frickin' person. Only Superman and Batman have distinct 'voices' that actors should emulate. Superman: noble father figure; Batman: mysterious vigilante. Everyone else is an 'everyman'.
Having not seen the ep, this might be a bit premature, but I thought Fate's helmet was cool, tho the rest of him looked l'il 2 burlesque like. Stargirl suit looked like a rushed 'ween costume and Hawkman's wings looked like plastic
How'd y'all land one my fave comicbook store owners 2 your show?
I liked the ep, but I felt they took too many liberties with Kent Nelson ( and Nabu's helmet should have been less plasticy. And Shanks as Hawkman needed to lighten up on the Batlike gravelly voice and should've hit the weights for a few weeks before filming. Also, I didn't like that they were all taken out by such a fifth rate villain.
@Stepper11 This reminds me of the 90s when every comic book property imitated the Burton/Schumacher Batman movies. The Flash had a Danny Elfman-esque score and was grim and gritty (his motive: revenge for his brother's murder!); Generation X used a villain who imitated Jim Carey's Riddler.
@coydog0 I hated the Flash series. They went out of their way to dark knight it to death. The villains bore no resemblance to the comics characters. Sadly, that seems to be the rule with super hero movies and tv shows. Those knuckleheads simply don't get it. You have characters & concepts that have lasted for decades, but some douchey coke head figures he can do it better. I've relegated myself to the fact that 98 % of live action super hero shows will miss the mark.
@Stepper11 I double checked to make sure I didn't type this. My thoughts exactly. Most superhero movies are so...DREARY. Spider-man wasn't perfect, but at least it embraced the slightly tongue-in-cheek/B-movie aesthetic that all (sorry, folks, ALL) superheroes embrace.
smallville just needs to end....please god just let it end. It makes no sense anymore

@pmknight12 Brian Kelly is Syndi-cette member Jacque's favourite comics shop owner, so she recommended him as an ideal guest. She was right!
