  • What's the difference between a Soloist and a Dinky?

  • Jackson owns Ibanez in my opinion. Jackson has the right idea by not adding a middle pickup, it just gets in the way unless you lower it to the minimum which makes it near useless.

  • maylene and the sons of disaster rock!!!!

  • Pretty fucking sweet tone out of this guitar.

  • what are the tabs for 1:49

  • Hi, I'm Chris Cannella, and I am going to eat your face.

  • Sorry there people there isnt a jackson guitar made thats better than the Kramer striker custom fr 424 cm theres just not.

  • should of bought this instead of me strat :/

  • Hi I'm Chris Cannella, product manager for Music Farm, Kerry Kings stunt double, you know the stats.

  • @97copeable product relations for jackson bro. not music farm

  • ok ye iv got 4 jacksons as well as 6 bc richs 10 deans 6 esps and a dbz but i still keep asking my self WHAT IN THE NAME OF FUCKING HELL IS A HIGH PROFOMANCE GUITAR

  • @bradvssasha ive owned and played my fair share of guitars but from gibson to fender i prefer jackson i have a cheap warrior that i just replaced the pickups with some emgs and to me thats the best guitar ive played its all prefrence

  • That sound is crazy.

  • Im propably getting GROVER JACKSON SOLOIST.. Anyone know anything about it?

  • jackson soloist is the best guitar for lead!!.......rocks!!

  • I'm pretty sure that this is the SL2 not the SL2H cause from what I've read (in the jackson catalogs) the H stands for hardtail

  • @antiemo9 Nevermind, I was wrong. It's T that stands for string thru

  • @antiemo9 This is a SL2H. The H stands for Humbucker,as in the pickups. It has 2 Humbucker pickups so its 2H. The SL Stands for Soloist. So Its a Soloist with 2 Humbuckers.Hope this helps. You can see me playing mine painted in the Errie Dess Swirl by clicking my name.

  • looks like kerry king has a new favorite :)

  • @mrsaaz98 This dude plays way better than Kerry King. It's an incredible guitar.

  • jackson the very best!!

  • ha......look like kerry king.......

  • Do you have jackson sl3? and if you do how much does it cost ?

  • This guy has god awful tone. Just like Slayer I feel sorry for all the Rhoads and Soloist guitars that he plays. They must cry when he touches them...

  • Beautiful

  • he's play better than kerry king

  • @Gambit7Beyond

mahagony is heavyer and will give you a darker thicker tone

  • @RockGuitarDave

That is true...as long as you dont plug it into an amp....

the typ of wood have nothing to do with tone as long as we are talking electric guitars, and I would dare anybody who says anything els on a blind test=)

  • @ultram4

Plugged in the wood does not change the tone radically but is does change it.

Sometimes more sometimes less according to the type of guitar, who made it, how and of course the amount of distortion/overdrive used. I believe that if you do a blind test with the same guitar made with different woods and played clean in an amp there would be a difference. Maybe not huge but isn't everything just small details in the end?

  • @bloodyfrets

I beg to differ, a guitar pickup only reacts on magnetism and doesn´t pick up the vibrations in from the wood, its as simple as that. On a acoustic guitar however its another storie but the mistake peeps do is trying to convert what goes from acoustic to electric guitars.

  • @ultram4

I guess we will agree to disagree.

    No harm done : )

  • @bloodyfrets

You disagree from facts and that´s your right, but it´s ignorant. No harm done, but I suggest you contact someone with an electrical engineering diploma to explain what guitar pickups really do and how they work and you will to understand that wood has nothing to do with tone in a electric guitar.

Trust me, I´ve spent hours and hours chosing between the different woods at the Warmoth custom guitar site so I once was like you...but there is no mystery to it, only physics.

  • @ultram4

First of all you don't have to go all "I am the king of knowledge" and call me ignorant cause that is just immature.

Second I never said I am an expert. My opinion is solely based on people I know, read and my ears.

Third many expert luthiers (that have no electrical eng diploma but they played and heard many more guitars than the diploma guys did) still disagree and there is a lot of debate.

Forth I heard two guitars (telecaster, LP) wearing the same PU and they did sound different.

  • @bloodyfrets

It would be totally wrong for me to say that the pickups is the only thing that makes a guitar sound the way it does, ofc two in looks compleatly the same guitars can sound different, but scale length, string gauge, sadles and bridge typ, electronics and so on, everything that makes the string vibrate and affects the pickup.

I´m sorry if I stepped on your toes, it wasnt my intention, but the how sweet and amber a typ of wood vibrates will never be heard in an electric guitar.

  • @bloodyfrets

Scale length(the length from stringnut till sadle).

    LP: 24 3/4

    Tele: 25.5

Jackson built the Fusion becaus players wanted the sag that a LP has, slightly loser strings a bit more bottom and so on(I Have a Jackson Fusion myself and love it!), and trust me, with my emg´s and floyd I sounded exactly like my band partners LP with floyd and emg´s.

  • @ultram4

Maybe in the end it will be proved that the wood does not matter, and it will be great to have things cleared up. Until then you and I are just another two opinions along with million others. If you have though something to offer (sound clips, some scientific proof), I honestly be very happy to read and maybe learn in the end.

  • hey random question, does anyone know the difference between Mahagony and Basswood body?

  • Kerry King?

  • Love my SL2H USA Select (eerie swirl). Luckily it's from before Fender took over and screwed things up. My best guitar buy ever. Never have I got so much for my money. My Les Paul and PRS don't come close.

  • Fuck ESP!

  • ok now i really want to know the intro music

  • @YdocTheMad

memories of the groove maylene and the sons of disaster!!

  • @rama6maiden wow thanks man!

  • @YdocTheMad its maylene and the sons of disaster

  • yeah i'm currently considering buying a Jackson (or Charvel watevr) but I don't know where to look.

can any1 recommend a good site and model please?

Cheers ... sweet intro music btw

  • My problem is inlays and price.

  • @Hiltzaile1 So buy one and change the inlays?

  • How much do these go for?

  • @Manowar4life1234 My left handed Jackson soloist was $2,200. It was custom made and I had to wait 6 months because I wanted the transparent green finish.

  • How much do these go for?

  • what is he meaning when he says the compound radious at 12 and 16?

  • @skull9111 its about the fret board

  • Kerry king's brother!

  • I have two Dinky's but I really want a Soloist. WHY DO THEY HAVE TO BE SO GOD DAMN EXPENSIVE?!?

  • @DublinMetallica I got a 1989 jackson soloist with floyd rose, neck through, and seymour duncans for $200.

  • @boxtrap21 ....how?

  • @DublinMetallica My guitar teacher never uses it so he sold it to me.

  • @boxtrap21 Ah rite. You're lucky.

  • @RedNBlackAlliSee never ask stuff like this on youtube. Youtube is FULL of trolls that will feed you the wrong information and laugh

  • Alguien sabe cuanto cuesta en méxico ?

  • I have a SL1 Jackson Soloist that I had made to my specs in 1986. Metallic white w/white headstock. I've owned many guitars, but this one is the true love of my life. As Charlton Heston used to say, "from my cold, dead hands".

  • he reminds me of kerry king

  • wtf he is too good

  • "Hi, I'm Kerry Kings love child"... love the review, Jacksons rock! \m/

  • Man, i want this guitar sooo bad. Altough other companies sell strat bodies with a flyd, i want passive seymour duncan instead of emgs. So this guitar is perfect for heavy metal ,rock, jazz ,and blues

  • i perfer to have Humbucker, and 2 single coils. The single coils make it have more of a bluesy sounding tone, and Blues + Shredding = FUCKING AWESOME METAL!!!!!

  • Killer S-O-L-O-I-S-T!

  • Funny how he says Jackson was the originator when they bought the design from Series 10 back in the late 80's. I own a Series 10 that they took the design from.

  • @AndarLucifer lol funny you mention Jackson copied series 10 when series 10 had bootleg copies of pretty much every other company...Besides he said "originators of the high preformance guitar". Hence the reason for compound radius and the neckthru design. It really is a guitar that stays outta your way as you shred.

  • @AndarLucifer Infact I did a little more looking into Series 10. That company originated in 1985. Jackson had prototype soloists in the EARLY 1980s and were officially produced in 1984. Series 10 is the copycat here.

  • OMG kerry king!!! (not to be taken seriously)

  • i had this guitar in metallic black with a 2 x 12 tube fender amp with a boss GT-8 petal.... man, the sound on this guitar had me thrifted somewhere else cant even explain the feeling and sounds this master piece had....

  • i thought you were kerry king in the thumbnail LOL

  • Hey, I'm debating whether to purchase a SL1 or a SL2H. Could you tell me which would be a better choice? As far as I know the only difference is the pick ups.

  • @mrmaybe i recommend that you go to a music store and test play both of them and choose the one that feels best to play on:)

  • What's the difference between this model (SL2H Soloist) and the Dinky DK2M??

  • @MarioDGDG Soloist has a slight larger body than the Dinky, that's all I'm really sure of, there's probably other differences like pickups, choice of wood, etc.

  • Hi, I have a question. I'm debating whether I should get an SL1 or an SL2H. Which would you suggest? From what I know, the only difference is the pick ups.

  • i know what i want for next christmas >:D

  • @byd122 Have you seen the price of those though!?!?!?!

  • @TheAvengedRocker haha yeah like $2000 to $3000 XD

  • Hi, I'm Chris Canella... Product Manager and Artists Relations for Jackson Guitars. I'm down here at The Music Farm and you are watching Farm TV....

  • I like the SL1 more, but that one is amazing

  • anyone else think the intro music is fuckin badass :D

  • im thinking of getting the dk2 dinky in the future cause its cheaper and comes with a case for free

  • @MrLoco00791234567890 US Jackson's are way better in price/quality comprasion.

  • @Slavik27 dk2 dinky is part of jackson

  • @MrLoco00791234567890 DK2 is made in japan and it is too expensive for its quality - this is my message. For that price you can find better options.

US select series is great. I have SL2HT & old Fusion USA (by sound one of the heaviest guitar I've ever played, simply unbeliaveble).

  • @Slavik27 wow thanks for the information i didn't know that, but here's the thing why are the american aeries better than series from other countries?

  • @MrLoco00791234567890 Higher quality, better wood - which is most important factor which influence on the sound. It is really huge difference between US-made and japanese guitars.

  • @Slavik27 thanks for the heads up, but why would i spend 2000 dollars on a jackson guitar? is there any cheaper american jacksons in stores?

  • @MrLoco00791234567890 There are plenty of guitars cheaper than 2000. You can find deal around 1500. And there is a huge second hand market. You can always sell for the same price if you don't like it. And believe me, it is worth to spend. And don't buy japanese jacksons, they are noth worth their price.

  • @Slavik27 again thanks for the info, but im the type of musician that would only buy guitars $1000 and less because id rather make the guitars then spend allot of money on them

  • I wish they'd make one with just the bridge pickup and a volume only for maximum shredibility.

  • @electrickithara

Just get a Charvel, dummy. After all, they were Jackson before Jackson was Jackson. (Grover Jackson worked for Wayne Charvel back in the day)

  • I have a jackson custom shop death angel... simply the best...

  • @ironslalyica How much did that cost? I'm thinking of getting a custom Rhoads or King V.

  • @tenhundredkills 7800 dlls... but still worths them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! believe me!

  • Wow, this jackson looks really cool!

  • no demos for the sl1 ?

  • @JerridPayne Your face is a hockey stick.

  • @LastKnown800 niceeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • My first guitar was a Jackson Sl2H bought from a second hand store. Nothing plays like it. I've played top of the line Gibsons, they can't compete with Jackson.

  • i have a student model

  • THATS MY GUITARRRRRRRRRRRRR whoooo i have the red in it

  • my eyes were wide open the whole time

  • awesome guitar

  • @church400c I don't have a video camera but I have some pics in my channel

  • Is his picking tech bad?

  • @IamAlexG very

  • It's Kerry King's brother...seriously, this guitar is nice and Chris, your playing is insane.

  • i thought i was inlove with my girlfriend...untill i met this guitar,or as i call her-my sweetheart.lol my girlfriend said she was jealous.

  • @jaydog664 memories of the grove by maylene and the sons of disaster

  • whats the song at 1:54??

  • Farm tv... Where the fuck are the animals!?

  • @aL3ks06 you can see two animals at 0:20 to 2:53 but thats it :(

  • @aL3ks06 Come on, where's the cow!!

    Awesome guitar anyway!!

  • @aL3ks06 Farm Tv where the animals are fucked.

  • @aL3ks06 music farm

  • @aL3ks06 didn't you see him shredding at the beginning? he's obviously not human...

  • @rush2795 hahaha nice

  • I love how many people complain about shreadding not having emotion. .theres more emotion than just being pissed off, fucking emo kids

  • @FerrilEwok But compare it to other genres like blues... and ahahahahhhahaah.

  • @GetYourAlbatros lol thats why you dont see people randomly shredding in blues, and when they do everyone walks out for a reason XD

  • i have that guitar but mine is black xD

  • this guy has the best job ever

  • I have never had the luxury of playing a Jackson, please send me one so I can try it out!!!

  • he said ebony fretboard twice..

  • When he doesn't shred I find his playing tolerable.

  • this guy is such a distasteful guitar player. one of those guys that has practiced alot, got alot of technique, but you just want him to stop playing.

  • I bought my V from these dudes. THERES AWESOME! Rock on.

  • the thing about "compound radius"...does it mean it is wider or what?..compared for example with a fender stratocaster?

  • @donnaldinho its rounder at the 1st fret and gets flatter and wider at 12th fret and on up the neck go to ibanez website and click one of there guitars and rg i guess it has a diagram

  • im gunna get this guitar one day

  • love Jackson SL2H i have it play os good love it

  • he says every guitar is his faverought

  • this guitar rocks, this men rocks....

  • I ordered a Jackson Customshop (body only) The "Shred Angel"... Super killer guitar... $7800.99 dlls... It worths it... the better materials, and some custom things I ordered like optic fiber fret marks... with light and nitrocellulose finish

  • Sounds just like my dk2m paid far far less too

  • anyone know where i can find a trans red/black one?

  • Comment removed

  • that guys beard can kick my ass

  • All I have to say is: I PLAY IN A JACKSON!!!!!!!!

  • @rickbluespower How do you play in a guitar!!!!!!!!!!! thats sick

  • The clean tones shimmer with a lot of sustain. I wonder what he's using to get his distorted sound?

  • such an ugly guitar

  • @MarcoESPStoneSour really? it was modelled after your momma

  • @vampyrhart I don´t think so

  • the only thing i would change about this guitar is the pickups, other then that, it is perfect

  • i wish this guitar was Bolt On i dont like Neck through

  • @Lubial whats the difference ? i think neck through has more sustain right ?

  • @YAGGAAA well the big companies like ESP, Jackson etc they all say is true but i dont actually believe it i always thought since its more expensive to make a neck through more than bolt on i guess they only care about that they started saying that just to get more money out of the customers i haven't seen any scientific proof on that matter

  • @Lubial well i think that it is a reliable fact that neck thru has more sustain but whatever if you've got some gain you will have sustain anyways so just buy the guitar which is fittin you ;)

  • what song was he playing @ 1:59 ? anyone

  • anyone know the intro song?

  • I am watching farm TV.

  • Nice sound.

  • maylene!!!!!!

  • @church400c Mexico Is In America!!!

  • Fender Owns And Makes Jackson Guitars!!! American Fender Guitars Are Made In Mexico, So USA Jackson Guitars Are Also Made In Mexico!!!

  • @DylanBStringer91 W.R.O.N.G

  • @anahowana Go To Fender.com And See For Yourself!!!

  • @DylanBStringer91 just did and there wasnt anything about Jackson guitars. They are their own company!

  • @xHostilePhazex Go To Fender.com, Go Up To Products And Click Other Brands!!! The Other Brands Are Brand Names That They Own!!!

  • @DylanBStringer91 I stand corrected you nigger!

  • @xHostilePhazex Are You Blind??? These Are Companies That Fender Owns: Squire, Starcaster, EVH, Charvel, Jackson, Gretsch, SWR, Guild, Groove Tubes, De Armond, Tacoma And Sunn!!! It's All On Fender.com!!!

  • @DylanBStringer91 I know! I said I stand corrected! That means that I was wrong

  • @DylanBStringer91 LOL, you're wrong. Fender Does NOT own Gretsch. They reached an agreement for fender to market Gretsch guitars, but they are NOT owned by fender. I bet Fender wishes they owned Gretsch.

  • @DylanBStringer91 You're a fucking retard
